Pfft. Goth strikes me as the sort of sub-culture that would suffer if too many people joined it. I've heard it describe as being fond of the sort of things that the rest of society throws aside - what would that be if society joined the goths? I can almost understand those "Goths are evil!" thoughts, but I don't hate others for it.

im thirteen too and i know them. I cannot seem to find their cds anywhere. im not goth im more of a mix between tomboy and medieval goth but i prefer not to slap a label on me. And i guess it is true todays kids think evanescence or stuff like linkin park is goth(not saying i dnt listen to them) when stuff like this is goth. and are you kidding?? most of the music i listen to is ethreal bands like this or lorenna mckennitt!!!

I am 44 and remember real GOTH. Goth, in general, died in the 90's and only a small handful of true goth bands survived. These dumb ass teenagers walking around all in black lipstick and all that crap couldn't tell real goth from the music played by an ice cream truck, and, essentially, have missed the whole point of true goth.

The best thing to do is support them through their teenage angst phase and showing them the real world and what little of the sub-culture is still left.

@befuddledman well put i myself am partcial to many forms of goth but i seem to find myself as never getting enough and i think ethereal goth is only one part of a larger most beautiful expression some one asked me the other day if goth was dead and had died in the 90's to which my response was no and even though it at times seems like such a small population it still continues on with pos goth white goth 3erd generation goth and acustic i bow humbly before an elder goth though i am only 27

@462jinks yep you are an elder goth. since you are over the age of 18. i like your comment. goth will never die, but the thing is these kids today have no guidance on what goth really is so they are partly the reason why goth is considered crazy (i don't mean to mock those kids). elder goths should try to help more of these kids. but i guess it is hard getting through to them. :)
