The weakest rendition of Lois Lane in the 70 year span. I don't know what Singer was thinking. I like Kate but she was totally wrong for the role. She not only looked too young but she was written more like Smallvilles Lana Lang.

Lois Lane is fiesty, bold, sassy, tough as nails aswell as vulnerable and having a huge heart.

This Lois was needy, depressing, boring, lackluster... no... just no....

Sorry but Durance, Kiddor, Danly and Hatcher can run rings around this Lois.

@MrCure4 Fair point. I think it's clear they got the casting all wrong. Kidder was ten years older than Reeves. Also Amy Adams (up coming Lois) will be 10 years older than the actor who's to play Supes! Bosworth, looked more like his little sis.

Cant believe how bad a job warner did on this, way to let down all the fans, i hope they dont make a 2nd film with this cast...i might lose all faith! At least it made smallville look great!....would love a movie with tom welling and erica durance!

Superman returns was a bismal. Kate Bosworth? Really? She was a decent act, but not for Lois Lane! And Brandon Routh.. did he not study Reeve at all? I mean as long as were attempting reverence here. and similar characteristics, could really have used more distinguishing of the two personalities!! I mean, thats the whole act! And Bosworth and Routh had no chemistry. . Very dissapointing cast

this movie sucked..sperman looked weak...they changed the whole story when clark is the one that marries lois she never marries anybody else...thats y they are having a reboot of superman which will probably mean everybody is fired...the movies barely got 200 million around the u.s...batman made that in a week i think...i like the concept the story just sucks and it is official straight from warner bros. lois did act good sorry to see a reboot just like they did incredible hulk

Yes, Bosworth is great...at being a flakey little twit. It's great that she enjoyed playing the role of Lois Lane but maybe she should have done a little research on how strong, independent women actually behave first. Being vacant, insipid and snippy definitely works for her (pure genius really), but I think it's too bad she played the part of Lois. I've always imagined Lois Lane as something greater.

kate did a great job as lois. She wasnt stuck up her own ass like margot kidder and is far more attractive. She actually makes it look like a girl that superman could fall for. This was a very underated film and it would be terrific to see a sequel now that the story and characters have all been re-established
