I presume you are English Keith.If not the English vernacular of "lifting" the World Cup means that as England's captain, it was Bobby Moore that was presented with the World Cup. I was lucky enough to be at Wembley on that day.Because Sepp Blatter has decided that the World Cup event is now going to be offered to the country that can come up with the most "dosh". I doubt if anybody on these boards will be alive to see the World Cup in the UK. 2026? Venezuela. Plenty of oil there as well.
( 4:00 ) -- Bobby and Arlene shake hands left handed not because they are boy scouts but because this is that period in 1963 when Arlene is recovering from injuries sustained in an auto accident. One of the injuries is a broken collar bone, so she has her right arm in a sling.

This is amazing! Bobby Moore in his day was as famous as David Beckham. He is the only Englishmen to have lifted the World Cup in 1966 !

I found that "rugger" is another term for rugby, but I don't agree that, even back then, that soccer (or "football") was not an American game.
