everyone thinks slapping a vtec head on a d15 and using a rpm controller to activate vtec, is real vtec. they aren't taking into consideration engine temp, oil pressure, and that rpm controller will not change your fuel map, so you gain 0 hp gain, you may actually be hurting performance.

@automotiveDIY No, you still gain HP for the compression increase, and the cam if it was a JDM vtec cam. You might not gain as much because fuel and timing maps will be off, but this is a gain to be had.

That's alright. Some people don't understand Honda's so they make silly comments due to their ignorance. A VTEC Pressure Switch is a sensor that tells the computer it is OK to engage VTEC. Since VTEC operates on oil pressure, if the required amount of pressure isn't there, the system will not behave correctly.
