humidifiers are for putting moisture in the air, and sometimes/some people (like me) when I have the heat on in my room, my skin likes the temperature but my whole face and mouth and everything gets all dried out so I need a cool humidifier (or when it's hot in the summer or for a bunch of other reasons...)

But that is why I liked my grandparents humidifier back in the day, cause it was both, it could heat up or be cool, it was nice...
