Wilco Zeelenberg tuvo una caída el sábado por lo que no compitió el domingo, por lo tanto, no había un espacio libre para la carrera y Darren Milner, cuyo tiempo estaba fuera del tiempo mínimo, tuvo la oportunidad de correr. La lluvia comenzó y la carrera fue detenida antes del accidente, pero las banderas no se mostraron a tiempo para detener el grupo de cabeza. Here is the story: Wilco Zeelenberg had a fall on saturday so he did not race on sunday, hence there was a free space for the race and Darren Milner, whos time was out of clasiffication, got a chance to race. The rain started and the race was stoped before the accident, but the flags did not show up on time to stop the leading group. In fact Reinhold Roth got the 6th place for the race, in the last season he was intended to participate. 2 months after the accident he wake up from coma.

I wish him all the best. I had no idea it had been so serious. He was a fantastic rider and one of the best in that era. He was always near the front and was also a gentleman and good with the fans. One of the last of the old school of riders.

That's one of the worst and most unnecessary racing accidents I have ever seen. Randy Milner is almost stationary on the apex of a turn. What a clown! There'd be 4 riders wanting to beat the crap out of him after the race ... 2 of them would have to be released from hospital first.
