  • You lot up ther all sound the same to us lot down here in the warmer south.

Middlesborough, sunderland, newcastle = all the same.

  • @benknightmobile- People from middlesbrough sound nothing like proppa geordies. Geordies have the strongest accent like, followed by the mackems, but the smoggies of middlesbrough are easier to hear a difference between

  • I don't think it was MEANT to make fun of Geordies....it's just an INCREDIBLY sweet, cute, lovely little rhyme which is perfectly wonderful....and couldn't be told any other way! It wouldn't be as cute!

And I know this is a bit weird, but I love your chair.

  • Hi. I was born in Benton which is why I speak quite posh. And the chair was very cheap on eBay. Have a good Christmas.

  • At Last! Someone spreading a bit of Geordie culture. I've just ordered your Geordie book. Thanks very much

  • Thank you for your kind comment. This monologue is in my 'More Fairly Truthful Tales' though. Not my 'Fairly Truthful Guide To Geordie' Hope that's okay. Let me know if you need to swap.

  • Absolutely love it!!!

  • Way to go Gary, Brian`s only been on youtube a week and already over 700 hits. Haven`t had a chance to post the book yet, will do on Monday. The grand opening of the library is also 17th. Keep gannin` kidda. Yvonne

  • Fantastic monologue .. :) and brilliantly read ... thanks for the link.

  • Thanks for making this, its hard to find anything that uses the geordie dialect =)

  • You're SO right. It's great to see a bit of Geordie culture on YouTube instead of all the drunken foulmouthed yobs sending out the wrong message about our precious part of the world.

  • Thanks for the kind comments.

    Gary.

  • Hey I'm dead chuffin' chuffed, near laughed til I bust. Great effort Gary, and the illustrations are superb.

    Keep it up. Stan.

  • Enjoyed it thoroughly - thank you ever so much for this :). The music is lovely as well.

  • Thanks for your kind words. Glad you liked it. Check out Tom McConville for more lovely music.

  • The recommendation of music is wonderful - more time I'll be spending on youtube...

  • Tom McConville has just been nominated for Musician of the Year (BBC Folk Awards)

  • Well done! Thanks for the info - I truly, truly feel folk music lifts the heart! While not of the same caliber, a folk band specific to the Geordie homeland is Busker - Ronnie Lambert.Give a listen if you haven't already.

  • I know Ronnie. He's great. Not half as famous as he should be though!

  • Such are the variants of musical fame. His genre is a bit mixed as well.

  • Here man! Another cracker. How come yer not famous yet? Keep it up Bonny Lad you made my day. Hint end hingin oot! Classic!

  • Love it! Great combination of words, music and illustrations. Exceptional talent -- desrves a wider audience!

    Stan

  • Thanks Stan, Glad you liked it. Gan canny.
