It really annoys me when I hear law enforcement and civilians used as two seperate things. Unless you are in the military you are still a civilian. A police officer is subject to the same laws as anyone else. The military falls under the UCMJ.
To illustrate, a fender bender occurs between an officer and a man. The man punches the cop. The cop may use a baton to subdue the man.
A fender bender occurs between two men and one man use that same baton to subdue someone punching him. He's going away for 2-20 years for aggravated assault.
@wtfdudenotcool101 A different example. If someone breaks into my house and comes at me with a baseball bat , I am not going to drop my gun and go looking for a bat of my own.
I meant that police fall under the same laws we do, even if they are applied differently. The military or non-civilians do not.
@MrScott001313 Thats kinda like saying, "You cant be a good astronomer unless youve been to outer space". Im not trying to give you a hard time though. If you want to shoot holes in his advice, Id like to hear what you have to say. But if youre just going to complain about his credentials or lack there of its not very convincing. What bad advice does he give?
Damn near HD quality. Surprising, coming from a tape. What hardware and software did you use? I have a bunch of medical examining how-to tapes I want to rip.
Massad Ayoob is the shit. He's the real deal. He has been the real deal for years. The man is practically a national treasure to armed citizens and cops. Some folks in the ammo community have given him some grief over his views on ballistics but he keeps being proven right year after year. I'd like to have a beer with him and talk tactics.
Ayoob is like WWE, Nascar, or Playboy magazine, there is a real demand for somethings that you might not enjoy yourself, but it fills a need for some.
Yup, Ayoob is the real deal, his shooting and tactics and most importantly, judicious use of lethal force training is essential, geared toward the "working" mans approach. Practical and realistic to what CCW or law enforcement will have to deal with in the real world no delta force fantasy crap
Front sight training is great ,but front sight is definitely a marketing monster
@BlueCollarSurvival I haven't ever trained with either person, but just from what I know about both, I think Mr Ayoob has a better reputation. Mr Piazza, as awesome as his training may be, comes across - to me - like a goddamned used car salesman. Maybe that's just the tone in his emails, but he strikes me that way. Very annoying.
@BlueCollarSurvival Without fully knowing his program, you should not judge him. Obviously you have not watched his DVD and you are not aware of his public relations program for advancing firearms through the media. Not to mention the extremely strong endorsements from NRA GOA and others. Piazza is doing a great contribution to training and to the gun community. To compare him to a used car salesman, shows a lack of respect.
@BlueCollarSurvival I am a front sight member, Ive never trained with Mr Ayoob.I would say in real life Ayoob is by far more qualified. t FS they mention Piazza's qualifications but do so very quickly + dont get into any depth. He was a chiropractor...but hes not training you, exmilitary, marines, seals, swat,+sf guys are training u so the chiropractor runs it but doesn't train u he just handles the business sides these days.If u want quality training ftf w/ a qualified person goto ayoob or FS

@Crich775 Massad Ayood remains a poser -- a "part-time" police officer holding some sort of honorary rank of "Captain" in a small New Hampshire police department. He is not even a veteran of our Armed Forces nor is he a law enforcement careerist. However, he sure says a lot. Enough said.
@shananagans5 Poser and pontificator with no real-world experience. He is a shameful self-promoter. I'm done with Aboob -- if you guys want to follow this idiot, have at it.
@MrScott001313 Real world experience in what? I agree he is a self promoter but I don't see what real world experience you want to see. He is very knowledgeable in this area and he got that way by reviewing the literature, interviewing people ect. That is realistically all you can do. Police work or military service does not make this onfo magically seep into your brain. An officer that has been in one gunfight has knowledge of that fight but harldy makes them an expert on anything.
Holy shit that intro Is so early 90s.

nbadhorse 2 months ago
@nbadhorse No they do not. Here's an example.
Police may use NECESSARY force.
The civilian may only use EQUAL force.
To illustrate, a fender bender occurs between an officer and a man. The man punches the cop. The cop may use a baton to subdue the man.
A fender bender occurs between two men and one man use that same baton to subdue someone punching him. He's going away for 2-20 years for aggravated assault.
Same exact situation. Totally different outcomes.

Ayoob, obviously.
Piazza offers training and target practice, but he isn't a world renowned expert the way that Ayoob is.
