Robert de Visee might be the greatest ever French Composer. Better than Gonoud, Berlioz, Satie etc. What other French composers from this period are worth listening to? Can anyone help me out here?
Dear Jamie,You have a good state of mind here.Practice making each gesture have a clear mountain and valley. You can use dynamics and or timing to achieve that. Both together are best.Best Wishes,Smith
Bravo! The final chord here (and generally all chords in this style) should be played as an Arpeggio. The thumb strokes only the bass note(s). Regards, Martin
I normally do Apreggios in most pieces but in this one the book gave a strum symbol - I said I was dubious with the book :(. Thanks for pointing it out - I'll keep that in mind for the future.
Thanks Francesco! It means a lot to me. As I said, some Sanz tomorrow.
And quite soon a new instrument which may give you guys a little surprise (I'm picking it up tomorrow.) It begins with "uk" and ends with "ulele". I can't wait! I've bought one and will be playing through some renaissance guitar music with it. :)
In the last two bars of the piece there are trills to be added.
