It's must actually be an "Old One", from the Lovecraftian mythology. The band's name is Dagon, refering to an elder god in Lovecraft's short stories, "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" and "Dagon". It's a wild guess, but it would fit, since the Order of Dagon changes man into sea dwelling creatures.
