Is this background noise from the cockpit or out of the intercom? Is there usually no sound from the engines, because they are in the aft of the plane?

@workforcetrust The sound was probably recorded from the intercom system. If a microphone was pointed into the cockpit, there would be the sound of the air conditioning and wind. Engines are rarely heard in recordings from the cockpit.

@workforcetrust Unfortunately the cockpit sounds weren't on, the volume on the intercom was all the way down, so only radio transmissions were recorded, but you're right regarding engine noise is much lower in the cockpit in the MD90 because they are so far back.

@YMBatal yeah sorry about that, there inter com was off, so only got radio transmit ions recorded. next time will make sure the sound is correct. Was a shame the pilots conversations weren't on, they were really professional, and had a great sense of humour

I went to Dubai in 2007. Stayed at the Burj Al Arab hotel ^_^ jk. But Dubai is the best place I've ever been to. The Mall of the Emirates is huge.

@FJb87 Was filmed 2nd of December 2011, there are a few flying, but you're right, there days are numbered with Saudia.

Saudia has stored 28 of their 29 MD-90´s. As far as I know the last still in service is the Reg. HZ-APF, c/n 53496, ln 2216. But I don´t know if the last one will also be stored too in the next weeks.

@rakanMR They still fly them, but I think less than 5 are being used, the A320 is replacing the MD 90's, I see a few of them at Riyadh airport being stored every time we taxi out, they look kind of sad gathering dust.
