  • too bad the oil lobiest won't let our lawmakers bring these cars to the US :- (

  • Meh! My 02 TDI gets better milage. I'll stick with 02s and 03s.

  • i drive a 1999 2.5TDI audi a6 avant, its also kinda economical and has power. but my dad drives a 2006 jetta 1.9TDI, and i fucking want to get that jetta :D mabye next year :D and anyway volkswagen made a great car i dont know how its in USA standarts, but in european standarts the jetta gets with 6.2 liters of diesel to a 100 km in very agressive driving :D

  • my vw tdi needs a carbeurator

  • bmw 335d twin turbo

  • i want one!!

  • It´s funny that they market the technology as new in order to introduce it into the states. My 130hp Vw tdi is from 98 and my dad´s 195hp volvo tdi from 2000. The gas mileage virtually hasn´t change since. ok mainly because the cars got heavier

  • The near zero emissions is new and thats why it can be introduced into the states. Plus the States just mandated the ultra low suler diesel fuel in 2007.

  • its not a performance car in the sense of going fast...but it will out pull any 2.0 gas engine...and it will be better and easier to drive up the rocky mountains

  • The DSG is also very jerky in this car. The car overall is fantastic, although I recommend the manual transmission and upgrade to the navigation stereo.

  • It shouldn't be. Only Mexican made DSGs' are known to have issues, but they're now recalling them.

  • 60 miles per gallon on fuel that is cheaper than regular gasoline now! Just bought my Reflex silver Sportwagon TDI with black leather interior. Why do I have to go to the Germans to buy a real car? The US companies should be be building this kind of car!

  • But they don't, because they didn't develop this technology. But GM owns Opel, which buys its engines from Fiat, so technically, GMs' American brands should have acces to these and alse PSA (Peugeot) sold its diesel motor division to Ford last year so, they should be arriving in US in a couple of years.

  • @lumster US would not make enough money with cars that use almost no gas.

  • I got one coming. Want more power? install a power module! 140hp>170hp! 236ft/lbs>280ft/lbs!

  • Please tell me where I can buy this power module =) I'm waiting for our '09 VW SportWagen TDi. I love diesel and its torque, and the travel range on one tank is RIDICULOUSLY long =)

  • ""0-60 in 8.2 seconds which is quite rapid."

    Yeah, if you're a snail. "

It's good for a diesel, but I agree. I'd rather have a Jetta 2.0T for performance. But if you're looking for reliability and MPG the TDI is superior to the 2.0T and the standard Jetta 2.5L.

  • yeah it's not that fast 0-60. especially in the manual.. you have to shift a bunch to get there lol.

but in real world driving it's rather nice... Driving on the freeway i just give it a little gas and zoom, it goes. I never have to downshift on hills, and it feels really... idk how to explain it. It feels like it is "supported" like you're not just gliding along, it's strong underneath you, it feels expensive.

  • ya but what about reliability, costs more in the long run than a jap car

  • hahahahah your name is KELLY!!!.....me too :( lol

  • at 1:49

    thats mine

    i love mine

    spread the word!

  • Weld 2 engines together and drop it back in and get 4WD.

    W8 TDI Quattro! w-w-wwat!
