I know exactly how you feel, my mum is also Ghanaian and she was so against me going back to natural. My family have been against me as well as friends and it got me down but I had to stay strong. I had my first perm at 16 which is quite late and I decided to go natural again at 17! I'm 13 months post relaxer.
Its so Hard to keep up with a regiment being a college student away from home:\... It's going to be a year in mid March but I don't think I'm where I'm suppose to be..
So this is where your journey begins. I agree about the balance between not perming and not wanting to cut. That's why I just braid it as I transition. It's been about 5 months so I plan to keep going for about a year or so before I unleash my C4 hair. I just cut a little off before I rebraid....
I know how u feel, my Ghanaian mother opposes me going natural, even though I'm not natural yet. I want to fully start when I go to college in a year. Btw your vids are helping a lot :)
Do people really tell transitioners/naturals that they don't look right with their NATURAL hair ?! That's crazy... do they realize how dumb that sounds ! lol
Your hair looks amazing wanna do my hair like your but my hair isn't like yours so will it work and may I know how ? Waiting 4 more videos from uuu with love
@3xni I'm mixed race and I did that. Where I was working, some "snappy fingered" mix race girls got angry about stick on body gems or w/e and then called me "albino or sumfink" for my braids..... EPIC FAIL :\
i am sooooooo happy i ran across this video i am transitioning and i am about to go crazy i have no idea what too do with my natural hair and the two different textures. i didn't know you transitioned to get your hair the way it is now i loooove your channel and i have been subscribed for a while now. thanks hun.
i sooo love ur twists!!! we r about the same size and i thought if i got twists that long it wud b too much but u r def rockin them!!! i have to wait a few more weeks before i can do my twists bc my hair is jus too short to do them now! *sighs* lol
Thank you for your video!!! I came across it by chance and lately I have been feeling so discouraged about transitioning I have been seeing videos on natural hair and majority have said I will have to eventually do either a mini chop or a big chop. And I don't wan't to cut my hair period. and I have been frustrated because I can't find very many Long Term transitioning videos. And I get no support about my hair from my mom cause she's a hair stylist. Thank you and hope to see more videos!
You've given some really great advice and your videos are really helpful. Im glad that you have decided to share your story and things that you've learned
Did you do your own twists? I had some extra small one back in September, but I went to some Africans and they did them extra tight! I ended up taking them out after a almost two weeks. $200 down the drain. :(
@karmaJUNKEE yeah, i let some africans do mine too and they didnt do it like the picture i showed them but they said they could, and that was also $180 down the drain for me too : ( i never went back after that, including they caused me alot of hair shedding and uneven hairs from cutting fly aways, smh
@LethalPleazure they're called Senegalese twist and their done with regular braiding hair, i used about 5 packs. the hair is twisted from root to tip. Hope that helps

i've been in and out of transitioning my hair. I was wondering how and what do you use for your hair while its in braids?
this is a broad question for anyone to hit me back with their answer.
THESE ANSWERS WILL GIVE ME MOTIVATION COS I DESPERATELY DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO PERMS,
i wash my hair while its in braids, cos i keep them in for 5 months..so any special organic creams that work
let me kno
