yeah i had a 10 second ls1 and almost had one of these take me that did not even have that much work done. I gained a new found respect for dsm and its twice as good on gas lol when not on boost
want a helpful hint. i used to NHRA drag race and one of the biggest ways your loosing a good bit of time is your launch. i dont know when your exactly leaving and what your reaction time is, but what you can try and do is lift your foot off the clutch in between the bottom yellow bulb and the green one.
simply put the better your launch and reaction time the better chance you have at winning
@Judders2326 this is funny cuz if u actually did drag then u would kno what u just said about reaction time makin a difference in ur et is complete bs
Its a stock motor, 4G63 internals (the DSM engine in this vid) are rated for about 550 hp with proper tuning. The 420A motor is the one you need to replace the internals in, since they're shit.
fastssturbo is such a punk hahahahah. great ride man. I have a 2G eclipse and if I can get even into the 11's ill be happy. great inspiration bro. nice job
but what about the whole issue of "crankwalk" that 7 bolts are more likely to get? i want a gsx but im not sure if i should keep the stock 7 bolt in or swap a 6bolt.
Then buy a 1g or 6-bolt swap a 2g. It's not the engine that's fragile. It's the transmissions that you'll be replacing left and right. That's going to be the case whether you have 6 bolts or 7 because a 2g GSX is heavy as hell. I haven't yet had the first problem with my 7-bolt, though.
nice 2g here and not all 7bolts get crankwalk my current 97 2g talon is at 330000k and i have next to no play on my crank it may need a set of rings now though on the original motor also needs a new center diff i blew that with my new cc 6 puck ceramic clutch practicing launching whoops¡ check my 2g out steve's dsm first time out
@fastssturbo the This proves that you're an idiot. You keep calling these motors the "1G motor" or "2G motor". If you're going to act like you know what you're talking about you would know that the 1G wasn't only 6bolt. The 7bolt came into play I believe halfway through the year 1992, which would make a 1G ALSO a 7bolt. The 1G motor has a few perks like a better intake manifold, etc. but not necessarily stronger. Study, you obviously need it.
what about tranny? stock?

@Judders2326 Reaction time has nothing to do with it. You can make a 10 second pass waiting 10 seconds at the tree.

There's nothing wrong with a good 7-bolt. 155k miles on mine. 12.2's daily driven on pump gas ain't no joke...
...but 10's on a factory bottom end Cory, holy kudos man!
Great job!

crankwalk can happen in any motor.. 7 bolts are more prone to it but not all 7 bolts walk

this is a stock 7 bolt bottom end and head with exception of drop on 272s. This car is local to me and is pretty nice.

@fastssturbo You should never say "I know alot more than you", theres always a bigger and much smarter fish.
