Man, the only reason I can still eat meat after this is because I eat halal, which is the Islamic way to kill animals for food. The animal must not be scared or see the knife, which must be sharp for a clean cut, and even if the meat I eat isn't really halal, but they claim it is, I get no punishment for it while they get punished for me not eating halal and for not killing the animal in a humane way and for lying and saying it is halal when it isn't.
this definitely gave me the push to go from vegetarian to vegan. I know my family is going to hate it, but I really can't see any other way to be after watching this. This is just so extremely sick. I don't care if it is harder and more inconvenient to be vegan, it is not worth these innocent animals suffering to eat animal products. I wanted the animals to fight back in this video, but they can not for obvious reasons, humans have to fight for them.

ok my grand pa is a farmer but he dosen't treat his farm animals like this, he treats them with care and respect, and when he kills a animal in the farm, we first pray for the animal and we thank the animal for the food it will offer us and he makes sure it passes away a quick and painless death, thanks pa.

Where did they get the footage and who taped it! I tried being a vegitarian but didnt workout. Its not really that we eat animals it more how we treat thim in their last years or days, if they died without pain and lived on a big grassy area like an ACTUAL farm it would be okay to eat meat without guilt. @sidney87juicy I work with professional nutritionists and although some are not vegetarian, they all agree that you can get complete proteins (the kind you get from meat and dairy) from plant-based sources. You just need the right combinations, such as any grain (rice, pasta, etc) eaten with lentils, or legumes, or beans, or peas. Quinoa, which you can cook like rice, is a complete protein itself. We way overdo it with eating meat and dairy in the west.

@lovebigboobs29 Well, of course you can be healthy and still consume meat, but that's if you go for leaner, organic meat and mostly fish. The FDA advises beans and shellfish for protein above poultry and beef. To be honest, I don't have problems with meat, I just have problems with the hormone-pumped beef that comes from slaughterhouses. My family eats meat, I really don't care as long as they are making healthy choices in that regard.

But you know- most people eat 4 times the amount of protein they need, and that is when health problems set in. One bowl of lentils has 20 grams of protein. Women only need 48 grams, men 58. There is more usable protein in an avocado than a steak.
@lovebigboobs29 I don't care much for avocados either, lol. Never liked steak. Believe me, I loved my meat, I loved ribs and chicken and I had sushi all the time. Vegetables are an adjustment, and not everyone takes to the change. Whatever makes you happy, as long as it's cruelty free. If you're going to your local butcher, you're already better off than most.

@postsilv71 Maybe plants can feel pain, but I think animal/human nervous systems are much different. I don't think it's entirely plausable to say that plants feel pain JUST LIKE us, or animals, so we shouldn't eat plants either. We should be grateful for and respect everything that sustains us, but I think it's going too far to say that carrots suffer when we pick them and eat them.

I agree with so much of this film, however the "veal" section is misleading, what the producer is referring to is WHITE veal, red veal is just the male calf used for meat that would otherwise be discarded, I think it is good to draw a distinction here.
I don't have problems killing animals for food, using whatever means. However, I do have problems about hurting animals for entertainment, like circus, etc.

Being catholic, I'm happy to point out that we believe genesis is a myth that reveals truth. By truth i mean revealing the lifestyle that god desires all humans to live. Naked without shame and free. Eden was meat free, and isiah states that heaven will be too. Christians believe that through jesus death we can achieve this perfect existence again. Being meat free is only logical for them.

So easy nowadays in Western countries to get all kinds of vegetarian products that imitate meaty foods, whose flavour/bite you might miss at first having grown up eating meat. I'm a German currently living in the Philippines, local cuisine very meat based, but i get along easily, at least in the capital city region. @sidney87juicy I work with professional nutritionists and although some are not vegetarian, they all agree that you can get complete proteins (the kind you get from meat and dairy) from plant-based sources. You just need the right combinations, such as any grain (rice, pasta, etc) eaten with lentils, or legumes, or beans, or peas. Quinoa, which you can cook like rice, is a complete protein itself. We way overdo it with eating meat and dairy in the west.

The FDA advises beans and shellfish for protein above poultry and beef. To be honest, I don't have problems with meat, I just have problems with the hormone-pumped beef that comes from slaughterhouses. My family eats meat, I really don't care as long as they are making healthy choices in that regard.

I don't think it's entirely plausable to say that plants feel pain JUST LIKE us, or animals, so we shouldn't eat plants either. no it dosent i mean they dot teach you to treat animals like this no matter what religion you have it just depends on the person. anyways cannibalism is a different story. and by genetically inferior i meant that animals just arent humans no matter what you do. an racism is also a different story but oh well your german that kinda explains it

As for racism and speciesism I'm refering to the parallel of the two concept they make in the movie. But as long as you fell like "i want a burger and i have the right to have one" it's pointless trying to explain that to you

@Faterocky you're Australian? Living in a city? So easy nowadays in Western countries to get all kinds of vegetarian products that imitate meaty foods, whose flavour/bite you might miss at first having grown up eating meat. I'm a German currently living in the Philippines, local cuisine very meat based, but i get along easily, at least in the capital city region. Do it man, if you really want it it makes you feel free instead of "friken hard"... ;) admitted it took me 29y also! =)
