  • This is so awesome... You are a great player. Very original an not the same stuff everyone's doing. What groups do you recommend for someone who is just discovering Dream pop and shoegaze?

  • @StewieTravolta The Cocteau Twins is essential listening, as are the solo works of Robin Guthrie.

  • @StewieTravolta old starflyer 59 favorite shoegaze band ever...new stuff good too... lush...swervedriver...my bloody valentine...mogwai...theres also a channel call postrockisagenre very good library of newer bands all time fav is sigur ros and slowdive...sigur ros check out () or parentheses...if you like darker stuff new ulver is freakin amazing...and if you like heavier stuff isis and pelican...anyways hope that helps....all these bands are my favorite in this type genre

  • Also I like how you have covered stoner rock, dream pop, black metal, goth rock. Those are all my favorite genres. Check out my channel gsogoz.

  • What tuning do you use on this? Is it standard or some odd tuning like to C or B?

  • @theplourde Standard tuning.

  • This has got me tempted to go out and buy a guitar, and start leaning!

  • This is very similar to my style of playing except that I do not use a plectrum but fingers and a les paul instead of an SG ;-)

    Clean sound - very nice

  • What type of guitar is this? Also, what kind of amp are you using along with any processors? Thanks! :)

  • @railpressureflip Gibosn SG straight into a Line6 Toneport.

  • @railpressureflip Typo, sorry! Gibson :D

  • You pick cleanly! nice!

  • team sleep?

  • @stringmanboyd Yay Chino! <3

  • this dream pop and post-rock stuff of yours makes me think of Akira Yamaoka, who did the soundtracks for the Silent Hill game series. Love it. Might have to look up some Dream Pop if it's anything like this.

  • @krazyzark yeah man it does sound like silent hill! lol

  • You make me discover this style. Very inspiring !

    Thanks

  • @makunouchi91 Cool. It's a vast and beautiful genre.

  • Where can I learn more chords like these?

  • @LiLD223 On the DVD I'm planning to release in the near future : ) It's focusing on the Gothic style, but really similar voicings and ideas anyway.

  • keep these videos coming!

  • This awesome, this is exactly the type of chirds and style I love to learn to play. Love the spacey/ambient/dreamy sound of this type of playing. Please post more lessons in this style! Would love to see how you'd play solo lines in this style as well!

  • Corey, that`s a really nice lesson. Very melodic! Keep it up Corey, we are watching and learning!

  • I agree with Steve! Though I do love the sound of this stuff! Keep it up can't get enough.

  • Corey still waiting for how to play Goth lesson. Basically you are one of the few guitarists out there who can play Gothic swirling guitar. I would gladly pay for such a lesson.

  • @Stevethesearcher It's coming. I just wrote out a whole a bunch of riffs / exercises the other day. I'm currently working on categorizing everything. A few more ideas and then it is time to film!

  • @gsogoz Great I am looking forward to it. BTW I am going to be at The Mission/Fields of the Nephilim concert in London on the 22nd October. I will video some songs and post them on my channel. Looking forward to hearing lots of swirling guitars at that show.
