Druid is right! When u shift later all the way up to the red line u might get a little less power at that time but because ur going faster at the end of that gear u don't have to build from lower revs when u switch to the next gear... (Thats faster) Go Mazda!!
smart guy, Druid. The 2.5L, stock, actually has it's HP still climbing at the rev limiter as evidenced by the dyno. Well, partly because the rev limiter is lower.
@bigggy172123 wait for the dyno sheet all you want... or you could simply google it for yourself. I know a quite alot about cars, including building engines and have a long history of drag racing. Trust me when i say this is the fastest way to accelerate with this car. Look at my other 0-100 video if your unsure.
I love the mazda 3 but I'm starting to feel like its slow compared to other cars of its class like golf n honda n vauhall n fiat I mean siriosly those cars do 0-60 mph in a little over 6 secs and I saw on a vid that this 2.5 L mazda 3 does it in 7.9 secs... which is kinda slower but on the vid it didn't really look like they pushed the car to its limits and I am pretty sure it can do better so can any actually try to push it and beat the 7.9 cus its a bit slow plz!!!!
I guess ur right.. . I want to get one too so for you how has it bin? Do you feel like it was a good deal? You have any dislikes or problems with the car... oh and are people staring at the smile when you drive by???
I love it so far... 10 000kms no problems... All i get are positive comments on how it looks... you really dont see the smile in person and when there is a plate on the front
engine size does not allways determine performance and theres others in this segment with similar size engines corolla xrs 2.4l, altima 2.5l, sentra 2.5l...
In the end it doesnt matter.. non of the cars in this class are fast... they are just fun little daily drivers
Hey man, love your shifts. How did you know when?
The spark timing advance forward a bit just at the tip of 4750rpm. next down power band is 4000rpm and below.
zorokakashi 2 months ago
Your shifts are hella late man it should be around 5500 no more than 6k.
insanemdrummer09 9 months ago
@insanemdrummer09 sigh... incorrect... This is not a 2.3L... It makes power well past 5500 thanks.

U shift too late man, over 5800 RPM it's useless. U should shift around 5500 rpm to be the most efficient.

As a long time drag racer and owner of over 40 cars in my lifetime i can assure you i know how to drive.
Short shifting the 2.3T in the speed 3 is common.. this is not a 2.3L
DruidB19 2 years ago
Sorry man, thought it's the 2.3 disi. U shift ok.

@DruidB19 After 4500 RPM, torque drop like a rock, so if you shift at 5500 RPM, you will be in the butter zone for the next gear.

@bigggy172123 This is not a 2.3L... it makes power all the way to redline.
DruidB19 1 year ago
@DruidB19 I'm waiting the dyno sheet to proove that ;). The 2.5L just got more stroke and bore. Its mostly the same engine desing.

We dont have vauxhauls or fiats here... and this car is faster than the Civic and 0.3 seconds slower than the VW it competes with.
I dont know where your from...
But this is a 167hp 2.5L... 7 seconds to 60 mph is not bad at all for 167hp..
Non of the hondas or VW's this competes with do 0-60 in under 7 seconds...
This is not the MazdaSpeed 3

So would you call it the fastest in its class?
Slavoid 2 years ago
I would call it average... there is not much difference between any of them...

@Slavoid keep in mind trim levels. the golf GTI and civic SI are what get those, not the stock, low end golf or civic.

your right... 2.5L
