Regular PBS's science, history and nature programming basically shits on the majority of material that Discovery, History Channel and Animal Planet show.
1:01- That show is called Raggs. It's about five dogs and a cat who play rock music and go on educational adventures. In my opinion, I think that show is passable compared to the shows PBS Kids have now.
PBS Kids have really stepped up their game within the past 2 years. They took off all the bad shows and replaced them with shows that are a LOT better. Such examples are Martha Speaks, Fetch!, Dinosaur Train, WordGirl, and The Electric Company (2010 version). Unfortunately, Barney is still around, and Sesame Street is as bad as ever, thanks to Elmo's b!tch Abby Cadabby.
Out of all the people who complain about TV. PBS kids is probably the most ridiculous one to complain about. Yes, I did grow up with it when they were showing Lamb-Chop's Play-Along and Shining Time Station, and I even remember when they introduced the P-pals. But I still have no problem with the current PBS Kids with Dot and Dash.
Hell, my 4 year old cousin watches PBS Kids a lot, and I support him for doing so. Though I will admit, I still find Sesame Street to be good at times.

I was a kid in the 80s, and just because I was a child, that doesn't mean that I was too young to not recognize when a show was not appealing. And as an adult, today, I can still recognize when a show may not appeal to children. Sesame Street was not just appealing because we were kids, but the show was more diverse - there were more songs, skits, etc. Now, they spend 20 minutes just talking w/ Elmo, or the Bear family. Now, although I preferred 90s Barney, the show still stays true.

Back in the 70s to early 90s pbs kids was for kids and teens like bill nye the science guy, reading rainbow, (3,2,1), animal shows, sesame street before elmo, the majic school bus, and much more kids and teen shows. I'll put it like this. The old PBS was more like PBS/Discovery Kids back then. The new PBS is just preschoolish now.

glad I have satellite tv with over 600 channels so I can watch virtually anything, so if i get bored with a certain channel I can just tune in on a half decent horror movie.
Maybe the reason why we say current tv sucks is because the shows we grow up with seem better than what is on now, be that a delusion of our wanting to stay children at heart as we get older or a reality that programming now has become stale. Maybe it is a part of growing older too in that you just learn to like more adult things.
i've thought about that inutenman, and i've come to the conclusion that... YEAH it all sucks like hell. The only thing left are video games, but those were always many truly amazing games among even more crap.
The complaint I have about adult because is that they are very preemptive. The only shows on normal PBS I watch are the how-to shows (This Old House, New Yankee Workshop, etc.) and PBS hasn't been showing them lately in my area. Also, I think they should bring back 90s PBS Kids-Older episodes of Barney, Storytime, Wishbone (Which airs here on WVIZ 25), Shining TIME Station, etc.
When I was small, my favorite PBS shows were Reading Rainbow, Mister Rogers Neighborhood, Puzzle Place, Magic School Bus, Arthur and Sesame Street. I never liked Barney
I think Seasame Street could have done far better without Elmo, considering the fact that the really interesting characters were shoved out to let Elmo be a spotlight pig, I miss Gordon.

Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow are still making new episodes but as of September 2, 2008, PBS can now CHOOSE whether they want to show an episode of Mr. Rogers early Saturday or Sunday morning or not! Also, I actually only lost appeal in Barney because the new episodes are not as good as the old ones. I do still watch Sesame Street. The only other PBS kids show I watch is Curious George. I also watch all of the PBS Kids GO shows.
Finally, somebody who agrees. I'm a Barney fan (despite being a teen), so I feel how annoying it is when they criticize shows like that. Barney is also a classic (debuted in 1992, though created in 1987), despite what others say.
All ages? I doubt that. I doubt that most adults really cared for most of the shows that was on PBS during the 90s. Heck the shows that aired on PBS when I was a kid my parents didn't like. But that didn't matter to them because they still cared about the fact that I liked those shows, and that would probably go for the same thing as the kids of today.

Yes, you do need to be patient It's gonna be a little while until I upload part 4. I've been filming and recording a lot of footage and I still have more to go. I honestly don't know when I'll have it done but I'll keep at it.
I rarely ever saw any videos that express complaints toward PBS because I rarely ever complain about preschool shows since I outgrew them. Since the complaints mostly come from teenagers, you know what I'd like to blame for those complaints? Raging hormones. They're causing teenagers to become extremely angry whenever they come across something that really ticks them off.
That's a good point you have there, there does seem to be a lot of teenagers that have that and that could be why people bash things they wouldn't relate.

Back in the 70s to early 90s pbs kids was for kids and teens like bill nye the science guy, reading rainbow, (3,2,1), animal shows, sesame street before elmo, the majic school bus, and much more kids and teen shows. I'll put it like this. The old PBS was more like PBS/Discovery Kids back then. The new PBS is just preschoolish now.

Um those aren't the shows I complain about. you got it right on Elmo and stuff for preschoolers. but the main reason I complain about PBS KIDS is these shows right here that are DUMB : Mya and Migeul, Wordgirl, Wordworld, Super Why, and I think thats about it. those shows really suck. maybe you should have a part 3 1/2 about those shows sucking and why.

glad I have satellite tv with over 600 channels so I can watch virtually anything, so if i get bored with a certain channel I can just tune in on a half decent horror movie.

Maybe the reason why we say current tv sucks is because the shows we grow up with seem better than what is on now, be that a delusion of our wanting to stay children at heart as we get older or a reality that programming now has become stale. Maybe it is a part of growing older too in that you just learn to like more adult things.

The complaint I have about adult because is that they are very preemptive. The only shows on normal PBS I watch are the how-to shows (This Old House, New Yankee Workshop, etc.) and PBS hasn't been showing them lately in my area. Also, I think they should bring back 90s PBS Kids-Older episodes of Barney, Storytime, Wishbone (Which airs here on WVIZ 25), Shining TIME Station, etc.

When I was small, my favorite PBS shows were Reading Rainbow, Mister Rogers Neighborhood, Puzzle Place, Magic School Bus, Arthur and Sesame Street. I never liked Barney

I think Seasame Street could have done far better without Elmo, considering the fact that the really interesting characters were shoved out to let Elmo be a spotlight pig, I miss Gordon.
I still think that the shows are good as a the Pre-Teen I am, but they need several improvements. Oh yeah, nice video. Keep it up!

Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow are still making new episodes but as of September 2, 2008, PBS can now CHOOSE whether they want to show an episode of Mr. Rogers early Saturday or Sunday morning or not! Also, I actually only lost appeal in Barney because the new episodes are not as good as the old ones. I do still watch Sesame Street. The only other PBS kids show I watch is Curious George. I also watch all of the PBS Kids GO shows.

Finally, somebody who agrees. I'm a Barney fan (despite being a teen), so I feel how annoying it is when they criticize shows like that. Barney is also a classic (debuted in 1992, though created in 1987), despite what others say.

All ages? I doubt that. I doubt that most adults really cared for most of the shows that was on PBS during the 90s. Heck the shows that aired on PBS when I was a kid my parents didn't like. But that didn't matter to them because they still cared about the fact that I liked those shows, and that would probably go for the same thing as the kids of today.

So I might possibly do one on The N but I'm not sure yet. I know for sure I'll do networks like Disney Channel, Jetix, and 4kids (although 4kids is probably gonna be the last kids network I'll go over since it's the most criticised network out of all of them). I got so much to do though so they would probably take a while.

Yeah, that may be a good idea to save 4kids for last because that network has been complained about most of all. I may dislike the company for what they did with some of the animes that were popular in Japan, but I would recommend criticising the company in a more mature manner rather than going around yelling "DIE 4KIDS DIE" like a homicidal maniac. The reason why I've been posting hate comments intended to attack the company is because I've been brainwashed by the rabid haters into doing so.

I rarely ever saw any videos that express complaints toward PBS because I rarely ever complain about preschool shows since I outgrew them. Since the complaints mostly come from teenagers, you know what I'd like to blame for those complaints? Raging hormones. They're causing teenagers to become extremely angry whenever they come across something that really ticks them off.

That's a good point you have there, there does seem to be a lot of teenagers that have that and that could be why people bash things they wouldn't relate.
As for people complaining about PBS, there hasn't been a lot of videos that actually do complain about PBS but there is some that bashes Barney by showing rants of him or just someone killing that Dinosaur. But I have seen some people all over the internet that complain about PBS and not just youtube.
