@GroovyGuitar02 You're strat got a solid finish right? My Les Paul as like thin "worn" nitro finish so it kinda flakes the or chipps the finish away from the body, I belive that can be fixed with like nail polish or something. In your case if it's just scratchs, have you tried using like a sharpie? I'm not sure if it'll work but I've heard of people who does that with their dings and such.
Dude, will you let a few of us have some space on the main page? What do you do? Make videos all day long, every day? You sellin' coke or something? How do you have so many guitars, and if you're selling guitars, how do you have time to make all these videos? I don't get it. ..but getting tired of seeing nothing but you popping up when I search for something guitar related. Jeece.
YOu're seeling this guitar after you get it on stock and test it? If so, doesnt it worry you to be playing on it with a coat with a zipper? It can damage the finish
@GregsGuitars I like watching your videos Greg, I've been playing since the 60's and know most styles, except Blue Grass(which we love and can't play), but I gotta' say, you have nice ease about you, you don't compete with the music. Nice videos,I really like watching you tinker around, make more videos.
If you're ever in Ohio, USA, let us know, you gotta place to stay, I'll tell the wife to buy more beer.
I came across a TV the other day, approximately the same age as this special. The most outstanding thing was how amazing it sounded when not plugged in. It just had the *sound*. I almost wanted to mic it instead of plugging it in!
I've seen a lot of your videos (Probably most of them), and this may be the best-sounding guitar I've heard you play. This is the tone I'm looking for. I think the P90's combined with the lack of a maple top makes it sound even better than say, a '56 gold-top w/ P90's (I think the P90's work better without the maple top - Better mids and smoother highs). That's why I'd love to have an old Special, or maybe a custom-built replica made from 60+ year-old Honduras mahogany. That would be sweet.
hi gregg, have you tried one of those washburn hb-35? im imagining it would sound good on your rig and your style of playing. Btw, your style is really classy, love it
Totally understand the fun part but I did actually listen on a stereo system and the similarity in sound of the instruments is rather close. Anyway, thanks for the quick answer. Owning many guitars of similar make and vintage I was naturally interested in hearing them "clean".
Fun guitars and you play quite well, but for the life of me I cannot understand why you take the time to demonstrate a number of unique, vintage instruments and run them through pedals that generalize their sound to the degree that they sound almost exactly the same. You even chose one of Fender's best amps to play through but it's virtually impossible to hear any individual characteristics of either the guitars or the amp, only the effects. Beautiful guitars though. Cheers
@Delta1 - A lot of Gregor's guitar's sound similar because GREGOR is playing them. That's called finger-tone. But still, I can hear differences between most of the guitars he demos, especially the old ones, which usually have a fuller sound (due to the aged wood).
Hi Greg, i have the same modell but the rare -73 RI with stud mounted bridge . I used it for mor than +20 years but always found it to be to muddy in the middle position. I did the Peter Green mod to it and suddenly the Guitar came to life. The middle position can now be used for many different things. Try it on some of your TV models. Swap the bridge pickup magnets, it's easy. Regard Freddy
i noticed ive been matching this guy everymorning nicely done i just bought the 60dc tv not the custom shop thbo the usa model all in all a nice instrument!
I see that you used the Akai Headrush here (presumably for delay or echo) and also the Boss RC-2 for looping, but is there a reason you didn't just use the Headrush for your looper?
In other words, since the Headrush E2 already has a looper, why the need for the RC-2? did the RC-2 somehow prove superior to you than the Headrush?
Some truly fantastic guitar playing and tasty tone! I'm a bit curious about your '67 Vibrolux Reverb though. I've not seen an original "blackface" Vibrolux Reverb with brown or tweed tolex? Am I mistaken here? Or has yours been recovered at some point?
I'm always amazed at how much more tone you get from P90's-than from the supposedly higher output humbuckers-but tone is at least 50% fingers-this is sometimes forgotten
Good taste in gear for sure. Good looking color scheme for a LP! gotta love that thick open mad tone of the P90s. Gibsons like this one are exceptional though they stand out of the heap of LPs.
May have a little to do with the P-90 pickups perhaps? Love it too! BTW, I say the same thing about Gregor's videos...that is until I watch the next one. Such a subtle touch, less is truly more. Amazing!
Wow man your guitar playing is amazing when i watching this video i think about that i must play guitar and learn more and more. I have only cheap imitation of Gibson ES-335 made in chin.... but i be thrifty for the original gibson especially for 1957 Gibson Les Paul Special i love this guitar in transparent mahagony
Ok, the truth is: I try to find rich old woman trough the ads in the newspapers, invite them for dinner, and after 2 days I ask them: "Cherry, can you buy me a guitar,"?

Gregor -
Ah! Understood. I would have thought the Headrush could do both functions (delay + record) simultaneously.
Also, do you find the Akai Headrush (in delay mode) to be overly "noisey"? And are you typically using it in an echo effect mode or delay mode?
Many thanx.

Greetings Greg,
I see that you used the Akai Headrush here (presumably for delay or echo) and also the Boss RC-2 for looping, but is there a reason you didn't just use the Headrush for your looper?
