@cutestdime, i slightly disagree with you, he was making reference to Iyabode the dancer in this video, but i would agree with you with all other accounts of your story. It was a misdirection. I happened to know someone in this video who gave me the details. She and my older sister went to the same high school. You can also see taht the camera was fixated on Iyabode "The dancer" while he started singing about her- All other dancers left the scene for a minute.
@wondaboy85, Tafewa Balewa Square? That's his estate in Alagbado. Come on man! Yes, he went to mecca to become an Alhaji, he was given an honrary title asa professor of music in the state of Rhode island in The United States and a Chieftancy title in Lagos as Baba Ewe. Case closed.

The beautiful lady with him all thru the video happens to be his new wife at the time, and she is the Iyabo he mentioned in the song. She died less than a year after this album was released. But ironically, his top dancer in this video is also called Iyabo, who later became an actress and died around 2002. My aunt is in this video and she supplied the dancers.
I learned that Kollington Ayinla made paid tribute to late Iyabo in one of his records produced after "Ijo Yoyo". Can someone tell me the title of that record? I have heard people saying that it was Asake Iyabode (Kollington's girl friend in this video) that was actually died. Please, help me out. I want to know more about the most impressive dance, as well as the beautiful lady besides Kollington throughout this video.
This is another good music from kollington, ijo yoyo won best fuji music of the year! the music took all over the nig then... great music from great musician..
Baba alatika...anyone remember that title? This was fuji at it's best. The location for this video was Gateway hotel in Ota. I built it with I.G. Construction back in the days when our government build things. Hope it still look good.

i am just glad u guys are commenting positively to these nigeria videos/songs. like others ahave been saying they come with a lot of emotions. My dad died last yr in naija, i remember he used to listen to Kola's song over and over again. i wish we could me more positive about other aspect of our lives. kudos to onelive1, i for one appreciate ur efforts... i do really respect u.
"prehistoric black and white TV" LOOLL, I remember that kind of TV my dad loved it to the extent that whenever he is not at home we dont have the freedom to watch for fear that we might damage it, gone are those days
and it was during that occasion Shina Peter did the "Soonest Recover" Grammar thing. It was all fun and joy at the National theater that night because I was there that night. Guess what Okoroji was the President of Nigeria Music Association and "DUDU Promotion was responsible for producing most of the videos in Nigeria.
Ijo YOYO was the music of the year when it came out. It won the Best Fuji Music of the year. I could remember the event like yesterday at National Theater when Kollington was crowned the King of Fuji
