  • Homer Welty was my great-grandfather. He was an amazing man. Thank for you uploading this video :)

  • I have a Chromaharp 28 chord table model harp sorta like this one. I have a terrible time trying to explain to people why I don't play it upright. Other people insist that I am playing it "wrong". No, I'm just not as good at playing it as I could be with more time to practice. LOL Mine was made by RBI and it is a Caroler. I love it. I just wish I could get my strums down better so I could sound this good.

  • Greetings from a fellow Welty- This video was awesome!!! :)

  • this dulci-harp is a dream come true. i would have one of these if i could ever find one. i hadn't ever heard of Homer till i seen this video. i done a little research on him and found very little. i wonder if any luthiers are going to make any of these. and if they ever do i will be the first in line. and thank you gf for sharing this video showing a very remarkable instrument.

  • To play in this position, there are two - one is the "Attache" by Oscar Schmidt, and the other is made by Chroma - Harp, but I don't know the name. They are left handed, in a fixed case, with the chord bars on the left, and the open area on the right, as is this one.

  • i seen a picture of Homer Welty playing one of these in the upright position.... i like the size of the dulci-harp .... it is resonance that i like from the strings .... a sound that you can't get from regular dulci-harps .... and i do enjoy hearing you ... i would like to see another video of you with the Welty.... keep those videos coming...

  • there is one made by RBI that has 43 strings... it is a lap style dulci-harp called the Caroler... but i still think the Welty is awesome...

  • Last night I found lots of video of Homer Welty himself playing the harp in 1984. Also shows a bunch of his "I wondered what would happen if . . . " guitars and mandolins. Will try to post these this summer.

    don (his nephew)

  • Oh my god.. I would kill for that. I thought I had a lot, and I only have 4. And 2 are Guitaros, so I don't really count them. Do you have any more welty harps?

  • I have three finished, several more to be completed. Pete d'Aigle and I were blessed with several of Homer's harps before he passed on.

  • how many autoharps do you have?

  • Around twenty that I keep in tune, plus more than that in my antiques, although I never count them. I have a room full, plus a couple of closets with autoharps (and zithers) in boxes. I am blessed. I am spoiled.

  • Wow, Bill, that is ONE huge autoharp! You pick SO well. Thanks for another one!

I want to see the one that you play standing up like a bass fiddle!

    ;)

  • The welty table harp is indeed interesting I

I will be waiting to see the other weltys.

I would like to see your invention of a new type of key board.

  • Go to my video, "Autoharp - Five Foot Two".

  • I'd kill for one of those

  • Very nice, I love it!!! He played one of his auto harps @ our wedding!!! Thanks for sharing... a granddaughter..

  • Great stuff!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • Nice and smooth. Very good!!!

  • were did u get that autoharp?i have 2 regular ones.post back

  • This was built by the late Homer Welty, a genius at redesigning - and redefining the autoharp. If you think that's something, wait until you see the one I play standing up, like a bass fiddle!

  • Wow! At long last I have actually SEEN a Welty 'harp played! Thank you, Bill.
