@houndsofroses I think they are very similar. Although Expedition Everest does go backwards for a stretch, which I don't think Thunder Mountain does (that said, it's been a couple decades since I last rode Thunder Mountain and my memory might be bad)
@houndsofroses NO, not really similar at all. Everest is a much taller, faster coaster. You see a Yeti and for a bit, go backwards... great coaster but different experience that BTM. Themed differently and BTM doesn't have many steep drops. Thunder is probably a better first coaster for smaller kids. Both are fantastic.
@houndsofroses They are both themed to be runaway trains in mountainous terrain, but they are both quite different coasters, Expedition Everest is a lot bigger, goes about 50 MPH while Big Thunder might pick up about 30. EV has a 40 foot drop, and has the largest animatronic ever created by Disney though a shame because it has been out of service for quite a while but still there and yes the ride does go in reverse in pitch dark. A bit more thrilling than Big Thunder.
@KickAzzNightHawk but then again there is expedition everest , rocky mountain space mountain.. but to be perfectly honest if u wanna really good thrill ride go on space mountain mission 2 in paris... fantastic ride or the aerosmith coaster in mgm studios
I`m going to Disney World but i already live in Florida LOL! I`m going in June i can`t wait! I`m going to face my fear by going on Tower Of Terror... im terrified of drops that big so im going to face my fear by going on it! Wish me luck in June when i go on it!
@MaxSuperStar256 Good luck indeed! If it's any consolation, you're going to a super safe park with extemely well maintained rides. I'm sure you'll have a great time
@Poopinapantry101 compared to most thrill rides, there's nothing very big. That said, there are still a couple of drops. If you like roller coasters, I don't think they're too bad though. As an aside - I used to work in a theme park back in my teens - roller coasters are generally most intense sitting in the first or last car. So if you're at all worried, sit in the middle of the train.
@hisbigness This is truly a fantastic video. Great ride footage and a little bit of fine off-ride footage as well. Sometime in the future would it be possible for you to make a video solely on the detail of a section of a park? For example, an entire video devoted to observing the detail in the Asia section.
Disney loads their parks with detail, so this would definitely be a fun thing to do!!
Thank you, glad you liked. It's funny, the Asia section surrounding this ride really feels like Tibet or Nepal. With my still camera, I took a bunch of pictures that made it look like I'd really been at the foot of Everest. Anyways, I do find it to be a fine line between simply enjoying a destination and trying to capture it on video. I try to balance the two...
This video is so far the best I have ever seen of Expedition Everest. It has a extremely good off-ride footage and the POV from the train is awesome. You were able to keep the camera veru still, and that was very important! Each time I watch this I just raises my will of riding it. Oh, and the music is very well chosen! XD
great video man. question though... do they say anything to you about video recording rides? cause i'd like to tape me and my cousin on them when we go in august.
I'm willing to bet there's something written down somewhere against it, but since the ride operator didn't say anything as we were boarding (and since I was right up front) I figured I'd go for it. Just be discrete with the camera when you're boarding, and hold on TIGHT to it when you're riding.
thanks for the response. i have a sony camcorder with the handle on the side that tightens and roller coasters don;t really shake me like they do for some. i won't have a problem dropping it.. lol. just don't wanna get booted from the park. thanks for your help.
the first roller coaster i rode in disney last week.... i thought it was gonna be the scariest one ut hahaha compare to rock n roller coaster, i could ride this one 87000 times without gettin scared
It depends what you're looking for? For me, this was my first visit to Disneyworld in more than twenty years, so I wanted to go old school and ride the rides of my childhood (like It's a Small World and Pirates of the Carribean)...
Very nice!! I really like how you show the outside and the surrounding of the ride before you film the experience. I'm going back in Jaruary for the first time in 4 years!!! It'll also be my 32nd time going (:
The ride was fun, although I could have done without the rain. And excellent call on the music...I never thought about it, but now that you mention it, that's great irony!
the jurassic park song belongs to universil .

great vid but what's up with the Jurassic Park theme? I love that song but I didn't think it would be playing at Animal Kingdom of all places...

@Laae10 Well, it wasn't playing in Animal Kingdom... I added it in when I was editting the video together. Call it creative license ;-)

I guess I should have saved the Jurassic Park music for the Dinoland section of Animal Kingdom, but what can you do?
Anyways, I certainly liked the ride. It was cool sitting right up front, although technically I think it "feels" faster when you sit farther back.
