@chunhaylee Are you really judging her based on what she's wearing? Maybe she's just not pretentious enough to think that her attire is really going to impact her performance.
Beautiful performance... there are few artists of the '00s that really held their own, with nobody coming close to what they achieved, and cat power is one of them
You are incredible Chan. I just hope you didint fool around with that gapped tooth schizoid mutual admiration society called Dave Lettermen. The guy may come across as a loveable witty goon but believe me he is sexually ruthless.
whoever states negative criteria may know about theoretical music but definitely not about the art of music. her voice is a precious one you come accross seldom these days.
My name is Lonna Marie and if you like this song you might find some of my music equally intriguing. I'm very influenced by Sara Bareillis, Lily Allen, Ingrid Michaelson and other artists of their nature. If you have a moment, visit my page and take a listen! Let me know what you think :) Thanks for taking the time and hope you can find something to your liking!
Of course I can. Feist makes light-hearted pop/torch music... (and I HAVE heard all three of her albums in the hope that I would find something redeeming. Only the second has some decent stuff on it).
The only album Cat Power has in her catalog even resembling pop music is her most recent covers record. Have you actually even heard her first 6 albums?
What makes them so similar? The fact that they're both skinny white women?
It's like saying Bjork and Lucinda Williams are similar.
They're Indie girls-with-guitars and many people have the habit of grouping all Indie female solo artists together, even though they often sound very different. It's the concept that binds them together in people's minds.
I enjoy Feist's music, but its quality is far less consistant than Chan's. When Feist does stuff like "Lonely Lonely", "Honey Honey" and "Secret Heart" she really shines but then she does songs like "I Feel it All" and "My Moon, My Man" that are cringingly Popy.
I miss this era of cat power.....stripped. down...gladi I saw her 23 times starting when she was 19....love chan

What does it matter? They're two completely different artists with two completely different styles.
It's like asking: "who was first? Motorhead or Pink Floyd????"
bigstereo 3 years ago 2
that's bullshit man, they may not be identic, but you can't say they are two completely different artists with two completely different styles!
