why is it so hard to concentrate in any of the charlie rose interviews? at the end i always ask myself, "what the hell were they talking about?" maybe it's the dark background that kills my concentration.
If you rate wisdom from 0 to 20, 20 being incredibly wise and 0 being like a kid I think Heath was a 20 and if there is a god maybe he/she though it was time for Heath to go. Because he was so wise at such a young age there was no other life lessons he could have learnt any more. Maybe that's the way life works, we live until we either get really old or if we get really wise we die early. This is only a theory I don't even know if God exists or not.
HEATH,i miss you so much, you were so talented and amazin at ur work!!!!!!! u will never ever be Forgotton!!!! we all love you and miss u very deeply..
many times i don't buy accidental overdose as "accidental". i see ledger's overdose as indirect suicide, very very close to deliberate. based on a recording of ledger painfully ambivalent about his drug habit as he is using, i say the intense pressure he was under caused his death. what pressure? the combination of being a tremendously sensitive, self-effacing, compassionate, successful artist. is this combination an intractable road to extremely self-destructive behavior? please reply
@southport97 Please don't try to minimize what happened. I'm sure he's done this countless times in the past without incident, but how many times has someone ran a red light before they got busted, or someone that's shoplifted countless times before they eventually got popped? You're basically gambling with your future when you tempt fate. Chris Farley, John Belushi, River Phoenix and Heath Ledger. I'm sure they will not be the last. Ryan Dunn was on borrowed time, so I won't even go into that.
@southport97 Don't say that. I am a big fan of Heath, but there's no reason to wish someone else death. Yes, it's a tragedy that such talent is gone, but wishing some1 else to die is just wrong.
@MisterCovek I said that in jest at the time of Charlie Sheen's meltdown and media blitz.. Wow, we really have turned into a easily-offended, hyper-sensitive and overly PC lot, haven't we?
@anebt You are so right, but odds are the benzo's were already his mistress for a long time, being a xanax addict myself I wish I had found seroquel earlier, but man that stuff is potent. I took a 100mg @ my friends house and was a friggin' bobble head on the way home... I got out of my truck and went directly to the bed....good times.
Truly an artist, not a movie star... fame was his achillles heel. Like a star, he burnt out at his brightest... we've lost more then just a matinee idol.
he seemed so accomplished in so little work that he did with all his talent. it seems that he needed something else that no one else and nothing else could give him. he seemed unsatisfied with his 100%, while we felt he was perfect. such a high standard of this man. interesting personality, a person worth admiring.

heath ledger was the joker in the batman movie and he could have been the joker again and again plus could have made more movies witch im sure would all be good.too bad the idiots couldn't wake him up from the antidepressant overdose or something.
unfortunately our choices are often also influenced by drugs or other mood altering substances.with impaired judgment we make tragic situations for ourselves, and many people talk about blackouts from which they don't remember a thing. you have no idea how many crimes are commited during blackouts.
In the final shot in Brokeback, Ledger posts a photo of the mountain to his closet in the ramshackle trailer he is living in, and then he breaks down and cries. Very few male actors could pull off the intense emotionality Health displayed in that scene. Possibly the greatest talent of his generation. He is sorely missed.
@theman2017inc So, it is true. Got no sympathy for drug heads who waste their lives on that shit. Heath is where he is at because he put himself there.
@retrofann1 Who are you to look down your nose at someone? You are open to the same weaknesses as every other human being, weather it be drugs or whatever. Yes he did put himself where he is, but thats all the more reason to feel sorry for him. He was a person, made from the same dust of the earth you are, and open to the same weaknesses.
The lack of sympathy you feel is a big reason why people die in the first place.
@HillbillyJ First off not looking down on anyone. Never done drugs my entire life. Can think of better things to do with my time. All that fame and money and that is what ends up happening, pathetic. Got no sympathy for people like that and cant feel sorry for stupidity. Maybe he should have thought of his daughter growing up without her father before doing that garbage.

@retrofann1 If you've never done drugs how can you claim to understand someone elses reason for doing them? You assume an awful lot. Better whys to spend your time, huh? Like sitting at your compouter trashing someone you never met?
Everyone makes stupid move at some point in their life. Being uncaring doesn't help anyone, esp. not the people that are still on drugs who need someone to reach out and say "I care." Not "your stupid." How does that help?
@HillbillyJ First off you dont even know me, second of all dont criticize me for sitting on the computer commenting when you are replying to people you never met and trash talking as well, "hypocrite". Third I have been around plenty of people and seen what drugs can do, I have never claimed i did not know anything about drug heads so stop making assumptions yourself. I have dealt with it enough to know it is a waste of time and life and want nothing to do with it.
@retrofann1 first off man ive been looking into your thoughts about people and its the fucking situation you are put in that molds you into who you are dick just because you dont do drugs and look down on those people doesnt make you ANY better, for if you were born into their shoes u would be where they are so fuck you

The assertion that "your life is what CHOICES A PERSON makes." is BS.
I give you this, the ultimate chose is yours, however difficult. But let’s face it, its complete BS to say that every decision in life is the purely and uninfluenced personal choice you’re implying. If a suicidal persons best friend is a heroin addicted nihilist or a humanist psychologist, do you honestly think this won’t make a difference,
@wimscheers BS! LMAO! Your life is what you make it and the choices you make like I said. Are you gonna jump off a bridge because your friend does? Are you gonna shoot up because your friend does? No! What is bullshit is anybody that gets into that drug life is pathetic and I got no sympathy for and using your life issues as an excuse to get into that drug life is just a bullshit crutch to lean on by some weak willed person who cant deal with life.
@retrofann1 he was trying to get better, he was having insomnia and was very tired all the time, and at the time that he went to london to shoot the imaginarium of doctor parnassus he was sick and it was cold in london so that didn't help either. as someone already pointed out it was not suicide.

All I’m stating is that friends, family, catastrophes, nature, nurture, the land your born in, your education, and the list goes on and on, have a profound effect on your decisions. Ultimately, yes, we can claim personal responsibility, but this should be taken with the understanding that your choices are greatly influenced by circumstances.
God bless you buddy! You were a great actor! I am sure you are missed by those who got a chance to know you and others like myself who wished they knew you!
...which are drugs. that's why you buy them at a drugstore. they were prescription drugs. any substance that you take that alters your state of mind is a drug. sleeping pills are drugs, adderall is a drug, painkillers are drugs. a drug isn't always a bad thing.
I seriously think this guy would have gone on to make so many awesome movies. he was a true talent that doesn't come along too often. just watch him in brokeback mountain. this guy had serious talent. such a damn shame.
@Hammersley1967, Try to be more tolerant to people special features. Give them right to be what they wanted to be and to express their feelings and emotions how they feel it. Insulting them, condemning them you actually, make them unhappy and oppressed, they, in fact, die unhappy and prematurely. Do not get me wrong, my mother died when i was at five and I know about the sadness and the lonеliness.
what a great movie.. his performance was brilliant, I could relate a lot to his character fighting himself and being unable to express himself, i think he played it wonderfully :)
"Battling the generations before him." Ennis had no choice but to be who he was within the time in which he lived. Ang would tell Heath, play it close. Heath followed good direction, and as a result gave a signature performance.
Method actor that went do deep into the well and couldn't pull himself out. He took on the Joke purely and went sincerely mad. A normal person can't deal with that kind of character being a part of you so now he's dead.
I must say I didn't think much of him till I saw him as the joker and literally could not tell it was him. He was the Fuggin Joker! Great character actor indeed. RIP.
You could show me this interview and then every single character in every single superhero movie ever made, and the very last one I would ever pick would be TDK's Joker. I'd even pick Mr. Freeze and Catwoman first. THAT'S how insanely great of an actor he was to completely change his entire self for the role.
Such an amazing actor. One of the best actors (and most intelligent and genuine) there ever was. It's tragic that he died so young. He might've made so many more great films as well. :(

Well, how is it you are Australian and you cannot hear the Americanisation of his accnet? On the other hand, I have been away from Australia for many years and you all probably have Americanised accents by now I suppose.
I would give up any actor to have him back. He's the best.

chanelprincess16 1 year ago
@chanelprincess16
...which are drugs. that's why you buy them at a drugstore. they were prescription drugs. any substance that you take that alters your state of mind is a drug. sleeping pills are drugs, adderall is a drug, painkillers are drugs. a drug isn't always a bad thing.
popomczowzow 1 year ago
@popomczowzow every1 takes them even babie who have sore throat or cold
no ur the one saying meds are bad but yes they are in lethal doses

@chanelprincess16
I never said meds/drugs were bad. I actually said, "a drug isn't always a bad thing."
there's nothing bad about them when used correctly, it's when you don't need them and/or you mix them

Be happy!!! :)))

THAT'S how insanely great of an actor he was to completely change his entire self for the role.
mrchuckmorris 1 year ago 5
Such an amazing actor. One of the best actors (and most intelligent and genuine) there ever was. It's tragic that he died so young. He might've made so many more great films as well. :(

Well, how is it you are Australian and you cannot hear the Americanisation of his accnet? On the other hand, I have been away from Australia for many years and you all probably have Americanised accents by now I suppose.
