  • I'm really glad I found your channel (though I think I have seen a couple of your videos before)! These videos are great!! I'm self-studying and taking courses to learn Mandarin chinese and I hope to get accepted into a university in Zhejiang next year!

Anyway, thank you very much for these lessons! Very helpful. All the best to you Benny!

  • i love this man!! i was taking mandrian long-distance at my school but i had to drop it for another class.this is awesome!!

  • Why did you cut out the wan???

  • BIGGEST PIMP LOL

  • 0:37 from that point on benny sounds like a white guy when he speaks english xD

  • 帅男Benny, 我想请你吃晚饭。 <3 我用的方法正确吗?

  • If I asked a pretty girl out like that, she'd probably slap me. Also, I could learn the Mandarin but wouldn't be able to understand her answer (unless she slapped me--I'd understand that). For someone who asked, she goes by "BoBo" and is a Chinese beauty contest winner or something. Agreed: VERY pretty!

  • @MarcellusTheGreen the slap reply is a universal NO =)

  • Hi Benny this is Anil from India, thanks for replying to my last msg. I keep visiting china for business. The main problem I encounter at hotel and restaurant. Kindly translate the few phrases that will help me a lot.

1)CAN I HAVE SOME VEGETARIAN FOOD?

2)CAN YOU GIVE ME ROOM WITH INTERNET?

  • ahh... good thing i now Chinese lol

  • Happy new year~!

  • And I believe that a same word in Chinese means different if the tone is not proper... so you should emphasis on tone also for having a better pronunciation of sentence.

keep up the good work. It was always good to see you on You Tube. I suggest you should start taking on-line classes by video conferencing, you will make the good money out of it.Give this a better thought. Have a nice teaching... Anil from India

  • Hi thanks for your suggestions! I will talk with my team!

  • You are doing the great job Benny. But my suggestion is you should tell the most expected answers one will get to hear when you say something to other, I mean how would he respond.

  • I think it all depends.

  • どういたしまして

  • shure waht?

  • hey benny, I like your videos but I have been taking Chinese for 3 years (I'm a freshmen now) andI'm wondering if you know of anything more advanced I could watch. Maybe, for example, a simple conversation. I cannot find any on youtube so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • you can go to bennysland!

  • Actually to say "a bowl of rice" you say "yi wan fan"... The Chinese Characters are actually different in the word dinner "wan fan" then to a bowl of rice.

  • doesnt wan fan mean a bowl of rice???

  • Benny is correct. Wan fan means dinner. Zao fan is breafast, zhong (or wu) fan means lunch.

Rice is mi fan. Steamed or white rice is bai fan, Fried rice is chao fan.

one bowl of rice would be "yi wan fan".

note: "wan" means late evening as well as bowl. 2 different meanings for the same word depending on how it's used.

So wan fan means evening meal.
