Wonderful Video, very well made, the Villa luxurious and elegant, all your videos show in detail the places, it is a pleasure to watch !!! Congratulations !!!
@kingston220 Thank you very much for your comment and appreciation, Kingston. Glad that you enjoyed this video.
The villa is very beautiful and the restoration work was very well done. So glad that we had the opportunity to visit this historic building - an experience that we would always treasure.
Hello Jasmine and Alfred, another terrific video as usual. Ann and I enjoyed it very much. What a beautiful place. Did I read correctly that Villa Francia is not open to the public? If true that is so it is truly a shame. Ann and I would have definitely put it on our list of places to see when we come back to Malta next year.
Thanks Charlie. It is a magnificent villa and yes, it's a shame that it's not open to the public. Perhaps if you write a letter to The Times it may have some effect.
I fully agree with you Alison. We have several beautiful historical buildings that are collecting dust and they could be opened to the public for a nominal fee. This is one of them.
I'd prefer to have these buildings left for the public and accomodate VIPs in a hotel.
when we go abroad, we pay to visit palaces and villas like this. Unfortunately, in Malta we use it for state visits etc. Why can't we invest in tourism? Shouldn't a gem like this be opened to the public and to tourists? Why are the most beautiful venues in Malta reserved for people who hardly have the time to appreciate them? Alison
What they don't tell you is that this property was owned by a very wealthy gay banker and his "adopted" son. It was the scene of fabulous gay parties in the 60s and 70s and was left to the adopted son when the banker died in 1971. Adopted son died in 1988 and left it to the state. Amazing how history is airbrushed to removed references to gays.
So many beautiful places in Malta we never know we have, thank you Jasmine and Alfred for posting these videos, you give us the joy of seeing these places of our Malta.
Proset Alfred and Jasmine, brought back some good memories for me for I remember going there with nannu to fix water pumps in the garden, very long time ago...........sliemalouis
Hi i would like to ask if this villa is open to tourists or at any special occasions like feasts and all. Thanks for the excellent video =)

@11lupin11 To our knowledge, no it is not open to the public. It was open once when they finished renovating it.
You may want to contact the government people and ask them if they plan to have another open days soon.
Thanks for your comment
