Wow, all you guys are saying this is JJs fault? Watch JPM's line. You can tell he went in because he curved away from the wall. It is JPM's fault but who cares. Ill probly get yelled at and thumbs down for supporting a dude whos hated for being good....
@saintsrulz yeah everyone says Jimmie isnt good and I just tell them... and how many championships has ur favorite driver won? and were they all in a row?
@MattA1GP, look at 1:40, you call that holding his line? He turned and hooked Johnson's quarter panel, you see he was given plenty of room on the outside.
anyone ever notice how if any other driver hits the wall, even at this speed, thier car will rip to shreds, but no matter how fast jimmie is goin he doesnt get as much damage, the 2010 aarons 499 , 2009 texas fall race, this race, and 2010 darlinton race are perfect examples
@cpcomedy314 Everyone else turns away from it to, unless they are so frustrated that they just let the car get banged up on purpose, but turning away while in a 4 tire slide does'nt sften the impact, those examples I put out were some very hard hits at very high speeds, and let me correct myself on Darlington, his car did get torn up pretty bad in that one.
@flubber342 Well at the Aarons 499 and Texas fall race, he hit the wall at an angle, so it spread the damage out more than just full impact. And here, he once again hit it at slow speed (Because it was right after the restart) at an angle.
@cpcomedy314 still, other poeple's car get pretty torn up externally no matter what speed they go, I'm just saying that Johnson seems to never get as much damage, but really he just has the funds to fix his car, unlike everyone else who happens to be on a budget.
@RandomWalkTheory No, just a less talented driver and one who is drastically overrated in stock cars blatantly taking out a better car and driver to help his own chances to win.
@weaverracing96 lol, you must not watch much NASCAR. This was Obviously a payback - you would have known this if you paid attention to last years Chase. Watch the Martinsville race immediately after this one and you'd see the #42 roughing up the #24. The best part about that race was hearing Jeff Gordon cry about it on the radio. : )
@RandomWalkTheory Yeah, the 42 and 24 have had trouble. But not the 42 and 48. If YOU paid attention, you'd know that from the earlier new hampshire race this year when the 42 and 24 were getting into it again a few laps before the 82 put Montoya backwards into the fence. There was nothing for the 42 to pay the 48 back for.
@weaverracing96 Only Montoya knows if he was paying back the #48 for something this year or maybe even last year. All I know is if you watched the Chase CLOSELY last year - you would have seen the Hendrick cars working together as a team to hold back the #42 - often very subtly. The #42 was on a roll last year being the only driver in Chase history to have 4 consecutive top 5s in a row. This all ended in Charlotte when the #24 & the #48 brake checked the field and the #5 got into the #42.
@RandomWalkTheory The 42 was never going to win the championship. He couldn't win races last year. Top5s aren't as important as in the past. You need to be able to WIN. To close the deal. That's why last year JJ's only competition was the 11, who shot himself in the foot at Fontana. I guarentee you the chamnpionship this year is going to be the 48 against the 11; with maybe the 29, 24, and 14 doing what they can to keep close.
@weaverracing96 The Hendrick cars made sure that #42 didn't have a chance to win the Championship last year - not that he would have anyway. The #42 should have won at Loudon last year - "current track record" but the #5 pulled a dirty move on the last restart and held him up. The #42 wont put up with that crap anymore. Everyone is sick of the #48 winning every year and I think the drivers will find a way for anyone to win but Jimmy. I think it's going to be either the #11 or the #29.
@RandomWalkTheory I'm glad everyone's sick of the 48 winning. Makes JJ fans like me swell with pride and laugh everytime we're at the track and here everyone boo as loud as they can when Jimmie walks on stage. Just keep on hating lol. The fact is, NASCAR will not tolerate people blatantly wrecking someone just because they're sick of him winning. Plus the 48 doesn't run his mouth, doesn't turn people to win, so they have no reason to wreck him.
@weaverracing96 I personally don't hate Jimmy or boo him - I kind of like the guy but he's not my favorite. Who's blatantly wrecked anyone lately? NASCAR said 'boys have at it' to let the drivers lay judgement and justice when they feel they've been wronged. Looks like it may be working! ;-) ! Jimmy has wrecked his share of cars this years - just ask the #2.
@RandomWalkTheory The 2 and 24 are the only ones this season who have any kind of right to have been mad at Jimmie. With the 2, it's obviously jealousy; just listen to his interview in the media center at pocono about the Hendrick PrettyBoys. And the 24 and 48 have resolved their ego-collision issues. But be honest, how often does Johnson ever maliciously take someone out? Hardly ever. He's made mistakes at Daytona and Talladega, but you don't wreck someone because they made an honest mistake.
@weaverracing96 just watched this clip: "NASCAR SprintCup 2010 Race 17 Loudon, Lenox Industrial Tools 301 Part 10 of 14". the #42 is obviously making it a point to let the #24 know he is through with his BS. Except for jr who works with the #42 at Dega - the #42 is putting the Hendrick team on notice this year that he is finished with them working together against him. i can't think of any specific incident "this year" of why the #42 may be mad at the #48. Last year is a different story.
@RandomWalkTheory THIS wasn't putting anyone on notice. It's just Montoya taking a cheapshot at the right rear of the 48. And Montoya is getting in way over his head if he's trying to pick a fight w/ HMS. Hendrick's drivers are too good, their equipment is too good, and their bank account's too big. Earnhardt Gannassi Racing isn't on the same tier with Hendrick.
@weaverracing96 SURE it was. It's called a payback in NASCAR not a cheapshot. Montoya getting in over his head - lol. Like I said, jr. & Montoya draft together at Dega and has said he liked working with him. Martin is leaving HMS and being replaced by Khane - who is friends and follows Montoya on twitter. So it's the #48 & #24 we're really talking about. Montoya is making friends and after seeing the #29 roughing up the #24 at Richmond, I'd say Gordon has more than Montoya to worry about.
@RandomWalkTheory The 24 has it coming from alot of drivers if for nothing else, then the way he raced at Sonoma, I've never seen someone wreck 5 cars in one lap and not get penalized the way he did.
Earnhardt/Ganassi racing has done really good this year they just don't thave the points to show for it. They were both good enough to make the chase and look at McMurray with his 3rd place finish at NH just another solid top five finish for that team. McMurray may have gotten lucky at Daytona but at Indy just look how dominate both him and Montoya were in that race. I can tell you they are making big gains and figuring out stuff in the 7 post and pull down rig.
@weaverracing96 The 82? Reed Sorenson, the Red Bull driver who took out Montoya at the first Loudon race, was driving the 83 (Brian Vickers's car), not the 82, which Scott Speed drives (and which Kasey Kahne, another Montoya rival, will most likely move over to for next year). What pissed off Montoya all the more about that wreck was the fact that he and Sorenson were teammates at Ganassi before Sorenson's one-and-done deal at RPM last year.
@texacobigred42 Yep, you're right. I just remember it being a Red Bull car. I feel like Montoya gets more week to week attention than he really deserves, but that's just me. I think 95% of his camera time is because of his success in open wheel prior to NASCAR. I look at it like this, objectively, in his multiple year career (4 or 5 years), he's gotten 2 wins. That puts him on par with everyone else that has just 1 or 2 wins. Logano, Reutimann, Bowyer, and company. I personally feel that as far
as road racers moving over to stock car racing; Marcos Ambrose is better suited to it than Montoya. I've been to 5 races this year and when you're there in person you see alot of stuff that never gets caught on TV. And I've seen Ambrose be just as aggressive as Montoya while making fewer mistakes. I'm not saying Montoya can't do NASCAR, and I'm not saying he never will. I'm just saying he hasn't impressed me YET.
Out of the guys who came into stock car racing straight from open wheel Road Course racing you can say Allmendinger has been the best despite lesser equipment. He doesn't wreck much and learns as he goes along.
@InvisibleTeeth Ambrose was in MWR. He had to push harder. I think we can agree that EGR is a better team right now than MWR based upon the 1 and 42 vs the 47, 56, and 00. Allmendinger did impress me to an extent, but he is not very cognizant of his teammates. At the first pocono race he run Kahne into the grass, triggering that last lap crash. And in the second race, he was the one that gave Sadler the shot that sent him into the inside wall. I believe a bit of Allmendinger's sucess was due to
the fact that Richard Petty Motorsports already knew that Allmendinger was going to the be the only driver of their's staying in 2011, and therefore gave him the lion's share of resources since Kahne and Sadler were both going elsewhere. Watching Ambrose in person is pretty fun, he does a lot with inferior equipment lap after lap. Personally, I believe Sam Hornish has done the worst job transferring from road racing, David Ragan has done absolutely nothing, as well.
@weaverracing96 AJ did not like his teammates. He felt Kasey was a bit of a stuck up Diva and Paul Menard pretty much confirmed that Kasey would never talk to him ro AJ..and of course Elliott threatened to sue him in 2009 for something he had no part in. So he got along well with Paul but not Kasey or Elliott.
AJ also learned that Pocono move from his mentor, Paul Tracy. See: watch?v=x4XI-JA8SxA AJ came directly from Champ Car and they only ran one oval per year. He's come a LONG way.
for all you 48 fans and JPM haters pause it at 0:59 LOOk at reutimann behind the 48. Look how low he is and how much room he's giving the 48 coming off the corner. The part that is deceiving is that the soft wall end right at about where they make contact and it seems a lot worse b/c after they make contact montoya is about almost a full width of a car from the wall but before that right when they make contact there is still the soft wall and montoya only has about 3 feet from the wall.
Jimmie should not have had this happen at all this year. I'd much rather have him as a seven time champion or break that record with eight rather than see him lose.
Kyle Busch is one S.O.B. I hate since driving for Joe Gibbs. Montoya may win, but not this way he won't.
Juan at that instant became my favorite driver. And to the 48 fans who will just say I'm jealous, how many times during the past 4 years has Johnson had a bad race or bad luck? It's time he got what has been coming to him.
Kyle Busch got it last year, Johnson is getting his this year.
@day500champ08 This had nothing to do with bad luck, this had to do with an idiotic driver who can't drive real cars and should go back to go karts where everyone kisses his ass.
@weaverracing96 You mean like how for the past 4 years, everyone has kissed Johnson's ass? About time, people started racin' him hard, it's like Jeff said at Talladega earlier this year. We've had enough.
@day500champ08 No one has kissed the 48's ass except the media. And if you need to listen to the media, then you're not a true racing fan. Between 2002 and now, he's won 52 times, has more top 10s, tops 5s, best avg finish, etc. And don't even start the stupid "The Chase helps JJ" bullshit, because the chase doesn't hav ea thing to do with those wins. And people have always raced the 48 hard. Look at Kenseth vs Johnson at Las Vegas, Edwards vs Johnson at Kansas, Labonte vs Johnson at Lowes,
Edwards vs Johnson at Atlanta, Gordon vs Johnson at Martinsville, etc. There's a HUGE difference between racing someone hard and just hooking them into the fence. If you're a true fan of motorsports you'd know that. But you're just a biased ass who thinks anyone who wrecks the 48 is a great driver. Do you realize how fucking childish you are for basing your favorite driver based upon the fact that he wrecked someone you don't like? Only truly shallow fans judge things based upon that.
@weaverracing96 I'm with you in the fact I don't blame the Chase. The reason Johnson has been so domination is this. Who is good enough to beat him? Now the other teams are after him, because they are sick of him winning. Kurt Busch, whose been wrecked more than once by Jimmie, said it best after Bristol. Anybody but the 48.
Now, I'm not saying Johnson is not a good driver (his stats answer that) but what I don't like is he gets lucky often. (need I remind you of 'Dega last year)?
@day500champ08 You're right, he does get lucky. But that team makes alot of it's own luck. At Indy last year everyone said he lucked into the win because Montoya sped on pit road, which is partially true. But, he was running 2nd and in position to capitalize on a mistake by the 42. My point is that he puts himself in position to make the most out of good fortune. That's what I attribute basically all of his success to. Putting himself in position to take advantage. Overall, the 48 team is smart
Hades and Gforce maybe the 48 would be happy to see you crash? *shrug* just a thought.. but if he had a really bad crash and was seriously hurt or worse died would you feel bad for your comment? I swear some people have no heart anymore.. Jimmie is one of the cleanest and most un-aggressive drivers out there.. If he'd get a lil more aggressive yall would hate him even more huh? I would seriously like to know why some people hate him so much.. ugh!
Short track racing.

I would seriously like to know why some people hate him so much.. ugh!
