Question Does the Benelli Nova need a change out on the Barrell for Slugs to Turkey load. I know "Barrell is not the right word" but you know what I mean. Thanks. PS do you prefer using a Benelli 12 Guage or say a Marlin 30 30?
@lluuttzz 0: The gun they are using at 0:15 is actually a pump action shotgun. So because the foregrip is rested on a cushion it moves the grip slightly back because of the recoil. Apeariently this kind of thing happens alot because hundreds of people think there is something wrong with their gun when this happens and they go on forums asking what is wrong. lol
Ye when I look closely I can see the foregrip moving a bit, so you are right and the thumb up´s I got with that comment just confirms the fact that this is a major problem for most people handling that gun... as you said. :)
@youthunter Dude, before calling me "dumb ass" u should have read the latest comment of me...

@megacarl87 well, the philosophy with smoothbore guns is that you can shoot slugs, buckshot, and what ever you please.....and the slugs give you that extra extension of the shotgun.....then they make slug barrels that are smooth bore, only real difference is the barrel is still long, but it has rifle sights....still can use buckshot and what not, with this, its completely stupid because you dont have that versatility...now a pump with different barrels to interchange is a diff story
@fireball676 Why? the only reason someone would buy a rifled slug barrel is for hunting, if you want to mount a scope on a shotgun and get good groups out to 200 yards rifled barrel is the only way to go, you will never group like that at long distances with a smooth bore
@Grasshopper257 thats why i have a .300 win mag, an 8mm mauser, a 5.45x39, and i can hit that distance with most of my pistols...my point was as an all around shotgun...it is very pointless to get one unless you are looking to take game at that distance during shotgun season.
@adenak Thats just not the case, why because if you pause the vid and you know your benelli guns...... you would then see its a pump at :15 sometimes the pump starts the forearm action with the recoil alone. my pump supernova has never yes never yet FTE.
I just bought a Nova pump slug gun with the real tree camo on it. I'm goin for the antlerless season. This next weekend. man its goin to be fun and we have 23inchs of snow on the ground. CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY DOE TAG FILLED. AND A FREZZER FULL OF MEAT...

wouldn't that make these shotguns rifles?
AuburnTigers111 1 year ago
@AuburnTigers111
Basically a slug gun with rifled barrel is like a .75 caliber rifle thats effective up until 200 yards
Grasshopper257 1 year ago
@Grasshopper257 If you upped the charge could the slug fly further?
AuburnTigers111 1 year ago
the point of slugs is in some places u can only hunt with a shotgun and they have different seasons
xarmsxlegsx 1 year ago
whats the point of a slug shot? Wouldnt a rifle be more effective?
megacarl87 1 year ago
@megacarl87 at the beginning of the vid it was mentioned that those are prohibited in many hunting areas.
LouCars 1 year ago
@megacarl87 yeah, but slugs are more fun (bigger bullets = more destructive power)

@fireball676 Actually true slug barrels are rifle and you use sabot slugs which grip the rifling
Grasshopper257 1 year ago
@Grasshopper257 i know this....i was giving reasons never to buy a rifled shotgun barrel...

@fireball676
But the thing is in places like Illinois and southern michigan for deer your limited to only a shotgun, muzzeloader or bow
Grasshopper257 1 year ago
@Grasshopper257 very true....i understand that....i live in a very free state though...so i dont really think about those things.

.15?? strange they left that in

What is the range of a slug? Is it comparable to a conventional hunting rifle shooting a .223 or higher?

FTE jam at 0:15
adenak 1 year ago
@adenak yeah i saw that lol
redmule02 1 year ago
@adenak not really a jam. its a slide action. some times the slide will come back on its own under recoil
thenewfieoutdoorsman 1 year ago
@adenak Thats just not the case, why because if you pause the vid and you know your benelli guns...... you would then see its a pump at :15 sometimes the pump starts the forearm action with the recoil alone. my pump supernova has never yes never yet FTE.
fike301 1 year ago
Jam is at 0:14 for those who didn't see, the round fails to eject.
Mainerism 1 year ago
@Mainerism thats not a jam, its a pump action and the slide moved back for some reason but didnt go back all the way.
Mike11069 1 year ago
@Mike11069 Now that you mentioned it, I see the way he rested the gun caused it to operate the slide with the recoil.
Mainerism 1 year ago
Lovely at 0:10
MrBevis41 1 year ago
Why would they show a benelli jamming while shooting? Right after the boar gets it the deude shooting afterward has a jam.

in my opinion slugs kick more than most rifles. atleast they kick more than my .270,30-06,and 7mm rem mag.

whats the difrence between slug guns and air rifles?
Pharanoax 2 years ago
dude are you serious, an air rifle is powered off air and shoots a tiny pellet
a slug gun can shoot a huge sabot slug or rifled slug out of a shotgun shell
a slug gun is a shotgun designed for 1 solid round instead of shot like in a normal shotgun shell
Grasshopper257 2 years ago
MUCH more power in the real guns. I know they make big Bore airguns that use slugs in these big callibers but these real guns are much more strong.
Gamovarminthunter1 1 year ago
I love how that boar died.lol

That Boar's a Benelli star like Tom Knapp.
I've seen him get shot, in two Benelli clips so far.

:14 fail.
every shot with the semi leaves the bolt open. i'd like to see the gun cycle at least once. why they can't put 2 shells in, i dont know.
theranster9 2 years ago 3
That's a pump shotgun. There is no bolt handle and you can see the forend come back a little. My 870 sometimes cycles itself with 3" magnum slugs

bin laden will be shot with a slug gun.

Maybe in a crazy satanic world it would, but don't waste slugs on people.
Use slugs wisely, my friend...
