@RedSpecial18 Its been sorted with the new CustomAc30, stripped back to just a Normal and Top boost, these CC2's had too many bells and whistles and are known for bad reliability, but I can safely testify that having played both this and the new Custom the newer is definitely much better!
@joelbyrne They got a rep for bad reliability much because the first batch were shipped with chinese tubes, mine came with Sovteks. Also flawed design - leave the standby switch on, the AC30 is all tube rectifier - the standby is useless and will even kill off your tubes faster. Just flip the power switch.
If you set any AC30 to full power "hot" bias it WILL eat your 5AR4 tube sooner or later, AC30's had that rep for ages
My only gripe with them is that you need to pull the amp out to replace it
@edudzzaj I replaced the shitty Chinese tubes with Mullards in preamp V1=12ax7 V2=12ax7 V3(Phase inverter pos) =12at7 Finished the power section with a quartet of JJ's. My Ac30 is SS rectification, and so operation of the standby switch is perfectly safe. As I said in my 1st comment, the CC's are bad not C2. The CC's didnt just have chinese tubes, everything including the Coupling capacitors were bad quality leading to leaks on the PCB. The newer C2 done away with all that tatty cheap circuitry!
