  • Is this work as normally. Suppose I have saved password for few sites. then Are those accessible to other profiles?

  • @satya61229 No, the new profile is like a fresh installation of the browser.

  • @billpg I wish only cookie /session can be made different then I can login to 2 google accounts

  • does this work on firefox 3.5?

  • Take a look at the new edition linked to at the start, this does work with 3.5. I'm using it like that now.

  • oh.. thanks a lot!!

  • instead of doing all that CMD crap, just go to RUN > and type in firefox.exe -ProfileManager

and if firefox is not already open, that will open the profile manager

  • Thanks for the tip. The "moz no remote" business is so you can get around the "if firefox is not already open" bit.

Anyway, I've made a new edition which doesn't require CMD after I found a much simpler way to do it and still keep firefox open.

  • take a sip of water

  • lol stupid question, but how do you add that you have down in the corner in the beginning?

    well good tutorial

  • That's a video annotation. Looks for the link just below my view count.

    Thanks.

  • what's TAB completion? I know nothing about computer and my firefox is messed up. Thanks!

  • When using cmd, you can press the TAB key and it will fill in the rest of the file or directory name if it can find one that fits.

You'll need a working copy of firefox. If its "messed up" you'll probably need to fix that first.

  • Thanks i'll try tonight. Also, every time for the other commands I've tried in the past, every time I'm supposed to run a profile manager, a new browzer window opens instead. How frustrating! Thanks for the help.

  • Check you've got the MOZ_NO_REMOTE line correct and in the same cmd session.

A new browser window appears if you don't set that value correctly.

  • dude you are a life saver, i duno shit about computers, I'll let you know what occurs. Thanks.

  • That was excellent promotion you did in my comment section because here I am!

    :-D

Seriously, this was helpful. I saved it in my favorites should I decide to use this.

And, yep, I'm leaning towards moving the series to its own channel, though based on the comments I'm seeing there, this will be slightly controversial. Who'da thunk it!

    :-)

  • Cheers bud! I'm glad its useful.

  • Great video! Extra tips: make sure to add quote marks, and have no spaces around the equal sign. Also, in the Notepad file, you can change the directory to allow your already-created new profile to work in a different version of Firefox (nice for beta testing)...

  • Thanks so much! A few tips...Adding a space between the equal sign won't work and you have to add the quotation marks. Also, if you want to run different versions of Firefox at once (e.g., to avoid a beta version requiring you to set up Firefox all over again when going back and forth between it and the stable version), change the folder location to reflect that when writing the Notepad file (but you can call the Profile Manager from the first location with no problem).

  • It may be that FF was installed in a different location to the default.

If you can find FireFox under the start menu, you should be able to right click on it and select "Properties" to find the location.

  • Yup I just did this and it works quite well. thanks.

  • Glad to be of service.

  • Hurrah! Please to help.

  • argh, I don't know if I can do this-certainly not when I just woke up, might check back later, cos I just lost track and now your voice sounds like 'blahblahblahblah'! LOL!

  • blah blah blah blah

    :)
