  • New York really needs to be in the olynpics

  • Ewwwwwwwwwww amazing video and amazing musics, but not is the correct for a candidate city in olympics

  • nyc 2012 would have benn good but london 2012 wil be fantastic

  • good thing this did not happen.

with budget deficits that the mayor-for-life wants to fill by cutting essential services, can you imagine what this scheme would have cost?

    was never a good idea.

  • I can't see the olympics going to NYC anyway to be honest

  • STEPHEN CARL MURPHY CO.

  • Support our dream ! NYC2020!

  • South Africa 2020, and Chicago 2024 Olympics (if they decide to bid) Rio is more violent, the police force is actually the entire SWAT, lack of international appeal, and no vision of normal people enjoying themselves it was just a bid video of the beach, and the Jesus statue and they won. Tokyo doesn't have that home feeling as in theres to much work and business and no sight of ppl enjoying themselves in the park or with family than in Chicago.

  • I love NY so much, but this video didn't really do it for me =/

Not really the way I see NY either.

Why would they bother showing the time of day when its just in black and white lol?

  • nice vid shows u have musicians

  • @thebest1212100 the best in the world my man

  • Everyone, Both cities are very nice end off. it doesn't matter how big they are, they both have different values, i mean, I like london for the culture and history, which New york doesnt have...because it's not really that old. But then i like new york because it's in america, they both have their pros and cons, so stop arguing everyone, i mean who cares about the fucking size of a park?! haha.

  • " like london for the culture and history, which New york doesnt have"

how would you define culture? New York is much more culturally diverse then London. I dont think being old means you automanically have culture. :P

  • but i mean, theres much more of a background to the city, i mean i went to the museum in New York, and there wasn't really anything that dated back that far, and i was quite dissapointed, i just like London because you can walk round a see a mix of the old and new incorporated together, where as in New York they cover all their buildings in glass, and I saw them in the process of covering a really nice old building completely in glass, they didn't even take the windows from the inside out!

  • ive been all over europe and london hardly comes to mind when i think of cities with history. florence and rome come to mind.

i was in london, stayed at marble arch, and i was actually very dissapointed with a few things. number 1 a 4 star hotel in london is probably a 2 star in new york. 2 the food around london was pretty bad, at times aweful. and 3 really, it didnt looks any different then any other european city. nothing unique

i still liked it, but new york is just a more impressive city

  • Well, thats your opinion, you obviously didn't do enough research into staying at a nice hotel, and eating at nice restaurants, The only nice-ish part of New York is Manhatten, the rest is disgusting! i went up to China town and i was repulsed, and then we went to Brooklyn and I'm not even going there, all cities have they're nice parts and their bad parts, Londons nice parts are down by Buckingham palace, London eye, Big Ben, all Westminster way,

  • as for food. i ate at a few good places, but most of them were subpar. i guess im just spoiled maybe, seeing as new york has the best restraunts in the world.

outisde of manhattan? parts of brooklyn are beautiful. i liveds in brooklyn heights. amazing place. and long island is very wealthy. its also importaant to note new york is the safest city in the us, and much safer then london.

we had left london on a tour bus to the city of bath, and believ me, london has its horrible looking parts too

  • To be honest, i don't know why your slagging of London because New York isn't much better, I love being English and going to London, it's an amazing place. Your just jealous we got the Olympics and you didn't!

Can i also say, next time you want a nice hotel, go to the nice parts of London as i said, and stay at the Marriot or the Hilton.

  • lol. And your opinion of london i disagree with. i did plenty of research before going. i paicked a FOUR STAR hotel. Again, this is a common theme in europe. your star rating system is not as maticulous as americas, but i was not expecting to be in the dump of a hotel i actually arrived at. there werent even ice machines

  • and again, this was my opinion of london before you got the olympics. i really dont care. new york state has seen the olympics twice.

london is an ok city, but what ive seenof europe i would definetly not call it the best anything. i used the subways thinking they would be cleaner then new yorks. i still remember the familiar smell of piss.

new york is a more impressive city to me. its 24 hours, while london closes at 3am. i guess im just used to it.

  • you mentioned history, actually i was dissapointed with london for that aspect. after having been to rome and seeing what true history looks like, london didnt look like any special. in fact its architecture didnt look different from any other european city. it was just... i dont know, if you showed me a picture of london i wouldnt recognize it, but if i showed you a picure of new york, youd know immedietly.

  • i'm just happy that its here in america! i cant wait because im going and it will be my first time being in new york! Go USA! i love the Olympics!

  • what? The olympics are in the UK...

  • London sucks!!!! NYC the best!!!

    fuck England! GOD BLESS USA!!!

  • hahaha...your are such an idiot.....fuck the colonies

  • i hate nyc but i clearly see why theyre are so many downvotes since it would be placed in america :/ all you guys are arrogant ass holes

  • Ok... Well NYC is bigger than London.. So I totally agree

NYC>LONDON meaning.. New York City is greater than London....

  • nyc should have won

  • Tizelll, wtf is wrong with you you french bastard you lost the olympic games fair and square so go fuck yourself and lick some froglegs

  • Great video. I really like the way they incorperate the Olympic song.

    CHICAGO 2016

  • @PreservingConservati sorry man,not this time.

  • @PreservingConservati This isn't the Olympic song, but Bugler's Dream. Poorly incorporated with the video clip I must say.

  • I'm french and i'm so angry that Paris lost the games ! And i prefered NYC won games against fucking London ! NYC, Paris and Madrid were the only cities which had to win... What a pitty !!!

  • "NYC, Paris and Madrid were the only cities which had to win..." how did they have to win? I'm just wondering out loud.

  • LONDON killed NYC

  • But NYC>London

  • wot du mean NYC>London ? the size of city?

damn ur so awkward London is bigger than New York.

  • I think he means NYC is better than London. Which it is.

Anyway, we have more people than London.

  • i reckon he means tht New York is dirtier than London as you know .. and obviously .. anyway

  • Are you stupid? New York is much bigger then London in city proper population, metro population, even metro land size.

    Get a clue idiot.

  • @itom85 bruv are you an idiot? don't you even know the difference between NY and NYC?

    get a fucking clue, twat

  • Woooow you copied my message.. WOW. YOURE SO SMART.

And yes I know the difference between the state and the city you fucking MORON. I was talking about, OBVIOUSLY, NEw York City vs. London. You must be a mentally retarded 10 year old.

    Get off the internet.

  • fuck off mate, obviously i can't believe myself that i am arguing with an ignorant yank

if you do know the difference between NYC and NY, there shouldn't even be on here

NYC land area is roughly only 304.8 sq mi which is like only 0.8/2 size of London.

OMG, Central Park is so massive???

fuck off, Richmond park in London is 3 times bigger than fucking Central Park .

  • hey retard, notice how i said METRO land size.. do you kow the differenvce between city proper and metro area? obviously not. and you call me dumb? lmao, now i remember why the us has a better education system.

let me break it down for you.. since youre british and your stupidity is matched only by your horrible teeth.

when you count new yorks metropolitan area.. which is included in the overall census of 22 million.. new york isnt only bigger then london.. its the largest city in the world.

  • Excuse me? us British don't have bad teeth haha. :)

  • @itom85 check your facts, mate

Tokyo is the largest city in the world in terms of population, and Karachi is the largest city in terms of size. I am british and i seem to know that ... and i dont have bad teeth.

  • I will repeat it here.

Tokyo is largest in terms of METRO POPULATION. Otherwise it's a city of 8.6 million.

New York is the largest when you measure it's METRO AREA. Not city proper. I never said anything about population in that regard.

So perhaps you need to check your facts.

  • yea also the fact that nyc is a much more famous place in America along with D.C. but there's no way that London is greater than nyc. stupid wankers

  • the only people who argue london is greater are londoners. Meanwhile the entire world would probably say New York is better.

Its no suprise to me whenever i run into one of these "LONDON IS BEST CITY EVER" people their profile says they are from the UK.

  • yea quite obvious

  • i'm from the UK and i visited New York last July, i have to say i loved it, but when i did get back home, and i visited London, it was nice to have some history, and some old buildings rather than concrete/steel/glass skyscrapers. But i must say, New York is very nice, i also like London. Either candidate was eligible for the win, and they chose London.

  • Support has alot to do with getting the bid, there needs to be finanacial guareentee, cooperation from civic leaders, support from citizens of area that there may be construction and demolistion. Chicago has been a favorite for bringing the games back to america.. something new york was not when it bidded.

  • chicago got a 7.0 on its first evaulation, which provide the city to improve the bid before the final bid book is sent out. New yorks FINAL evauation got a 7.5. we will not know what chicago final score is unti sept 2.IOC officals were worried about the changes in the last minute of ny bid.. Chicago has full support from chicago natives such as Mayor Daley, Oprah Winfrey, President Obama, and Sec. of State Hilary Clinton. Chicago is alot safer, cleaner, less congested than new york.

  • Whatever. I really can't give more than a rat's ass about this to continue calling bullshit on whatever the typical Chicago 2016 internet fangirl has to say. So have fun fighting the good fight for Chicago on Youtubes comment section.

  • thanks come again baby boy ; )

  • @chicagoguy19 chicago is not safer than nyc lol

  • Too late...

  • new york is a wonderful place but they didnt produce a good plan. a campaign to win the games isnt nesscesarily about how "grand" a city is, but about the plan and concept they will produce for the games. new york would have been better off doing whtat chicago is doing now... centering the games in the heart of the city and bringing the city as a whole into the project.

  • New York's plan - finances, transportation, accommodation, venues, security, athletes services, enviormental matters - was quite good. It just came in 4th place in the IOC's evaluation report because it was against Madrid, London and Paris - 3 European capitals with an infrastructure thats inheritably better suited for an Olympic Games.

If NY's plan was in the running for 2016 it would probably be substantially AHEAD of Chicagos, but behind the nearly flawless plans of Tokyo and Madrid.

  • um no, new yorks plans were hampered by poor support and the city changed plans during the bid. IOC also hated that alot of the venues were mostly in outside areas. Chicago has the most compact bid of the bidding cities, 85 percent of the athletes are within 10 mins of the compettion venues, all on the lake. It would not take a "outstanding" infrastructure to compete. and if you ever been to chciago you would know that our transport is extensive. and a whole lot excessible than new york.

  • Oh please - poor support isn't going to tangibly affect things like finances, transportation, accommodation, venues, security, athletes services, environmental matters, etc. NY's public support could have been better but it hardly "hampered" the bid. Continental rotation (nothing of NY's doing) and the stadum fiasco were bigger deals working agaisnt NY's bid. The West Side stadium plan should have never been conceived, and the back-up site was anchored by an already existing Olympic Park.

  • i am basing my information on the IOC's final evaluation of new yorks bid, it provided LITTLE financial guarntee as well. if it goes by continental rotation than RIO would win because south america never hosted. and continental rotation is not even "really" factored in, its just an idea to promote the games in different places. Chicago has most of its venues build, and have you seen chicagos olympic village... its WAY better than that shitty apt style thing ny was going to built.

  • the nasdaq and the nyse have more market value than most contries combined.......

  • i cant claim to have a large knowledge of the economic world so ill just have to trust in what you say there but your suggestion that new york is culturally diverse and london isnt is quite arrogant. like i said before both are international citys taking in cultures from across the globe, legally or not england has its fair shair of migration and if you had ventured out of either the one borough you were in or stepped out of the landmarks you wouldnt be making the single minded comments you make

  • new york is a cultural center that attracts talented people from across the country and the world, it is a economical center nyse, nasdaq....and its gdp alone is 3 times that of london...it is litirally the capital of the world with the international congress present there(the UN HQ)...........sooooo

  • both london and ny are economic hubs. cultural center?well yes concidering again both london and ny are international citys and why do you think that the gdp is larger than that of london? is it possibly down to the fact that the usa is many times larger than the uk? bigger doesnt mean that new york is a superior place and why do you think the un is in ny? think about when the un was formed and get back to me on that one. if you had explored london a bit you wouldnt be so arrogant and bitter

  • by the way london just becouse you got the olympics ur not that special.....been there...wasnt impressed

  • just got back from NY 2 weeks ago, werent that great either

  • beutiful video........it would be exciting to see the olympics in new york....what a exciting place

  • Thank God New York lost!!

I didnt want them to host it, it would of been shite.

Wooop!! LONDON 2012 here we come!!

  • I wouldnt want it either. After bejing blew us away, London will have no chance to make a statment, it will be considered tacky and shitty no matter what they do.

    good luck, youll need it.

  • wow. i love this town.

  • what is the name of this song ¡¡

  • The Olympic Theme is called Bugler's Dream.

  • it´s a pitty new york hasn´t been chosen for olympics games in 2012...because it´s the most beautiful and cosmopolitan city in the world

forever new york ...the power is there ...

    love new york

    IM from argentina ...

    good luck london :D

  • 剩余字符数

  • haha !!

    loosers

  • NYC Musical Chairs Olympics! Be there!

  • is this supposed to be related to the olympic games, or even to sport?

  • Exactly, no reference whatsoever.

  • The Olympics would' be as popular today - watched by billions - if they were just another sports tournament. They are more than that. And afterall the ceremonies are the events that get the highest ratings worldwide.

Every Olympic Games has compelling stories to tell, one of them is that of the host city. This video does that by promoting New York.

  • Well this is a tad pants! Were were the mentions about the olympics in that!

Besides, were would they put all of the grounds needed, it's such a dense city there'd be no room!! :P

  • NYC would do what theyve always done in this situation. Use North Jersey. Where do the Giants, and the Jets play?? New Jersey. Look it up. :) hah

  • a load of crap

  • no wonder they didnt get it

    pretty rubbish video

  • this is rubbish

  • RIO 2016!!!come on latin america!!! is our turn!!

  • After watching this, I'm not surprised they didn't get it.

  • this is awesome!

  • lolz, what would happen to all the bodegas?!??!?!

  • were the fuck are they going to hold it theres no space fuck new york london would be a better choice

  • I agree, where the fuck are they gona hold the games??? Flotating stadiums??? New islands??? Curious...

  • lol hold it in central park lol

  • maybe 2016 new york might get it.. but americas had enough of olympics dont you think?

  • im english n if i wanted any two cities to have it it would be either london or new york.

  • the recurring melodies are actually part of the song "olympic fanfare" so yea i think it's trying to show how nyc is diverse yet incorporating the olympic culture in the society.

  • no wonder thy didnt get it.. tht was crap!

  • yeah it's a shite video isn't it, there's no sense of continuity is there, it's like a collection of random video's that make no sense

  • Amazing that the world's greatest cities bid at the same time(only Tokyo missing).

    Well done London!

  • andddddddddd wht is dis video trying 2 show:S

    awful presentation....

  • yeh i not quite understand that a bit stupid! it not say anything about why they should hae it. i really like the london video

  • i don't think new york should have won anyway even if it was an amazing bid (which coincidentally it definetely wasn't). the truth of the matter is that the US has hosted the olympic games in 1984, 1996 and 2002 just to mention a few. if they had won the 2012 games that would be a gap of a mere three games! london last hosted the games in 1948, paris in 1928 (i think). for the same reason i didn't think madrid should have won.

  • 2002?

  • Nice presentation of the city, if a little lacking in Olympic references (London and Paris were hardly subtle with theirs). Not that the entire decision making was based on the promotional pieces.

This has to have been one of the toughest decisions for the IOC to have made in a long time, and those who lost out shouldn't have felt bad.

If New Yorkers did feel bad about the decision, imagine how it must have been for the French.

  • moscow and NYC would be great candidates for the 2012 olympics. Moscow looks like the advanced city of Naboo from starwars and NYC looks like the advanced city of corrascunt from star wars.....wierd.

  • NYC the best city ever

  • GTA IV lol...;D

  • Didn't New York lose its bid for the 2012 olympics? i read that on wikepedia.

  • Yes.

But 2012 wasn't the best timing for a NY bid, not right after Vancouver 2010. 2016 would have really favored a NY Games, but they didn't even try to get USOC nomination.

  • Anybody can edit wikipedia idiot!!

  • they still lost just so you know.

  • =O

    no shit!! no shit sherlock!!!

    you gotta b shittin' me

    they lost!!!

    OMG

    Holy cow!!!

    i knew that idiot!!!

i was a junior sponser for them

  • it's 4 maxiedude13

  • whats your problem?

  • my bad man

  • New York is one the of the only, if the only city of that is so wonderfully diverse and cultured that hasn't hosted the Games. I hope the Chicago looses to Tokyo or Rio for 2016, so that NY could possibly put up a bid for 2020. If they do, it'll be tough - 2020's looking like a fight between European capitals, probably South Africa, and depending on 2016, Asian cities and cities from the Americas.

  • nice video but....not for olimpic games

  • Madrid the best!!

  • Madrid can go to hell, Barcelona was the Iberian Penisula's ONLY moment in the spotlight.

    Deal With It.

  • Wot song are they playing?! Jazzy ;)

  • The olympic anthem

  • Also further more for what i was saying earlier...

I believe that New York should have won over London hands down... One reason why i believe that is because NYC is so culturally diverse and i think more globally cultured than London...

But that is just an opinion

  • Are you an idiot, have you ever been to London? home to people of every race and faith. More than 300 languages are spoken in London, and whilst some cultural groups have been here for centuries, 30% of Londoners today were born abroad. Londons history is greatly more impressive than that of New York City. With its beginings in the Roman period. That said NY is a great city, its just irrartating for a person to claim that London is not diverse when they have obviously never visited.

  • The Americas weren't even discovered at the time of the Roman Empire, you douche. The ancestors of White Americans were still on the continent of Europe.

New York's history is completely in its own field, which wasn't born til a mere 200 years ago. Get some sense man, you can't compare the two.

  • You are contradicting yourself there - you first post a comment saying that americans wouldn't care for the olympics then you say that new york should have won over london.come off it.London won the bid for a reason.

  • The sad thing is that NYC is probably the #1 place to host an Olympic city... Sadly i don't believe Americans would care for the Olympics. The rest of the world at least gives a damm about the games. America wake up and get some culture... I am saying this as an American

  • If you're referring to small boony towns who are still living in the 50s and 60s then I'd agree with your statement... But apparently you aren't a resident of the 21st century.

  • Well i am...

sadly i have asked numerous people wat they would have thought and they basically said that they would hav 0% interest in the games at all...

  • chicago 2016

  • Ladies and gentleman, this ^ is what you call a sore loser.

  • I really hope NY gets them in the next 20 years or so (Even if it means Chicago 2016 failing). NY's pretty much the only world, glamour city that hasn't hosted them yet. :(

  • This ad is just so awesome. So creative!

  • How in the heck has New York City, the largest, most important, best known city in the world, not ever held the Olympics. They should get it, just because.

  • USA not need olympics for next 40 years there has been held so many times.....

  • I understand what you're saying, but the US is such a large country... from Los Angeles to New York... SO different. New York deserves the Olympics. The city stands for so much.

  • Also, I want to say New York is the ONLY American city that deserves the Olympics.

Think of the unique European-based history it holds, what the Statue of Liberty stands for, she's a universal image.

  • 3.1 billion dollars was a lot of money just 4 them 2 host the olympics. it woulda been a great experience

  • What the hell does that mean? It's in the top three most populous cities in the world, not to mention, the most CULTURED city in the world. Please do explain why it's "not an Olympic town".

  • What is your definition of culture?

Is it world heritage sites? Museums? Economy? Media? people?

    Theater? interest in sport? Population?

'cause if its any of those than London and Paris have a pretty good case against New York.

  • What the hell... So, you're claiming New York isn't known for any of those things? New York is known for ALL of those things.

    You're in denial.

  • Yes but France and Britain are known for them more...

  • That's the most bullshit statement I've read all year.

  • RhodeIslander88, I meant that NYC doesn't take it's sports nearly as seriously as most major cities in the world let alone the U.S. Sports get so much attention because it's the media capital of the world.

  • @masslib the olympics arent worthy enough to be held in NYC!

  • i wish they won the bid

  • your guitar teacher is shogo kubo of the zephyr skater team ?

  • lol... no, Shogo happens to be a pretty popular name in Japan... like our "John" The Kubo is just a coincidence, I suppose.

  • oh
