  • Safeway pulled out of sponsorship after 5yrs @ Superstition Mountain CC.

    A month ago I heard the locals had 2 months to find a new sponsor or the event was going overseas. This is the only LPGA event I get to watch in person. 150,000+ attended each of the past 2 yrs and this event has the largest attendance of any LPGA stop. There has been an LPGA event in the Phoenix area for 25+ yrs. What a beautiful golf course and a sad ending for this event.

    Won't be able to watch Lorena do a 3-peat.
