  • Brilliant stuff.

  • And then, Bill Gates comes in and asks "How much do you need?". Sureal.

  • In 1977, Dr. Jonas Salk (inventor of the Salk polio vaccine) testified along with other scientists that most (87%) of the polio cases which have occurred in the U.S. since the early 1970's probably were the by-product of the polio vaccine itself.

  • this is so interesting each time I click on your comment reply I see a red error message so I'm free

feel free to fill yourself with vaccines it is your choice your right to do so ...feel free to argue what ever you wish ...feel free to twist any concept ...feel free to dis ease

    to global ease

    to health

    to freedom

    to choice

  • @gaiagale

And I still don't understand the fear you're talking about.

Vaccine message: Take two of these drops and polio will never harm you again.

Anti-Vaccine message: Don't take vaccines! They have poison! It's not natural! It's against your civil liberties! They took our jobs!

I'm all for freedom, choice, and health. And that's EXACTLY why everyone should get vaccines, to keep people healthy so they can get their freedoms and choices.

  • @rm06c ...I see how you have completely missed the points that I have already shared ...I see now that sharing further would net the same results ...I am curious about your last paragraph I quote you here "I'm all for freedom, choice, and health" yet you support compulsory vaccination project ...I'm reading a story of a double standard

it is late here and I'm sleepy ...I choose to stop ...thanks

  • @gaiagale

No double standard. Go ahead and don't vaccinate yourself. You're just saying you're an idiot. And your insurance rate should increase for that stupidity. And keep your kids outta school so they don't get anyone else sick. Other than that, go ahead and get sick and have kids die from pertussis, which has already happened here in the US even with top-notch medical intervention.

Again, I'm asking for your science and your sources. Do you have any or not?

  • @rm06c did you read your comment before you posted?!? once again you resort to name calling totally ouside of polite respectful discussion ...as to school and children ...while I homeschooled them they were healthy and fit when they did go to schools they often remarked that many of their friends were sick alot.

the immunization program is in place you have your US top-notch medical intervention ...it is failing so you and others decide the system must be compulsory what's up with that?!?!?

  • @rm06c I've answered openly and honestly every question that you have posed to the best of my ability... I've read your responses careful consideration ...it seems to me that the only prespective worthy of your care full consideration is yours ...so be it

dare I wish you health and leave this virtual conversation at that

can we let this conversation BE in state of mutual health ...I know I can

    Ciao!

  • Yes, absolutely colostrum Mom's perfect specifically formulated first immunization opportunity for each baby

Breast feeding is the simplest most natural immunization choice and it is free to all

Beyond that rational reasonable honest education in terms of personal hygiene and food preparation make a huge difference in people's ability to remain in a healthy state

I have maintained a respectful honest perspective while you have continued with fear based allegations about me

    I'm done

    thanks

  • @gaiagale

So in 3rd world countries, where there is no formula, why are children still getting polio? Because colostrum does not prevent polio. Vaccines do. I'm an absolute huge fan of breasts, but not when it comes to stopping polio.

Hygiene alone isn't enough. It helps, but doesn't stop polio in its tracks. Vaccines do.

Again, all you have said is you're afraid of vaccines because you're not very smart. And so you'd rather see polio come back. Just say that already and we'll be done.

  • @rm06c again with misinformation ...Fact: formulas are being donated to the Moms of 3rd world countries by the boat loads all the while being touted as equal to or better than breast milk

again your last paragraph is a complete and absolute fabrication

    I am done thanks

    good Night

  • @gaiagale

So I guess you're just saying that I'm wrong is enough to prove you're right. Sorry, but it don't work that way.

Colostrum does not contain the antibodies necessary for fighting polio. If you were right, we should see rates of polio increasing because of all the formula and the "ineffectiveness" of vaccines. Yet polio is 99.9% gone. Why? Because the vaccine DOES work and amazingly well!

Where is the science to back up your claims? Oh that's right, it doesn't exist.

  • SCAREtalk? And let's put some childrens pictures in there too.

    :S

In Europe we now have a E. Coli outbreak... by outbreak, I mean 16 people died of it in Germany. Germany blamed Spain cucumbers (although no one is Spain got it) and people all over Europe stop buying (all) vegetables. But NOW, it seemes that wasn't it, it was that the cucumbers were probably baddly stored next to some (rat?) faeces - but it's an "outbreak"... please.

  • @leonidasx666 Do you really compare E. coli with Polio-virus? Seriously?

  • @Ko252 No. They're both horrible diseases. I just don't like people trying to scare us.

I like TEDtalks because they're about breakthrus and hope... not doom and gloom.

  • @leonidasx666 I just heard on CBC that the E.Coli allegedly came from a sprout farm in Germany ...perhaps now they have found the real source in this case ...E.Coli is bacteria ...Polio is virus ....you probably know of this difference ...if otherwise hopefully this has clarified

  • it's the guy they modeled steven hawkings robot voice after!

  • 10 people want polio ! no i had no idea that it is this close to eradication ,

  • why are there 9 dislikes??! I don't get it...it's such a great speach..people are just...simply stupid sometimes

  • 6:00 actually its been successful twice. Rinderpest has also been eliminated. ok its a disease of cows but its also caused huge amounts of poverty and starvation around the world for thousands of years. Fingers crossed we can make it the Hat-trick and consign this terrible disease to the history books as well.

  • bill gates hosting I smiled then lol'd

  • Funny thing is, Bill Gates could eradicate Polio within the month with the money currently in his left pocket.

  • @FatLingon I'm assuming this is sarcasm. As of 2006, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation provided 17% (US$86 million in 2006) of the world budget for the attempted eradication of polio.

  • @Evange Honestly didn't know that.... but still, my point still stands! ;)

  • What's worse than polio? Taking the gun of government and pointing it at millions so that you can take their stuff for what you deem as good. I'm all for raising the money voluntarily anyway you want. The second you use governments, you are worse than the disease of polio itself. Aggression against others is wrong no matter what terms you use to cloak it.

  • @MT2R So absolutely true! ...thanks for being so clearly concise

  • Yup it's there because they put it there

  • how can the multi-billionaires of this world sit by and let this happen? If the single richest person in the world donated 2% of their wealth they could fund this for 2 whole years, the top 10 richest people donated 1% of their wealth, spending could be increased by 25% for over 4 years! According to forbes current list

  • All I can hear is his lips sticking together and tearing apart.

  • @giacomand i hate smacking with passion, but since he talks about something important, i ll watch it till the end

  • I remember Bill talking about the efforts to fight malaria. Both causes are definitely worthy of whatever money is spent, even if it means paying off warlords and such to reach the affected places.

  • How about trading your weapons for a vaccine?

  • Apple will sue him for using "Game Changer" !! only Apple products are game changers.

  • vaccines save life!

  • I got polio from the vaccine. I was perfectly healthy before I got that filthy poison injected into me. Polio was caused by contaminated food. It infuriates me when stupid people like this man, masquerading as scientists claims that the vaccine is safe and effective. It is neither. The food system was cleaned up and that is why polio disappeared. It had nothing to do with the vaccine.

  • @Imogen1885 thank-you for making time to share your expereince I read your comment as a truthfull account.

  • @gaiagale Thank you. There are so many sheep in this world who believe everything the government and doctors spit out. I'm always surprise to meet someone who can think for themselves.

  • @Imogen1885 I'm reading quite a few comments that indicate that people a rethinking vaccines as well as the medical system as it is in these times ...this commentary is rich with insightful opinion sharing

  • We have to look at the patenting of medicine. Let science build on science.

  • @Alpinex105 Indeed! ...certainly a brilliant idea! ...a timely suggestion ...and we would be wise to " look at the patenting of medicine. Let science build on science. "

thank-you for sharing your insightful inspiration

  • @gaiagale Sarcasm?

  • @Alpinex105 I am absolutely with you on your suggestion ...totally outside of sarcasm if fact I've been done with sarcasm for years ... I see your comment as beyond/more brilliant than 'have to's' ...the time for examining patenting of medicine is now! in fact one can easily think 'overdue' if one is into that sort of thinking

patenting of medicine is a system that is, at best in sideways skid

time to look carefully; to determine the direction of the slide; in order to steer into the skid

  • What are your thoughts on the patenting of medicine? I was just stating what I feel, I don't think there is anything wrong with my comment. It was quick and direct. Although I didn't offer any solutions I could, but I would have to send you a private message (Character count). If you want me to explain further I would be more than happy to. Let's leave the snarky remarks and actually discuss this delicate issue.

  • @Alpinex105 ...my my your last adjective in terms of assessing my reply is a world away from my intention

clearly I was appreciating your wisdom openly and honestly shared

I supported your comment I stand by my supportive response and I agree it was "quick and direct" to the point ...all are qualities I admire

  • @gaiagale Sorry. You noramlly don't get positive feedback on youtube :P. Again I apologize.

  • BUT will it blend?

  • STOP IT! Aren't there enough people already?!

    /watch?v=lEPm_Kjga7I

    DAMN YOU SCIENCEEE!

    #sarcasm

    Jesus was black tho

  • I have a very good idea what a vaccine is and I know that my body doesn't need it! nor does yours! Vaccines have recently been proven to inhibit your immune system, not help it! in reality it's the vaccinated population that will contribute to a pandemic not the other way around! They are the ones carrying the virus! people, please wake up! vaccines are poison! I'm not trying to troll you, I'm trying to help you!! wake up! wake up! vaccines will make you sick, not immune!! please wake up!!!

  • @lovelara2 lol Newb

  • @lovelara2

I am unaware of any evidence that shows vaccines to inhibit rather than strengthen your immune system. However, that is besides the point. Your body is in constant battle with viruses and bacteria that you encounter everyday. The vaccines are a drop in the ocean, but per chaos theory, that drop becomes a tsunami in terms of its power to protect you from disease.

  • @lovelara2 wow did you even listen or LOOK at the video

  • fuck privacy..... i wanna know who disliked this video and i want to talk to them to find out why!

  • 6 republicans didn't like this video because it cut the drug-makers profits when a cure was found.

  • @JTlovesDexter

And just think of all those poor iron lung manufacturers that went out of business.

  • Vaccines didn't eradicate Polio at all. When the vaccine was introduced they CHANGED THE DIAGNOSIS CRITERIA of the disease, such that any new cases of Polio symptoms in persons vaccinated were no longer counted as disease at all or assumed to NOT be Polio and thus RECLASSIFIED to be either viral meningitis or flaccid paralysis, etc. The symptoms still exist to this day..exactly the same. We just categorize them differently. Edward Bernays must have been proud. Look into the work of Jim West.

  • @PattyGilMo Brilliant! ...thank-you for sharing this truth

  • Great! Next stop AIDS. Good Luck to all the scientists who are looking for the cure or something that stops transmission of HIV.

  • @22nishantsingh its called a condom

  • Comment removed

  • @Kretain Unfortunately, condoms are only 95% effective in preventing HIV (heterosexual) transmission (Citation: S.D. Pinkerton and P.R. Abramson, Social Science & Medicine Vol 44, Issue 9, May 1997, pp1303-1312).

That's pretty good, but its not perfect, so only slows it down. You can do much better if you combine it with antiretroviral drugs or similar. See NewScientist "Antiviral drugs stop HIV spreading to sexual partners", 13 May 2011, and the paper they reference.

  • @scottclowe did you also read the reason why its only 95% effective? thats because 1% of all condoms are defective and 4% are biological, made from skin, solution? wear 2 made of latex, poof, solved.

  • @22nishantsingh condoms?

  • @Zasphalahim im sorry, ill try to resist the urge better next time.

  • haha.. people are freakin retarded..

vaccines are ofcourse poisen.. whatever you do, dont take what the government says, its only to kill you!

(my trick to kill stupid, retarded and otherwise mentally ill dumb asses who think we will profit when they get sick)

  • Polio=Population Conatrol

  • lovelara2 is one of those "spiritual" people. Just saw her channel. She's not hardcore, so there is still some sanity in her left.

I am divided on the question should vaccines be enforced onto everyone. What if that becomes a regular practice and in the future some psycho decides that it is for our good that we should all get emotion inhibitors or something like that, based on his own idea of the perfect world?

Today it's just vaccine, but tomorrow? Should somebody choose what is good for us?

  • @id104335409 well put!!! ...a worth while read!!!

thanks for sharing your opinion ...certainly worthy of consideration ...the operative word being 'enforced' ...I'm more into choice for all ...the freedom to choose

  • some how this seemed a bit off ...what's the real story here?!?

suddenly ...when Bill Gates appeared it became obvious as to what this video is about ...money using children as the draw...the lure ...just one more cleverly guised ad ... ...the speaker said that many of the people who are spreading the program are volunteers ...so if the program costs money it is more than likely the drugs that are costing the most

get the drug companies to donate the drugs

stop drug pushing at public expense

  • @gaiagale

Don't you think that in your paranoid vision of big pharma plotting to spread plague to the people, it would be beneficial for them if all the children actually get polio?

Isn't the pedaling of 'medicine' such as chiropractic and homeopathy a far more efficient way of fleecing the uneducated? After all they don't prevent or cure, but ensure you can go on draining the funds of the gullible with the certainty that they never really recover.

  • @rootytuners whew! ...what a testy perspective! ...how on earth did you arrive at your questioning?!? ...and why address it to me?!? ...your reply speaks volumes as to where your head is ...I hope that you can manage honest answers for yourself

perhaps you can provide some insight regarding the many volunteers sharing the program ...the people are providing free people power and education...exactly who or what is costing millions ...hundreds of millions?

  • @gaiagale MATH: HUNDREDS OF millions or children being vaccinated, multiple times x Vaccine cost less than $1 per vaccination. On top of that the cost to run the program (shipping, communications, etc)

  • @DocSolomon Math?!? since when is health, caring, compassion about math? ...if the cost is that little then surely the vaccine can be donated ...volunteers can ship ...volunteers most definitely communicate :-])

  • @gaiagale um not only the drugs.... also the tracking, communications/coordination. It is very difficult to track down a person in some parts of the world, much less a virus, you can't even see.

    Just a thought

  • @DocSolomon if the people are difficult to track then it would be equally and/or more difficult to contract the dis ease

it is indeed a thought far more simple than Math ...simple arithmetic 1+1 = 2 ...of course one could think a little outside of arithmetic in which case 1and1 = 11

  • vaccines are poison. period. i don't care how many letters are after your name or what your science says. you can't convince me that injecting me with toxic poisons and cancer dna, that's going to help me. If you don't see how hypocritical vaccines are, you're an idiot sheep! wake up!

  • @lovelara2 people like you should be forced to take vaccines

  • @lovelara2 stupid people like yourself are going to condemn millions of people to horrible deaths. i hope ur satisfied with yourself.

  • @lovelara2 Poison? Do you have any idea what a vaccine is? It's a damaged form of a virus that your own immune system can easily destroy so that when it comes into contact with the normal virus it already has experience and can kill off the virus on its own. It is in no way a poison, but you are lie-spreading, ignorant poison.

  • @lovelara2 i hope you didn't get you diptheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccine... Then one day when you contract one of those, Darwin will laugh at you.

  • @lovelara2 This is either a good troll or a sad, sad, sack.

  • @lovelara2 well put!!! ...the name calling I can do without though ...vaccines are indeed legalized poison lobbied for at great expense buy drug companies the very companies that gain the most

    wake up indeed!!!!

thank-you for being brave enough to share your opinion

  • @lovelara2It's painfully obvious that you don't know the difference between a poison and a life saving medicine. You are a crank, nutcase, paranoid, and possibly psychotic dipshit who lives in a fantasy world. Do humanity a favor; crawl under a rock and die.

  • Is that Bill Gates at 21:48?

  • @mushroomHEADBANGERS Yes it is. He's been involved in this kind of charity work for a while now.

  • @No9Nando Oh wow, that's awesome. I had no idea! Thanks for the clarification :D

  • maybe bill can get some funds free here and there

  • I don't normally post comments about likes and dislikes, but how on earth can any sane human being dislike this video?!!? USD750million to reach 500million children across the globe annually, I can't think of a better way of spending my tax money, rather than buying submarines and tanks and torpedoes.

  • @AverDim The polio vaccine they shipped to Nigeria. Search for:2006: Rumors Cause Resistance to Vaccines in Nigeria or 2009: Polio surge in Nigeria after vaccine virus mutates or 2009: Polio vaccine blamed for outbreaks in Nigeria. If you think that sterilizing Black people and creating a hybrid of the virus where there was none is good then I'm talking to the wrong person. When a Bear or any wild animal kills one of your own you kill it.

  • @AverDim because some of us our against aggression towards others no matter the good intentions. Yes, this is much better than weapons of war, but no one (not even governments) should be allowed to point guns at others, take their money, and use it for what they deem are good intentions. Stop pointing the gun at me sir. Voluntary transactions only.

  • @AverDim - That's an incredibly cheap project in comparison to the payload of it. I agree that this is a very good way of spending our money.

  • @AverDim

vaccine denialist conspiracy nuts. They think that the chips that they inject you with the vaccines are going to give you autism, and when the chemtrails and the mind rays from HAARP activate them, everybody is going to the FEMA camps to labor as drones of the NWO and supply our reptilian alien overlords with human cattle. These people vote, btw.

  • @AverDim I'm curious as to the 35 thumbs up for your comment ...I can think of one reason that people would be less than enchanted with the video/the talk:

compelling people to introduce a potentially deadly disease into their precious children's bodies

freedom of choice is a fundamental right and protecting this right is a sane human choice

    I hope this is helpful

  • I thought of the polo vaccine!

  • thanks for being a boss

  • Bravo!

And you, who disliked this, really must be miserable creatures.

  • An even greater technology would be a microphone that can filter that annoying sound of saliva in his mouth...

  • Comment removed

  • Nice! :-)

  • Propaganda........... Thanks TED.

  • @DocSolomon This dude sounds like he`s part of the problem. Like Bill Gates.. :) Vaccines are not our problem. Our problem is people who are evil enough to release these diseases into the public..... Ever heard of vaccines filled with disease ? If not. Do some research. The way we solve the worlds problems, is not by medication. Sure if you ask medical companies, or someone like this dude, vaccines is the way forward. Its all about monies.. not health

  • @SilveradoDudeDk

"This dude sounds like he`s part of the problem."

Which problem? I don't know anyone paralyzed by polio; do you? Previous generations either were or knew someone touched by this disease. If that's a 'problem', bring it on.

    "Do some research.."

Science 101; research isn't about trawling the internet for paranoid ramblings.

  • @rootytuners My Dad was paralyzed as a child by polio (for @ a year) but he was determined to walk again and he did... free of any visible evidence of the dis ease ...I'm confused about the point you were making

  • @gaiagale

I think my point was very clear; but of course, I will try to emphasize it again. I think it's worthy of discussion.

If you wanted to make money out of people from selling unnecessary drugs, wouldn't it make sense NOT to prevent disease? (Much like the methods employed by quacks.. and incase that point was missed, I mean by practitioners working on whim and fantasy rather than evidence and study).

Glad to hear your dad recovered. But perhaps you can elaborate on the relevance.

  • @rootytuners ...what?!? ...you posed the question "I don't know anyone paralyzed by polio; do you?" I simply offered information ...an answer to the "do you?" part... you claim your point is clear yet you expect me to "elaborate on the relevance" of your own question ...One would think if health is the goal an individual recovering from polio would be an obvious relevance/concrete evidence certainly in terms of study/research

  • @gaiagale

The YouTube comment system is again breaking down in terms of keeping discussions coherent - apologies if these comments appear out of sync.

I take your point that your dad's affliction was a direct response to my question.

However, the fact he got better (in your opinion) due to his determination, is indeed not an obvious concrete piece of evidence. Anecdotal and individual cases are not the most efficient methods of determining sensible and effective health care and treatment.

  • @rootytuners It was indeed ...thank-you for acknowledging that it was a "direct response to your question"

in responding to your however ...I know others who were others just as determined and succeeded as well ...the people who got better ...the people are absolutely the most appropriate evidence moreover they demonstrated ...they earned the right to be a valid part of the research that determines sensible and effective health care and treatment. In fact they lived the methods that work

  • @gaiagale

In regard directly to the case of someone overcoming a serious disease by determination.. I'm not sure what we are discussing here.

Is your position that disease can be overcome by attitude? (In which case, I am not aware of evidence for this as efficient treatment.) Or is your contention that exclusively positive anecdotes should be retrospectively included in the study of disease? If so, I think this is a fatal misunderstanding of data analysis by favoring positive outcomes.

  • @rootytuners hmm ...I appreciate your use of the word 'discussion' ...as to 'position' well ...what I know to be true is 'that that is; is.' ...my attitude definitely affects my health ...and we are all healers/self-healing organisms ...the evidence is everywhere ...each one of us 'living' is proof ('cause if we were other wise any injury, every cold would be a death sentence)

as to anecdotes ...I'm simply inviting the scientists to include 'living proof' in the documenting of evidence.

  • @gaiagale

I think you're, in some ways, overestimating the body's self-healing abilities. The body has built in self-repair mechanisms, but these are almost always independent of your own attitude, i.e. being depressed doesn't completely inhibit hemostasis. Attitude is almost always beneficial in a placebo-effect way; you feel better and thus are more likely to follow doctor's recommendations.

I'm simply not understanding what you mean by "living proof." Could you elaborate?

  • @rm06c well opinion is opinion and to each their own ...I'm curious as to why you use 'you' in making the claims that you have. My attitude is a vital part of my healing process or to use your words "body has built in self-repair mechanisms" My attitude is the vital part of my body's built in self repair mechanism; on the other hand the "placebos and doctor's recommendations" that you place in such high regard are of little value compared to my 'attitude'.

  • @gaiagale

Unfortunately, you're wrong. No study has shown that attitude makes a significant impact in a person's health other than in allowing them to maintain healthy lifestyles and follow their doctor's recommendations.

Just like how your computer will turn on no matter how crappy you're feeling, your body will still react to illness whether you are happy or not.

How you manage your illness is another story altogether.

  • @rm06c am I? ...my original statement was we "are all healers/self-healing organisms" ...studies show whatever they are designed to reveal and as you said in your 2nd paragraph I could as truthfully have reworded my original to we "are all healers/self-healing computers" ...organic computers fits too

I'll reword your 2nd paragraph slightly 'Just as a computer will turn on when turned on, the/ones body will still respond to illness'

How we manage our illness IS an attitude story

  • @gaiagale

None of what you have said makes any sense now.

Proper studies will show a very close representation of reality.

  • @rm06c It makes sense to me ...I trust my own research

    peace and health

  • @gaiagale

How very simplistic. To say your own personal research, involving one subject (yourself presumably), no controls, and non-existent protocols is superior than the research performed by dedicated scientists who have invested years of their lives into investigating how the world works.

I think Penn & Teller can accurately call that "Bullshit!"

  • @rm06c How very simplistic indeed! ...the only one who used the term superior was you ...I am a dedicated scientist ...I have invested years into investigation of drug free healthy living ...your reply seems to have an angry tone to it ...I'm mildly curious as to what the significance is in the term "Penn & Teller" ...and as to "Bullshit!" well the language one choose is one's own measure ...caffle manure can be a very useful in soil ammendment but using too much can make soil toxic

    to health!

  • @gaiagale

It was very clear by your comments that you found your "research" to be superior. I seriously doubt you are a scientist of any caliber. What you have done is to obfuscate the question on health with a bunch of medieval nonsense and delineations on freedom.

What you want is freedom to confuse and deceive. Vaccines have shown themselves to be safe and effective. Get over it.

As for Penn & Teller, here's a video message from Penn Jillete:

    watch?v=5x_-IoeSB-A

  • @rm06c that which you allege to be clear is questionable ...it is clear that I misstyped 'cattle' :-]) yet the comment is true and I do make my choices based on evidence/my research it is true too! Clearly we both know that you are free to doubt whatever you wish.

you may want "freedom to confuse and deceive" since it is your statement ...'freedom of speech' is quite a different concept and 'freedom of speech' is clearly a concept that I support.

feel free to do as you suggest :-])

  • @gaiagale

You are free to your own opinion, but you are not free to your own facts.

"Reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled" -Richard Feynman

Vaccines have demonstrated over and over again that they are both safe and effective. Numerous studies around the world have confirmed this.

But you are still claiming the opposite.

Do not try and divert the argument from science to liberties. You cannot win on the basis of science and you are aware of that.

  • @rm06c I did "win on the basis of fact and of science" and on every other level especially in terms of "liberties"

Vaccines have demonstrated over and over again that they are questionably safe and and often deffective. Numerous studies around the world have confirmed this. Moreover this video confirms the deffective scientific and health claims because if the project was really beneficial people would see the benefits and they would flock at their own expense to the project facilities.

  • @gaiagale

In terms of science, you have yet to make any scientific argument or provide any scientific research article. Here's one I can provide on PubMed: "Vaccines and Autism: A Tale of Shifting Hypotheses"

In terms of "liberties" what you are arguing is a sham. You are arguing for snake-oil salesmen to be free from pesky laws such as demonstrating safety and efficacy. Vaccines have done this in spades.

This video proves the efficacy of vaccines; a reduction in polio by 99.9%!

  • @rm06c enough is enough ...thank-you! ...this video only proves that the "sham" as you so aptly claim begins and ends hopefully with this project and I am only one of many that know that the truth of vaccines lies outside of the claims made in this video.

I support the people who choose to be vaccine free

moreover I support their right to choose

    to your Health! ([-;

    Ciao!

  • @gaiagale

I guess you believe that as long as you stick your fingers in your ear and scream "lalalala" as loud as you can, then you'll still be right. But you're still wrong.

I hope this great humanitarian effort continues and expands. What a great world we'd live in if we can eliminate all human viruses.

You support the rights of children to die from polio, measles, rubella, etc.

I support the right of people to be healthy and alive.

Thank god no one will listen to you.

  • @rm06c you made some appauling allegations about me ...I forgive you ...think before you type even youtube has rules

as to 'humanitarian effort' a humanitarian effort by definition is based on respecting each individual's (as well as parental right to keep their precious children free of poisons) right to exercise freedom of choice and voluntary cooperation

feel free to respond reasonably otherwise respect your own statement that this discusion has come to an end

    thanks

    to free global health

  • @gaiagale

I stand by what I said.

The reason it is humanitarian is because there is no profit involved and they are keeping people safe from disease. Vaccines are NOT poison. Why do you think smallpox is no longer devastating entire populations anymore? Because vaccines prevented their spreading and ultimately it died off. By not supporting vaccines, you are stating you want disease to be rampant and for children to die.

I wish I could stop. But you are WRONG. And I can't let that stand.

  • @rm06c ...and I stand by my opinion too so stop alleging what I want ...you CAN stop yourself you are the only one who can ...stop twisting this discussion

...I absolutely support children living healthy happy free lives ...in fact I visualize healthy happy free lives for each and everyone of us each ...one of us is a healer

in terms of Small pox several individuals have addressed the issue in this very commentary since you refuse to believe me perhaps they can help you understand

  • @gaiagale

I don't see any commentary on small pox in this comment board. Could it be because it worked?

That's the Achille's-heel to anti-vaccinationists; smallpox is gone thanks to vaccines. The worst virus in human history has been vanquished thanks to vaccines.

Again, by saying vaccines are bad, you are saying diseases are better. You are saying that children becoming crippled and killed by polio is better than vaccines. Or do you have another suggestion on preventing disease? Let's hear it.

  • @rm06c only "you are saying diseases are better"...my Dad overcame polio as a child and so did many others in so doing they acquired a natural healthy resistance to the disease

Vaccinationists allege smallpox is the worst virus in human history ... allege smallpox is gone ...allege it is thanks to vaccines

FACTvaccinationists have simply changed the defining parameters to support their claims

it is common knowledge that vaccinationists use fear based education to bully people into compliance

  • @gaiagale

I'm certainly glad that your dad overcame polio. But 5-10% of people with paralytic polio die due to paralysis of breathing muscles.

I'm curious as to what you allege ended the scourge of smallpox? Vitamins? What "defining parameters" are you talking about? Try talking in a language that everyone can understand.

Vaccine message: Take this medicine and you won't have to get sick.

    Anti-Vaccine message: IT'S POISON!!

    Which message is fear based?

  • @rm06c as to what "vaccines have shown" ...this very commentary has many testimonies as to the "safety and effectiveness" of vaccines. I believe the individuals who shared their stories. Moreover I absolutely question a health project, in fact any project, that is compulsory ...that it is compulsory is always the clearest clue for questioning motive.

btw I tried to watch the video ...sadly I fail to find any video

  • @gaiagale

Testimonies are fine for a presentation, but not for a research premise.

There is plenty of research that shows the safety and efficacy of vaccines using both epidemiological and experimental analyses.

I agree with the compulsory thing. But in this case, you're wrong.

Vaccines have proven themselves to be the very best tool at fighting disease and preventing them. The necessity of herd immunity drives the need for compulsory vaccination.

    You cannot win on science.

  • @rm06c You seem intelligent and perhaps even a thorough researcher who is a bit preoccupied by the concept of 'wrong' and that only 'others' are so yet you make statements that are so outside of our fundamental rights/responsibilities of 'freedom of choice' to 'education' I wonder what you are really saying ...using the term 'herd immunity' is so sideways in terms of us and our fellow human beings People like Hitler used compulsory programs 'win' is so outside of my motivation for living

  • @gaiagale

Again, you divert the argument from science to civil liberties. They are two separate discussions.

Herd immunity is a scientific theory; look it up.

Science is never completely true, just not wrong at the moment.

Congrats on the Reductio ad Hitlerum. I think Godwin's Law compels that the debate end here and that you are the "loser" of this debate.

    Goodnight and good luck.

  • @rm06c I was sharing my opinion based on real true evidence which is all about what is ...having little to do with duality thinking.

    btw I just googled "Godwin's Law" and read the wikipedia explanation... Now I understand ([-;

I thought we were sharing opinions all the while you were playing at the blogging game which has its own set of rules and criteria ([-;I agree in terms of 'end' indeed I had thought that our discussion ended last thursday (days ago)

    Peace and Health

  • @gaiagale

What "real true evidence" are you talking about? The evidence I have been talking about is published on PubMed for everyone to read and debate. It seems the "real true evidence" you speak of is only in your head.

I would suggest you read some of the opinions written by practicing doctors on the Science Based Medicine blog and see the overwhelming amount of research that supports vaccination.

I don't know what studies you are talking about. Every legitimate study says vaccines are safe.

  • @rm06c I ran out of character space so "Godwin's Law aside" ;-]) as to "loser" again your term ...all I can say is it takes one to recognize one ([-;

That Sir is a fundamental principle which preceded any scientific discussion/debate and/or criteria/definition cited by you

    the real end ([-;

  • @rootytuners to exclude the living proof ...the living evidence has been the "fatal" element in the collection of information and subsequent data analysis

I have failed to understand why the living evidence has been excluded period and why including living proof/evidence could be construded as "favouring positive outcomes".

  • @gaiagale

Anecdotes are anecdotes. An anecdote is not evidence.

Intuition and anecdotes guided health care for thousands of years before the scientific method. It's results weren't very impressive - as can be seen even in the current age where societies ignore such development of thinking. Even the concept of 'wellness' and 'illness' was (is) hopelessly misunderstood.

Positive anecdotes can be a starting point for serious inquiry, but they are useless in honing an accurate understanding.

  • @rootytuners you started your 2nd paragraph alleging "If you wanted to make money out of people from selling unnecessary drugs" when clearly Bill Gates appeared with the sole purpose of introducing the perspective of money(the concept that programs cost) is evidence (surely enough evidence) that the 'talk' is more about money than the health of the children since he is the most celebrated money grabber of this and the previous century.

I, on the other hand, offered information freely

  • @gaiagale

What is your contention here? Is it that we live in a system that has surpassed that of simple bartering, or your belief that health intervention is somehow an attack on innocents?

So far, with your random attacks on motive and actions of this project to eliminate polio from the world's population, you've only managed to provide two pieces of information. 1) Your dad recovered by determination, and 2) Bill Gates has made a large amount of money.

So far, I don't see your point.

  • @rootytuners I see ...exactly when does sharing one's own opinion; offering information and answering questions become what you allege? ...sincerely? ...there are others who have shared insightful opinions regarding the truth of this "motive and actions of this project to eliminate polio from the world's population" perhaps their perspective will provide greater clarity for you in case you actually want to 'see another point of view'

I wish you clarity really I do :-]) ...and Health!

  • @SilveradoDudeDk yea wtf are you talking about.... Are you suggesting that they quit there efforts and just let kids get paralized.... or that people shouldn't have done anything about small pox. Do you really think the have a group of millions of people who are evil enough to trek into the slums of the world, and in warn torn areas, just so they can spread a disease.

I don't usually get angry from youtube comments, but damn, your perspective is super-warped. YOU NEED HELP

  • @DocSolomon only you are suggesting such things ...did you read your reply?!? ...the speaker did say that many people volunteer to promote the program so why DOES the program cost so much? Who's profiting from the work of the volunteers?

you deny usually getting angry yet you use swearing acronyms and judge harshly a perspective that is different from yours ...perhaps it is you who needs help doc ...just a thought

  • @gaiagale

Your rather weak argument (that someone profits from volunteers) applies to all and any volunteer program of distribution - whether it be food, equipment, aid, or medicine.

Giving soup to those less fortunate on the streets profits the soup manufacturers.. helping victims of natural disasters benefits the manufacturers of all supplies. Your arguments do not shed any discredit to the project - they just reveal a tragic naiveté.

  • @rootytuners alleging weak argument then proceeding to reconstruct my question certainly provides evidence as to where the tragic naivete lies. If a program costs with volunteers then others are profiting.

I have volunteered and served soup ...the food component was all donated to make the soup. I volunteer to help fellow human beings; with organizations that are really about helping each other. I research carefully projects that make claims of helping children ...helping people

  • @gaiagale

"The food component was all donated to make the soup.."

You are not seeing the big picture.. who donated the soup? Was it the food manufacturer? Was it the farmer? Was it the packaging manufacturer? Was it the mining firm who donated the cans? Can you not see that even in any system of supply, there will be those that 'profit'.

If there is an intention to provide health care and disease prevention (or any other material aid) there is need for funding.

  • @rootytuners I think I am seeing the BIG picture. The food was donated by gardeners, by farmers, by neighbours, by people who care about people as opposed to those who care about monetary profit. Of course I see "that in any system of supply, there will be those that 'profit'." it is my point. Everyone profits when people care for each other. When specific 'individuals' use this fundamental principle of human compassion to profit monetarily while others must donate or volunteer...I question

  • @gaiagale

I appreciate the need for concern when altruism may be in danger from predatory profit motives, but THIS surely is a worthy cause - the eradication of this disease. Even if eradication is never achieved, it is theoretically possible, and this effort will at least prevent a greater degree of suffering.

Bill Gates is not profiting from this project, so focusing on his wealth seems misplaced. Vaccines exist, so not using them because they have to be purchased at $1 a piece seems petty.

  • @rootytuners thank-you ...there is indeed evidence for questioning in the title "How we will stop polio for good" when he talks about a 'vaccine project' Vaccines are produced from growing the disease. I'm repeating myself and I'm certain you know it is true.

The talk inspired a standing ovation mostly because people wanted to believe the title and wanted to believe in the integrity of the speaker

Of course Bill Gates is profiting he is the role model of all time for profiting on every level

  • @rootytuners my focus is outside of his wealth but if he thinks it is such a great idea he most definitely can afford to fund the entire project or at the very least persuade the drug companies to donate the vaccines the transportation etc. The vaccines do exist at great cost to all of us ...a price that we have willingly paid over and over again because we care for each other because we believe in each other ...we do indeed use them in fact we tell ourselves we need them ...time to ask why?!?

  • @gaiagale lol your kidding me right....Who's profiting from the volunteers, the people who won't get polio in the future because it become irradicated.

I deny usually getting angry, but in this case i did (lol, thats why i pointed it out). If you consider wtf as an angry swearing acronym then thats too bad for you, most people i know use it to highlight how akward something is to them (kinda like omg). Nice try though.

  • @DocSolomon I'm at a loss as to how to interpret this

if you were asking the speaker "lol your kidding me right" I might have been able to process your reply with understanding...polio vaccination programs introduce polio to people ....in order to make the vaccine scientists must grow more polio so exactly how does It/polio become irradicated?

this project grows polio where it would fail naturally and it provides opportunity to introduce it to people who would rarely if ever contract it

  • @gaiagale the polio that they introduce is attenuated, so its super unlikely to cause the disease. I'm going to assume you don't understand how immunology works (just to play it safe, not to insult you). The attenuated polio is not the same as the regular infectious one. It produces the molecules in our body that allow us to develop natural immunity, but it doesnt really cause a full blown infection. So when the real polio runs can't infect people it will die a natural death.

  • @DocSolomon I appreciate you sharing the theory so clearly I did understand how immunology works but concise explanations are I always worthy of consideration ...I checked 'attenuated' in a dictionary to be sure I understood the meaning so I can still maintain polio reduced, rendered less virulent, made thin/weak/fine is still polio. Attenuated polio is made from "the regular infectious one" so this project is quite simply about something other than stopping polio

    time for straight talk/truth

  • @gaiagale All vaccines (as far as i know) are made from the original virus or bacteria.... sometimes it is the killed form and sometimes its an attenuated live form. Which one they use depends on how well it generates immunity in humans. For polio the live one happens to more immunogenic than the killed one.

This is pretty much how the eradication Small Pox... so now we don't need the small pox vaccine, because it doesn't exist anymore.

  • @SilveradoDudeDk Let me put it another way.... YOU ARE A PART OF THE PROBLEM.
