@MrMvt333 Except that under Reagonomics the percentage of those in poverty lowered and the percentage of poor people also lowered. Remember the whole 20 million jobs created. Then we could bring in the fact that the quality of life also increased for the poor. Instead of just bringing up lies how about you look at the facts.
But Juan makes a good point. The GOP has supported big government spending programs that increased the deficit. Let's face it in terms of deficits, Bush and Reagan are certainly not blameless. And what does the GOP do in 2008, they gave us McCain as their candidate. Isn't it time for the GOP to take the "small government" out of their platform as it only makes them look hypocritical.
@mtoasty The GOP didn't give us John McCain, the voters did. Part of the problem was that many Democrats voted the Republican primaries and chose McCain. The same can be true for Republicans voting the Democratic primaries and choosing Hillary Clinton. We need to change the GOP from the ground up. I believe that since voters are now awake they will do much of that the next election.
Seriously, Americans will become poorer because obama's reckless fiscal and monetary policies are devaluing the USD, resulting in higher taxes and inflation.
Anyone with basic knowledge of economics knows that higher taxes and inflation are the main reasons why people get poorer. And, at this moment obama controls both.
The cost of living will go up and people will be forced to rely on govn't. If you control the economy you control the people.
Oh, by the way I forgot to mention that the growth from 2.7 Trillion Dollars to 5.0 Trillion Dollars during President Reagans presidency is not the largest expansion of GDP in US history.
Mr. Krauthammer is factually incorrect. Under Reagan the US GDP grew from approximately 2.7 Trillion in 1980 to 5.0 Trillion in 1988 (approximate numbers furnished). Also, all through the Reagan years there was never a budget surplus. There was only a deficit. These are facts and not made up unlike Mr. Krauthammer's statement. Mr. Juan Williams is deficient in facts and could not correct Mr. Krauthammer immediately. Please do not dislike me because I point out facts, only if I mislead you.
SMACK!!! This is an example of why I LOVE Krauthammer ; so supremely intelligent that he blows people's socks off . The other network pundits look like simpletons compared to the big K. Wish to God Krauthammer would run for POTUS.
Straw poll: do you believe that the actions, policies and tactics of The Anointed One and his Czars (Commissars) and the Pelosi-Reid Axis, will lead to even the second longest American economic expansion ... starting anytime during the next 3 years?
@Obamaphiliac krauthammer's great. The guys been through a lot in his life. He was paralyzed in his frist year at Harvard in a diving accident. Then he become an MD and was a liscenced psychiatrist. Heck of a smart guy...
reaganomics lead to the top 1 percent taking almost all of the newly created wealth, while only leaving sparcities for the rest...

Instead of tricke-down wealth, Obama and the Demoncraps have trickle-up poverty.

@SigalaSigala It's better than trickle-up revolution. Remember, the ones on the bottom have nothing to lose.
