I know exactly how you feel, my mum is also Ghanaian and she was so against me going back to natural. My family have been against me as well as friends and it got me down but I had to stay strong. I had my first perm at 16 which is quite late and I decided to go natural again at 17! I'm 13 months post relaxer.

So this is where your journey begins. I agree about the balance between not perming and not wanting to cut. That's why I just braid it as I transition. It's been about 5 months so I plan to keep going for about a year or so before I unleash my C4 hair. I just cut a little off before I rebraid....

I came across it by chance and lately I have been feeling so discouraged about transitioning I have been seeing videos on natural hair and majority have said I will have to eventually do either a mini chop or a big chop. And I don't wan't to cut my hair period. and I have been frustrated because I can't find very many Long Term transitioning videos. Did you do your own twists? I had some extra small one back in September, but I went to some Africans and they did them extra tight! I ended up taking them out after a almost two weeks. $200 down the drain. :(

I want some bigger ones next month.

@karmaJUNKEE yeah, i let some africans do mine too and they didnt do it like the picture i showed them but they said they could, and that was also $180 down the drain for me too : ( i never went back after that, including they caused me alot of hair shedding and uneven hairs from cutting fly aways, smh

@LethalPleazure they're called Senegalese twist and their done with regular braiding hair, i used about 5 packs. the hair is twisted from root to tip. Hope that helps
