i got over 7000 running a VMWare MAC OS x 10.6 virtual maching. the pc itself gets around 8300 and nly cost me $750 dollars to build :P

You seem to be running the 32 bit version of Geekbench. You need to click on that middle Icon for the x64 since OS X is a 64 bit OS. That is why you're getting low numbers. Run the middle one and it should improve.
