  • I loved Dark Victory. I was 15 when it first was released. We had role models then. Now who do we emulate? Nothing but filthy language, and sex every 10 minutes. The scripts are bad and now we are watching the "noir classics" on the Internet. Many of them are shown on the links passed on by others and uploaded. No F words, and great scripts. Those were the days.

  • @HeatherGlen33 They couldn't have used the F word even if they wanted to cause of the Hays Code lol

  • An "auto-biography" has a little truth in it. A biography is not factual. Davis slept with many men. Her life was acting, and she adored BJ her only child. She bragged about her housekeeping. BJ wrote the nasty hateful book, about her mother. She dispised her. I think it is terrible after Davis stroke...to have to read the hate for her mother in book stands. I think she never got over it.

  • @HeatherGlen33 I have read her authorised biography, yes people can be cavalier when it comes to the truth. If your husband knew her as a twenty year old then we are going back some years, that would be around 1929/30.I doubt he would give a second look to the pre surgery Demi Moore too so that means nothing.Anyway luckily for you , to quote that old standard, your husband only had eyes for you.

  • I think anyone who says that Bette Davis was not attractive, should see this. She looked wonderful when she made Jezebel.I read her biography,in it she states that that she had a passionate affair with William Wyler-the Director-and he was the love of her life.He coaxed a great performance from her and the love shows in her face. She also said that the scene where she kneels to apologise to Pres, she is in fact ,looking at Wyler, and confesses her love.

  • @TZEITEL10 That's just beautiful. I wish she and Wyler had gotten married. They seem as though they would have been good for each other. Like some sort of dynamic duo. And I completely agree with everything you said. Bette Davis was indeed gorgeous. Though, personally, I think she looks her best in It's Love I'm After (1937) and Dark Victory (1939).

  • @TZEITEL10 Do you think she was attractive? She was no beauty. Her acting surpassed her plainess. She was a great actress. Biographies are useless. My husband knew her when he was selling magazines at age 20. He said he wouldn't give her a second look. She was eccentric, and knew she would eventually be alone.

  • @HeatherGlen33 Well i think she looks at her best in this film ,Jezebel.I would never say that she was a great beauty but then the make up artists never really did her any favours. The opinion on what makes a woman beautiful has changed over the centuries.

I think there were few real beauties in Hollywood,i would say Vivian Leigh was one also Ava Gardner,Grace Kelly,Audrey Hepburn,Michelle Pfeiffer. Many are attractive, there are the Pseudo Barbies who have had surgery to make them who they are.

  • @TZEITEL10 I think she looked best in Dark Victory & It's Love I'm After. But then again I find her uniquely beautiful. To me, Vivien Leigh was the most beautiful with Hedy Lamarr trailing right behind her. And I love how you mentioned Michelle Pfeiffer <3

  • @LexiixoxRoxx There have been some lovely women gracing the screen. I think Bette was attractive in her own way,she was unique. Most people forget her colouring,I have heard her described as a Technicolor photographers dream with her red hair and her bright blue eyes.Deborah Kerr had the same colouring.I think that there are various factors that make someone attractive. Some of the best portraits are good because the sitter is interesting.even those with wrinkles and other blemishes.

  • Love it!! You did an amazing job!!!

  • Thank you so much! That means a lot to me :)

  • Great video!! Love them both!!

  • Thank you! Indeed, both are very beloved :)

  • Yeah they'd get their guys back somehow, it'd be fun to see them fall out along the way, loads of drama!;)

  • Oh, they'd find a way no doubt! And drama is just the perfect word to describe it ;) lol

  • You couldn't have chosen a more spectacular pair;) Beautiful tribute Alexa.

  • Thank you! Wouldn't it have been fabulous if they did a film together? Bette Davis AND Vivien Leigh, what more could you ask for! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • That would've been incredible, though i'm not sure the screen would have been big enough for their talents combined, Scarlett and the Jezebel on one screen lol

  • You make an accurate point! Could you see it? "Scarlett O' Hara Meets Jezebel", what a pair they would be- what a scandal! But isn't that what makes us love them :)

  • They'd be able to take on the world between them;)

  • And much more! They'd also do away with all the southern etiquette of being a lady, and find a way to get their husband's back! Julie would reclaim Pres and Scarlett would find a way to make Rhett come back to her :)

  • This is such a beautiful tribute to two actresses whose star status were at an equal candor! I love the choice of song too!

  • Thank you very much! I stumbled upon the song accidentally, but it certainley worked :)

  • wooow very really pretty woman all.. thanks for up this video, it's great!!!

  • Weren't they? They're very different in looks, but I think Vivien Leigh and Bette Davis were two of the most beautiful actresses to ever grace the silver screen. And thank you for watching! :)

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Beautiful video! I like all the pictures with Vivien!

  • Thanks :)

  • Beautiful video and song:)

Unfortunately,I'm not fan of Bette Davis and not really know her movies, but our lady Vivien gorgeous as always!;)
