I'd like to eventually mod my S to include either a supercharger or turbo but seeing as this is still my daily car, it's probably not the most sensible thing to do right now!
I am thinking about including an induction kit such as this though. I've read it gives an extra 10hp or so. Is this true? Also how does it alter the sound compared to the standard intake kit? Thanks.
@STeroidsnicca actually the above mentioned is incorrect, even in the handbook manual it says that the cover is one there for one reason only, a "silencer", do to the amount of air that will pass through a paper filter like the one that comes in the car it makes a whistling sound when its off, and Honda wanted to avoid this, you will get way more airflow with it off, its NOT a heat protector, its a silencer and thats it, even says so on the plastic.
@zVlPERz Depends on environmetal factors and running conditions, but I have very well read reviews on Dyno results actually dropping when taking the box cover off. Really depends on temperature conditions/heatsink.
@andydt0782 Hp gains from an aftermarket intake kit on an S really depends on what intale you get. Most high-cost intakes are very miseading as there are actually instances where people lost Hp after installing these aft market intakes.People really look over the potential of the S stock air box. Do some research on every single intake that your interested in,that includes looking for Dyno specs and reviews. I have read numerous good reviews about the Fujita F5 intake kit for a start.
Although it does sound better, it does hurt horsepower slightly, 2-3 hp due to heat. Which isn't much. IMO I would leave the cover on.

It's just a k&N filter, not an intake kit. It's all stock besides the filter, i just took the intake cover off.

@nd02av is the S2000 faster with air box cover off or on.

nope bone stock, just the K&N filter. It was shot in the garage so that might have affected the sound a little bit.

I have the same setup, and it definately does not sound like that...did you do anything else?
