  • agree thet wer the band b4 anti an an uncl jim----they wer root rasters ----nxt best to bob

  • Wonderful rendition of this timeless song. Beautiful falsetto in harmony with background voices. Some ill-informed comment here wanted to see some left-wing moral here. If anything, it is a call for peace. If peace has political partisanship, we'll all in trouble--especially right-wingers who see this song as sympathizing with criminals scaring the nation with their guns and ammunition, as Junior Murvin announces. Where are the peace makers? Don't look too long in right-wing closets.

  • Touching!

  • Left wing musicians have some morals, particularly when they incite riots or sympathise with criminals.

MOBO fights against racism! So much so that black artists stayed away from 'too white' Glasgow when it was hosted there!

Avoiding whites can't be more anti-racist!

Music and radical Left politics merge beautifully in this video: UNITE AGAINST [PUBLIC] FASCISM! (THE BNP IS JUST THE TIP OF THE WHITE RACIST ICEBERG!)

  • This is right-wing nonsense. Sympathize with criminals? The lyric is "Police and thieves in the street, scaring the nation with their guns and ammunition." The song laments violence perpetrated by police and thieves. Funny how these comments are taken out of historical context too. Anarchist spirit is more to the heart of this tune--no right-wing nor left-wing screed.

  • @dynamic21150 Please desist from the name calling. It doesn't further your cause or beliefs or whatever you want to call your thinking. If you can't discover heartfelt lyrics here nor enjoy the invitation to harmonious living then I pity you.

  • @PVGS500slow Did i misunderstand your comment? It sounded to me like you were writing a negative comment on the song, if not, I apologize, I am a firm believer in peace and love, and too dislike people who do not enjoy positivity, much love, Overstanding and peace...

  • @PVGS500slow I now see your comments were in regards to another, and I should have read more into your good words, peace

  • yeah yeah yeah

  • Le reggae

    le vrai reggae

    le bon reggae

Un peu de douceur dans un monde de brutes!

  • Positive Vibrations from Jah

  • Excellent Track from Junior Murvin.

  • I did not know a reggae band did this song! It's one of my favorite Clash songs. Joe R.I.P. had good taste in music.

  • i alwayz thought that that was a woman!! lol

  • wonderful vibes!! jux murvin one a di greatest old time veteran singer..

  • Still has the voice

  • After all these years Jm's voice and this classic tune still sound awesome. This song also has a Curtis Mayfield vibe to it. British rockers The Clash did a wicked kickass remake of this in a regaee punk feel. Check it out ya'll!

  • Thats some deaf shit on that wa wa pedal.

  • one cool song

  • talking about the band member of the Qeen band, he use to evil then, thats why he use to get his teeth kicked in and his gang. those theaf's made it big time.

  • this is great song, remember this from old days when a lot music was made in back street's of house in 1968 like beebee house off mannigham lane a street going to valey road of bradford. when the Queen band members just started geting together. he use to be evil the lead singer early days.he use to be bully hindus half muslim from africa.

  • SUPERB...joes version was good but hell this is awesame...here what i say

  • dude i thought he did a perfect reggae version of that.

  • this is the original actually. the clash covered it.

  • I prefer The Clash version :P! still good but not as good

  • clash do it better.

  • the love never leave my heart every time i listen to this song, it bring peace to my world. i hope it does the same for humanity to it's highest vibration.

  • junior murvin is a LEGEND! people need to check out his other stuff, not just police and theives!

  • Just Awesome !! Contains a Lotta Truth.

  • ALL rise to the master of music

  • Just a mind-blower....I could never match Juniors voice with the sound...even 30 years ago...but he STILL has it. God bless him.

  • świetne

  • Brillant. Great to chill to after a hard night clubbing on the E's.

  • classic chune!

  • Dem Buena...

  • This is one of the best songs ever- but it must be the original Lee perry mix. If you have a remastered version of this, find the vinyl 12 inch (or a recording directly off it) the way the textures change! - remastering has compressed all the dynamics out of it.

  • thank god his voice never dropped it would be ruined if it did

  • It's rapidly becoming reality in the US now under the excuse of terrorism and gang warfare now. Try taking a flight on an airline now.

  • This man got some incredible voice...his music tuely is timeless,,,,loving it

  • Junior Murvin here is simply amazing. Singing like a young man and actually saying something. His albums are masterpieces and everyone should own them. For those who make snarky comments about teeth or dance moves I say to you that you just can't respect how important this man is and he deserves more respect than you give him. All that said, Thank you Mr. Murivin for sharing with us your gift! JYA "and what I got I double"

  • his dance performance is outstanding 3:40 and 3:57

  • jajajajaja yeah!

  • Classic Song, Junior can sing his two teeth off.

  • scarface @ lockstock n 2smokin barrels !!

    awsume <3

  • ol boy's still got it! - Great version. Huge Clash fan. Huge reggae fan.

  • Great tune, but doesn't he sound a little like Herbert, the old peadophile character from family guy?

In the nicest and least offensive way, of course...

  • Uh, no.

  • lol

  • i read this before i had ever heard the guy sing, and when he opened his mouth i almost pissed myself laughing. lol. good stuff. no offense to the guy, he's awesome, but yeah he kinda does. lol

  • i thought so too

  • mate u cnt beat this, its FUCKIN CLASSIC, nuffink beats the origanls

  • Didn't Junior Murvin do it first?

  • course he did

  • Junior's version is good, but I like The Clash's rendition much better. They seem to have a more grittier & meaningful sound & style to the song. Sounds like The Clash lived the lyrics when they do it. Junior's version, to me, sounds too polished. No knock at Junior Murvin. Love his music. Just happen to love The Clash a little more.

  • come on m8 Murvin is jamaican man he's talking about what he grew up with and the situation in jamaica i think the lyrics and song is more meaningful to him.

    Nothin against the clash tho.

  • I know it's what he grew around & it came from his heart. Just that Junior sounds way too happy singing the song. The Clash, I feel, make the song their own & gives me the feeling they really lived the lyrics. Again, big fan of Junior Murvin's. But just think The Clash give the song more justice to it.

  • Beautiful tune, both Junior Murvin and the Clash deserve respect.

  • dubs west you know nothing. the clash were not about making muney either. junior murvin probly lived off this song. the clash wrote hundreds. did it for the people

  • Roots Reggae For Live

  • I totally agree with you DubsWest... spread the worrrd

  • roots!

  • montalanderfilms, what the hell are you talkin about! JMs voice is a classic roots soul voice influenced by curtis mayfield, yes it's high but your retarded. Also the ladies in the backround are in perfect harmony with the music and eachother. Your wrong. YOU SUCK.
