I thought this film was OK, at least watchable; the plot was preposterously silly though. I imagine a lot of people flooded the theaters on opening night expecting a continuation of the first two and walked out of the theater pissed.

This was better than the one from 2007(the one Rob Zombie directed). Hated it.

No witches found in this film only modern Witchcraft thru chips and computers and also one terrible bad joke plan for kids on Halloween Night and gruesome images of violence and weird alien people made of pumpkins, but this is part of the Halloween series although Michael Myers is not in it bc this was going to be part of John Carpenter Anthology of Halloween movies with different plots in each one but since Michael's character became popular, the sequels decided to put him back as the villian.

Michael Myers was burned to a crisp at the end of part 2. The first two movies took place in one night and it ended perfectly. John Carpenter never meant for Michael to come back. I liked this movie. It has its flaws, but I thought it was a fun movie to watch. They should have left Michael dead and made more movies with different stories like John Carpenter wanted to do.

Actually there is a bar scene in this movie where the guy is sitting there and in the background on the tv there is an advertisement for a movie. Halloween 1 or two or something. It shows jamie lee curtis screaming and all that. So maybe they made this movie to get ppl to go to it for money, who knows. They should have just called it season of the witch or masks I don't know but I remember being kind of pissed as a kid. Does anyone know the real reason why they named it halloween 3?

Becuase when John Csrpenter and Debra Hill were approached by Moustapha Akkad they said that the Michael Myers formula had been milked to death by themselves and others. They wanted to write a new and interesting story as a condition for them to return. When the backlash by Michael Myers fans happened John Carpenter sold the rights and it became a franchise. He now gets a payment from all Halloween sequels/ remakes for the story and for the soundtrack. A wise move if you ask me, lol.

First of all they should of not tried to sell it under the "Halloween "name, should of been titled "Season Of The Witch" only, and released at least 2 weeks before Halloween. And should have been more gore, John Carpenter should of stepped in like he did in Halloween II.

It was a good movie and would of done better if seperated from the Halloween series in general. People were expecting more Micheal Myers. And if I remember reading it somewhere on the internetz correctly and from a reliable source John Carpenter wanted to end the Micheal Myers thing with Halloween 2 and wanted every following sequel to be a new story.

But that flopped and he sold the right so now we have alot of sub part sequels. In the end nobody wins but Halloween 3 was good for what it was

Well, in the second halloween movie myers was supposed to die. The halloween series was ssupposed to be like the Twilight Zone (but much more adult...as you can see o.O). Each story was going to be different and after halloween three it was supposed to be on vampires. But myers fans were in a demand for more of myers so they made all myers after that. Can't say I agree with anyone's opinion so far in the comments section. I love HALLOWEEN III. I think the trailer perfectly sets up the tone of the movie, and is not misleading in any way. And, yes, the movie is about witchcraft (Celtic sorcery, anway). If the mask in the preview had been The Shape mask, THAT would have been misleading.

Man, that's what you call good marketing. Whoever made this, made an awful movie, but sure knows how to sell it. He took the name of two of some of the best horror movies of the time, Halloween, so people think it's gonna be good. Then he builds it up with the name: Season of the Witch, backed up with a witch's face and terrifying music, good build up. Finally he says,"The night nobody comes home." Notice he says nobody COMES, not came. It'll let you know, it didn't happen, its gonna happen!
