hey thanks. im not even sure what he has, lol, i know he dont drive the truck he hauls it to shows and what now... but i think im just gonna give him cash and tell them to order them:) :) but thanks for replyingg!!! :))
looking to order hid lights for a gift for someone. dont know ANYTHING about them. looking to get hid 8000k low and high beam kits. or so you need two kits. lookin for somehelp!
I would not get a HID kit for any headlights housing w/o a projector bulb with the proper cut-off line. They will be blinding on coming traffic. Also I would not advise any kit over 6000k unless you want beam that produces purple color. 5200-6000k would be the best.
does this unit have a projector or are you using the standard oem, i have heard that standard oem cant take hid but i have seen a few where the beam pattern is legal and can't see the issue.
God damn people scared of the dark.... Bright headlights is my biggest pet peeve at night. People get damn bright ass headlights so THEY can see and blind any poor bastard coming towards them! Its dangerous!!! The cut off line on these does look good.... But what about when you hit a bump or are going over a crest etc. Just learn to see in the dark I say
@MalliganTheUFO Not at all like that my friend. As long as it's factory and not a hack job with reflectors, oncoming they look dimmer than regular halogens because of the cutoff. You see that sharp line, properly it is always under the windshield of oncomings.
@Latincitizen all new cars with extremely bright lights have automatic height adjustment, so they never hit the face of the people in the oncoming car.
did you get a kit for this? if so, do you remember what the brand was? there's so many out there, and I'm hesitant to buy from a no name company that's in China (not to be hatin or anythin)
The IS300 HID is OEM HID so the reflector was designed specifically to reduce glare also it has auto-leveling feature. The 06+ IS gained projectors and the HID headlights was a option.
no actually I have 02 jetta and I was thinking to buy HID kit. I dont have stock head light. I have halo headlights and each head light has 2 angel eye 1 low and1 high beam. So is that mean I have to get 2 hid kit or should i just get the low ones?
I just got mine kit yesterday from SparkHID DoTCoM, install it today, man what a big difference. LOVE THEM, WILL EVER GO BACK TO HALOGEN BULBS. Nice, Bright and clear. can see all the pot holes and speed bumps ect.... GOOD vision sparkhid dotcom
Why in the world Honda can't offer this type of headlamp on it's cars here in the U.S. is beyond me. I LOVE the HID bi-xenon headlamps. Unfortunately, it seems like you have to buy a "luxury" car nowadays if you want this type of headlamp.
if you can affort a luxury car then retrofit your own car :) that's the way it works, but remember don't put a plug and play kit because someday a car will crash you in the front of your car because he was blind by the HID reflector kit lol
I would prefer two beam system over bixenon because some time the solernoid inside the projector will fail, instead you can get an HID high beam lol, yes I know it take longer time to warm up but that just my opinion lol. =P
HID high beams are useless, your light output should be sufficient enough with lowbeams and, Not all reflecter setups are bad with HID's the 2007+ Nissan Altima's have very sharp cut-off lines with HID kits.
Ah nah Halogen light wave is different than HID so therefore if your halogen reflector is dam good but you still have glare not a clear cut like HID projector. Whos say you won't need high beam? I got HID in my high beam also. I just love to light up the whole road in my neighborhood.
ahh you kidding me Dexion845!? try driving down a dark country road and trying to spot wildlife with no road sense at highway speeds (country road = skinny highway with sharp bends & wildlife)and see if lowbeams would be sufficient enough to let you do that safley.
bright HID lights and fog are not best friends. The ugly yellow light is the edge for fog conditions. white, high-K light causes the vapor to reflect back at you so instead of seeing dark nothing, you see bright nothing. Yellow light doesn't reflect fog like that.
@codithsaves Scientist have proven that wrong from physics perspective. But from a biological perspective you are right. I remember having in 6000K on a foggy night. I could not see SHIT. Other cars simply overtook me and sped away but if i dare followed them [crash]
I now have 5000K and it's much better. I can imagine what yellow hid fogs would do :)
@codithsaves so..............go with the ugly yellow? i wanted them all to match low, high, fog but i will keep low, high the same and get ugly yellow for fog?h.i.d's are the shit
you don't know much about HIDs I see. Bi-Xenon means it's all one bulb, just when you put your high beams on the shield is moved out of the way making all the light show.
i know more about hid's than you might think. i thought he had a separate hid kit for his high beams haha. i know how bixenon works. i had acura tl bixenon projectors retrofited into my previous car which by the way is awsome!
skylinedl69 is correct. I do have a separate HID kit for high beam reflector in addition to the bi-xenon low beam and HID fog light. Yea, its bad for the HID, I only use the high beam in a very very foggy condition, also, I disabled the DRL, plus it looks nice :)
cool, I guess if you have money to waste, that's on you... how bout putting HIDs in your reverse lights? LOL (joke) But really, I can't imagine being anywhere and not being able to see with just my low beam HIDs. You must be deep in the country mannnn, lol
but i have high beams on my e46 bt when i put them on there is no difference - thy look just like the low beam?

Do your HID's make a noise (kinda like they shift in their place) when you switch on the high beams?
JazzPianoMarvin 2 years ago
The noise is coming from the solenoid that controls the bi-xenon. The HID light however does not make noise.

Besides, halogen projectors and reflectors aren't designed to have HIDs.
