  • So Clever! Thank you for sharing.

  • Thank you! i love your craftyness!

  • Hi Margaret, I have finally tracked down some cheap lampshades and my hubby has gotten me some large washers and a threaded rod and the nuts and at last I have now made my clip it up, and its great, I am really pleased with it, thank you so much for your idea, What did you use on the top of the rod to finish it off, And do you have anymore ideas? Thanks again, Rosemary

  • Brilliant I love this idea, You clever thing. I have made things like paper storage units from cardboard packaging. and cardboard cupboards, and they have worked really well. But I really do love your version of the clip it up as you can make it as tall as you like and put more spinners on it and as they are so much cheaper you can afford to have more then one. I'm going to give this a go and see if I can make one, thanks so much for sharing, Any other ideas?

  • Awesome, I'm going to try it. TFS

  • This is so great! Thank you, thank you , thank you!! Really wanted one of those clip it ups but couldn't see paying all that money for one. I've already bought the supplies and will make one for or two for myself. I'm sure I have some old lampshades in my atic or I will definitly be checking out the thrift stores and goodwill stores.Thank you again so much for saving us so much money!!

  • I was asking my Husband to make me one for weeks! I ended up going to a garage sale where my fave scrapbooking shop was (it was closing down and they were selling everything!) And I found a spinning display thing for $20! I bought it there and then and haven't looked back :o).

  • Oh my goodness this is amazing! I will be making one. I love it.

  • Brilliant!! Thanks for sharing!

  • Ok I will visit your blog for supply list thanks!

  • Where did you find the mini clips ?

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. I was online today looking at the clip it up and just couldn't justify the cost for all that I wanted (the base tier, the top tier, and the extra clips). I watched your video and thought, if she can do it, so can I. So I ran out and bought all the pieces and built one myself. I love it. I am still putting all the clips on it, but I can tell it is exactly what I want. I think I spent about 1/4 of what I would have spent. Thank you so much!!

  • very clever. I can't wait to try this myself.

  • I think you are a genius!!!! I just cannot see the money for the name brand thing. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  • I am so enjoying your tutorials! This one especially. Thanks for taking time to share.

  • how clever! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • I love your idea!!!!!!!! Thankyou for sharing it.

  • that is a brilliant idea!!!! i will certainly have a go at making that for myself...thank you so much for sharing margaret xxx

  • Very clever idea.. after watching this I'm thinking of mounting it from the ceiling as I have no floor or table top space left! LOL... So my wheels are turning... I'll let you know how it turns out.. Making my shopping list now. lol... Thanks again for showing this.

  • this is a great one ... you go girl.

I was wondering is the base wide enough when you add the sticker?

  • This is simply AWESOME!!! I created my own with an old lamp shade but it's nothing like this one. I'm totally showing this to my hubby and asking for his help. It's just like the clip it up that costs oodles and oodles of money but for a few bucks! You are so creative! I love it! Thanks so much for sharing! :D

  • My bottom shade is a lot bigger than the top one so they don't interfere with each other - I also hang bits off the cross sections of the top square shade. I like the paperclip idea as I could colour co-ord the clips to the subject !!

Any ideas on making the tags to put the labels on ??

  • I made tags by cutting rectangles from the hard plastic when you buy things like the cricut cartridges then I punched a hole in it then cut a slit and last label it. Thanks for watching.

  • love this love this - a woman after my own heart - if someone else made one I can make it cheaper LOL. I made mine using a floor standing towel rail which had a single post and 3 arms that held towels. I took off the arms and used lampshade rings that came from fabric lampshades, my top one is square just to add a different look. I used old CDs and nuts to stop the shades sliding down the pole. I have used different clips to you - might have to give the clothes peg/paper clip combo a go.

  • I just love your idea. a floor model one. Great thinking

  • what is the diameter of the lampshade piece?

  • The bottom is 9" the top is 7" Thanks for watching

  • Brill idea shame I live in england. Not sure that I can get the rod & base. But will give it a try.

  • @mayflie52 you should be able to get the rod from one of the hardware stores i would think.....i think it used to be called threaded rod or something like that....don't give up look around and see what you can find...you might be able to find something similar....good luck xx

  • Very Cool. Thanks for the idea.

  • Super Creative! TFS! Love your Videos!

  • awesome thank you

  • OMG. Thank you Thank you so much. that is a great ideal. My hubby is going to love you. lol I just save him $50 buck.
