@webmatros it definitely can make it easier to drop the stick especially when first starting off, but when you get better you keep all of your fingers on it and it is a vital step to transitioning to knife combat.
@webmatros My instructor said its good for disorientating and freaking out your opponent. It makes it hard for them to know when and where the attack is coming from. Also good for posturing. Making yourself look dangerous.
@Joeyhiro definitely agree with your instructor, but on top of that if you can use it to actually generate more power or do more damage then to me this is priceless!
@Sledge1776 I would suggest to do it naturally let the stick's momentum guide your movements. Try to glue your arms against your side and limit elbow movement, but then also try the reverse and incorporate your elbow as much as possible like if doing an elbow, this should teach your body to naturally use the elbow when you want to instead of not using it at all.
I have been training in Vee Arnis Jitsu 4 2yrs. and I have 2 say I get more out of my cyber Sensei ('s). How ever It's my 20+ years of study that helps in sorting out the BS.
Thanx for the new stick Vid as always great stuff.

Isn't it easy to loose the stick doint this? I mean, at some point during the movement it's kept by only two fingers?

@wmpyr But what is the purpose of twirling? I practise Latosa escrima in which twirling is absent, so I often wonder about the virtues of twirling;-)

@webmatros there are lots of benefits, I just made a video on this subject, hope it answers your questions.
