Ok so i went to my local gc looking for a new snare. My choices were between an OCDP vented 7 by 14 or an OCDP 7 by 13 inch. When i arrived and told the cashier in the drum section what i wanted to play side by side she goes " NO NO NO!" the best snare for under 400 bucks by far is pork pie. She had me try the maple 7 by 13 and the patina brass 7 by 13 and i got the maple one. Sooo much better than any pearl snare

Respond to this video... Oh my god dude, are you seriously that stupid? 13 X 6.5 shells have great crack on rim shots and LOTS of body when tuned right. The size obviously matters because it largely determines the tone of the drum. I could understand if you didn't like a 14 X 8 steel shell, because that size is intended for extremely fat tones. 13 X 6.5 is easily the best size for a steel shell, so that's why it matters. No reason to be so derogatory.

ive had the same snare for years and it's the poppiest little bastard i've ever heard.

if you ever change the head, i reccomend getting a remo powerstroke head.

it's the best sounding head for this snare drum.
