  • For those who are asking:

This song is from their first album.

    It's a bonus track.

  • Falconer is just too good.

  • Mathias Blad 4 President!!!

  • that i have write is the song on english. Per Tyrsson's daughters in Vänge Oh how chilly their woods They were fast asleep a long time ago Whilst the woods burst into leaf The youngest was the first one to awake She soon awoke the others They sat themselves down upon their beds And plaited the hair on each other's heads Then they dressed in clothes of silk And made their way to church
  • When they came to Vänga hill They met three robbers who held them still "Pray, would you care to become robbers' wives? Or would you rather lose your lives?" "We would not care to become robbers' wives. We would much rather lose our lives." They chopped their heads off on birch-wood stem And soon three wells sprung forth by them The bodies were dug down in muddy ground, The clothes they carried to Vänga town.
  • As they arrived in Vänga farm Fru Karin came to greet them. "Say, would you care to buy clothes of silk That nine maidens have knitted and crotcheted?" "Open your bundles and let me see Maybe I know them, all three." Fru Karin quivers as never before And runs to Per Tyrsson who stands by the door "There are three robbers outside our farm They've gotten rid of our daughters" Per Tyrsson grabs his sword and then He runs to slay the two older men.
  • He asked the third one before he stroke "Who is your father and mother?" "Our father Per Tyrsson in Vänge, Our mother Fru Karin in Skränge." Per Tyrsson went to the smithy And forged himself iron round his waist. "What shall our retribution be?" "We'll build a church out of stone and lime." "Kärna Church shall be its name" Oh how chilly their woods "Oh, how willingly we will build it ." Whilst the woods burst into leaf
  • Any1 who doesnt understand the language who thinks this sounds good? I hear alot that swedish sounds like we are singing when we dont.

  • For those who dont understand this the song is about three sisters who are killed by three robbers possibly raped too but thats up to speculation The robbers try to sell the dead sisters clothes back to the girls parents when the parents,Tryssons and Karin, realize that the clothes belonged to their daughters. So the father kills the two eldest robbers and the youngest basically reveals that Tryssons and Karin are his parents and that they killed their sisters and Tryssons killed his sons

  • Mycket Braa ! long time no hear this song :D

  • Heard about them today, gotta say i could never imagine such band existed. Its totally awesome! looping them all weekend long!

  • i am proud of my sweden which i lives in hooaaah

  • @PixPoint haha nice

  • I almost feel like I am drinking with them... Brilliant XD

  • Skal!

  • Såg att det var några som undrade var texten kom ifrån och varför den har en sådan "konstig" text. Den är väldigt gammal, exakt hur gammal kommer jag inte ihåg, men tror att den skrevs under 1500-talet. Självklart så har man gjort om texten så den passar dagens svenska ^^

  • Awesome bassline...

  • Comment removed

  • Östgöte guskelov!

  • hmmm, swedes got some good power metal

  • This is greate epic music!

I'm add Falconer to favorites bands!

    Heil Odin og algodum!

  • Jag förstår inte riktigt vad det är dom sjunger mellan "orginal raderna" låter som "kaller va deras skog" och "medans skogen han Lövas" ? Förstår inte riktigt hur/varför det är med..

  • @AhhYeahNice

Det hör som till dikten. men att säga; Och skogen han lövas var ett sätt att säga höst.

    Knoppas = Vår

    Blommar = Sommar

    Lövas = Höst

    Glittra = Vinter

  • Ein tolles episches Lied !!!

    Super Band ...

    I hear Falconer since 2002 ...

They play great medieval rock !!!

  • Ruskigt bra låt detta, bandet förövrigt är helt otroligt! Detta med Mattias på sång!

    Amazing song!!!

  • Hailing Falconer from Argentina!

  • dude i freaking love swedish people they are amazing. i mean i am irish and proud of it but it would be pretty snazzy to be swedish

  • @ClayBurton666 If you're Irish, you're probably about a quarter Swedish anyway, if you get my meaning.

  • dude, you are my new best friend.

  • @ClayBurton666 huh,i'm pretty much everything besides irish

    and italian :3

  • the lyrics get pretty metal at one part

  • This just became my new favorite band!

  • hey it would be awsome if someone will send me the lyrics in english my Girlfriend is swedish and said that this was old swedisch or something (not a good listner :P )

But would be awsome if someone could send me :)

  • ÄLskar den här låten. Var kan man ladda ner den?

  • Well my swedish isnt very good but this is a pretty good song

  • This song reminds me of Wes Cravens classical horrorfilm "Last house to the left". Not the song itself but the story in it.

  • kan någon förklara texten i låten... jag måste ha missat något...

var de hans söner eller var det döttrarna han högg?

  • Vallarna (Banditerna?) hög ihjäl döttrarna, tog deras klänningar och skulle sälja dem. Försökte sälja dem till mamman. Hon känner igen dem och skickar Per på dem. Han hugger ner 2 av dem, frågar den sista vem fadern och modern är.

Per Tyrsson I Vänge, Fru Karin i Skränge.

  • Zidane, it's supposed to be, jag talar inte bra svenska,

  • If anyone want help with studying swedish, send me a message, i talk both fluent english and swedish

  • @jackassonfire Almost :) Only slight grammar mistakes, but still. "I speak fluent English and Swedish" Would be perfect.

Also, I am interested at learning Swedish, but not at any kind of an express rate. Just a few words here and there to gradually learn it would be fantastic, if the offer still stands

  • Btw, Swedish is easier if you speak very good (or are a native) of English or German.

Jag tala Svenska inte bra, but English is helping, starting from my native Italian would've been very tough. When I want to try and translate something, I do it directly to English.

  • Kinda same here, I'm learning swedish and its really easy if you can speak english, esspecially that i'm native hungarian speaker, so expect finnish i cant compare anything to other languages :) And learning a totally weird grammar ect. is really hard.

  • It's similar if you see it in a text ( and sometimes ) but when a swedish is talking or singing is kinda hard to understand , but yeah is easier if u first learn english

  • I've noticed when reading the translations and hearing the song that the structure and some of the words are very similar. Swedish just sounds better.

  • Nice song, based on the same ballad's Virgin Spring is taken from.

I wonder, do they use the original words of the ballad? Cause we studied it in Swedish Language course, and it'd be nice to give it a music

  • Fan vad bra! Ni värmer min slitna själ:)

  • swedish/störtskön låt... och synd om alla som inte förstår engelska

english/ awesome song.. and bad for u all that cant understand swedish

  • what album is this from because I want it badly.

  • its from their first album.

  • the self titled one? It didn't come on the North American release :(

  • jag bor i vänge och vad menar du med VB, fjollorni? det är mer vänge krapparna som styr där:D kolla videon jag svarade med:D

  • Swedish metalbands kicks ass!!!! \m/ xD

  • I don't understand Swedish, but I LOVE this song.

  • Swedish is really easy if you speak it, you can't learn it from only reading really =P, Its alot of grammar that is just lame learning the rules for, speak it and you have the language in a second, and english has like 5 times more words than Swedish... And we use like 10 times less words in trivial sweden than englishmen does...

  • sweedish, english, and german are all germanic languages. anyone who knows english could probably learn sweedish.

  • Jätte bra låt :D

    Awsome song:D

  • Damn så dere syter! Så vanskelig er det ikke!

  • For god sake, Swedes we can't claim that Swedish easy to learn, Maby to us it is, But for english people its really difficult..

  • I've spoken English all my life, and I had no trouble learning Swedish.

  • The men are not robbers in the firstplace, they are herdsmen("vallare").And they ask the girls to become their wives ("vallareviv"). Since the girls denies, they are killed. When they later tries to sell the dresses to the girls mother, she recognizes their silkdresses .Their father kills two of the three men. Before he kills the third, he ask him whom their mother and father is. He replys with the man and the ladys name.(something that should indicate that they also are THEIR parents as well!?

  • Menar dom Vänge på Gotland? Eller finns det fler? Isåfall bor jag inte långt därifrån..

  • Enl engelska wikipedia texten om den visan som sången är byggd på: The location Vänge is in Malmskogen in Östergötland, Sweden.

  • Finns ett vänge nära Uppsala med.

  • Finns ett Vänge i Uppsala! Där är jag uppväxt

VB heter gänget som styr där!

  • The problem is that Swedish is one of the hardest languages to learn... And It's have pretty anoying grammar too..

  • Is swedish one of the hardest language? Is that what you think or is it so? :P

Anoying grammar? I think we've got easier grammar than many other languages.. bot okay, I should probably just shut up since Im swedish xD

  • Swedish isn't too complicated. There certainly are worse.

  • Yeah, finnish for example! D: It's totally a bitch to learn for those who don't know it xD

  • I loooove this song!!! I don't really understand it, but...it's souns "magical"! So...touchy. xD Oh, and... Falconer are the best!!!!

  • This song is a medieval ballad. So it can be a bit hard to understand the meaning...

  • Can a swedish friend explain the story here? I've found english translation but its still a bit complicated. Who are the robbers who killed the ladies? Own brothers? How don't they know their fathers and vice versa?

  • by the way, i'm not comparing anything.. i think swedish is a beautiful language, it sounds very smooth to a portuguese speaker's ear :P

  • if you think swedish is hard to learn, try portuguese... even most native portuguese speakers can't speak it correctly :P

  • I dunno why.. I think most latin languages are difficult to learn. maybe because there are faaaar to many exceptions in their grammar..

  • actually portuguese doesen't have that much exceptions, but the problem is that people find it hard to understand how the language works (i don't think it's a quality, by the way.. i like romance languages' complexity :P)... i mean languages like english are far more simple ... (i can't say all germanic languages are like this cos among them all i can only speak english)

but wtf.. the important thing is that this song is awesome and falconer ruuules!!! \,,/

  • For a English speaker, there is no way Swedish could be harder than Japanese or Chinese, to learn. Not only would you have a new way of reading, as with Japanese and Chinese, but we speak a Germanic language in general, which Swedish is also of. Just sayin.

  • that is latin, but yes I see what you mean

  • Svenska äger!! Även detta bandet ser fram emot deras nya album denna månaden.

  • Jag kan inte tala svenska, men detta är fortfarande en stor låt!

  • kman89swe vad heter du? jag bor också i vänge:)

  • swedish songs always sound so beautiful :)

It's a nice contrast between the "hard" vocals and the sweet melodie. If I get some time and money, I'm going to learn swedish

  • I agree. Believe it or not, this song actually inspired me to start learning Svenska! ;)

  • he, cool :) But I think it will get me a long time to manage the 'R' :D

  • Just to let you know. Swedish is one of the hardest language in the world to learn.;-P

  • it depends.. for example I doubt it would be hard for a Norwegian to learn it. from what I've seen French seems a bit harder.. or even Romanian.. but well, I can't tell to much, after all I have no idea how Swedish grammar is...

  • Sweidish grammar is really strange sometimes I don't understand how their thinking.XD

  • german is not that easy either. harder than french by far

  • I wouldn't know, I've read German, but not French. It is said that Swedish should be the hardest language to learn because of it's grammar. It's even harder then Japanese or Chinese.:-S

  • Japanese grammar is pretty easy anyway.. at least written grammar; they make the difference between singular and plural from the context or something like that. anyway, I think it depends what your mother language is.. I can barely red any Swedish, yet I find it really easy to read Japanese. cause somehow they have most of the reading rules that exist in Romanian. oh well. anyway, it's all about determination :)

  • That sounds cool.:-P I'd like to learn some Japanese, but haven't had the opportunity to do so.:-( Anyway this song is really good. I hope your language lessons goes well.;-)

  • haha, I'm still mixed up.. 'cause I'm also trying to learn Norwegian.. or at least one of those 2.. I don't know what to continue with lol. anyway thanks <3

  • No problem.;-) Swedes understand Norwegian and the other way around. Denmark, Sweden and Norway is almost the same. You understand most of it if you understand one language,;-) Then it's just to learn the few words that are different.;-)

  • Try learning the 15++ cases of finnish. How horrid :P

Or vietnamese, where even the smallest words have 5+ meanings, only discernable by minute tonal variations :)

  • tss swedish is really easy and the grammar isnt hard either give me an example of something strange in swedish

  • lagom?

  • det e ju skitenkelt!!!

  • översätt de till engelska då

  • oh my God, I love this song.. I so wish I could talk Swedish.. <3

  • Underbar låt! Älskar den!

  • Jag bor i vänge ;)

  • Yeahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

  • va fan är det här

  • Denne låten e grym... Många covers på den finns, dom flesta låter likadana tycker jag :P

  • Didn't they get a new singer? This is the old one, isn't it? I don't really know much about when they changed, but this is the first time I've noticed this album cover on here, which leads me to believe that a: I've not been paying attention, or b: This is a newer album.

  • det är så bra!!!!!

  • its all about tre sisters that lived in a small village long time ago, the name on the villige is vänge. every sister has a house the houses is steal ramaning and my friend is living in one of them:) mail me if you wanna now more...

  • could anyone translate this song? sounds great, thanks
