You should get a tenor guitar so you can say that you're a multi-instrumentalist. Otherwise you are just making indiscriminate noise on a broken instrument.

What was "indiscriminate" about it? Most folks who end up with 4 strings on a 6 string guitar can't play anything. I heard some of the old blues & mtn. banjo players say they'd used screen wire for strings. Some played wire nailed on the roof and floor of the porch. You'd never have learned to play if you'd found yourself in that situation.

Neko Case is bring the instrument back to prominence recently. I hope the price comes down on the authentic tenor units.
You are right. I went to a lot of music classes over the years. I was fortunate. I am biased to published and standardized metheods. My first love is classical music. It is the only serous music in my mind.
I legitimately play a 4 string guitar.. (4 strings tuned in 5ths like a violin/mandolin)
