  • CCTV ???

  • I am Emily.

  • My dad thinks im named after this song:3 it would be amazingly cool if i was;D

  • Wonderful!!

  • This is so so so much better than all latter albums and all other bends as well !!!

They are still in innocent state of love and unity here !

  • This is so so so much better than all latter albums and all other bends as well !!!

  • without Syd Barrett, the Pink Floyd lost the sixth sense: the sense of Humor!

  • The greatest Floyd track of all, thanks kissthesky, that's what Syd is doing, wherever he may be.... shine on, man.

  • Thats not david, He's Barrett!!!

  • Why Rick hit David in the chest at 0:13

  • @hamsteradorable he hits Roger....i don't know why..

  • @hamsteradorable aah sorry.,.yeah it's David, right. ah! he does it to make him ''play'' :)

  • :E

  • LSD is awesome :D

  • this song reminds me of my friend emily. we all took some madman mdma one night and i've never seen anybody lose the plot like she did. her head was completly scrambled, talking bollocks and getting her tits out all over the place,. priceless memorys

  • I bet that Most of the People who went to Roger's Wall Concert

don't even know who Syd is

  • @dominoes37 I went in November to the one at the staples center last year....I obviously know who "roger" is aka syd. Haha

  • @dominoes37 hey, I went to roger waters the wall in oslo, and I love syd barrett era pink floyd. in fact, the piper at the gates of dawn is my favourite pink floyd album.

  • @dominoes37 I bet most people who went to his concert are Pink Floyd fans and thus KNOW who Syd was.

  • The music is fine but dear god this music video is awful haha

  • @ChumpkinINC I think it's brilliant. I dont know about you, but to see my idol's at such a young age just messing about and having fun is brilliant

  • This music will always be missed

  • @50BurninIncenseSticks No your not ! haha

  • Roger wielding his bass like a rifle, that's rather ironic.

  • Even in 2011 people are still listening to good songs thumbs up for all of you

  • @BlackShades1977 nah im good.

  • i wish pink floyd stayed this way. Syd Barrett was great

  • Probably one of the first documented acid trips.

  • @pucksterz12 No, just four guys having fun.

  • I wanna wanna see the Top Of The Pops tape pleeeaase. I don't wanna see Gilmour I wanna see Syd, I don't wanna see an unfinished concrete flyover, I wanna see stretched aluminium foil in a TV studio in London. I don't wanna see a park in Brussels. I wanna see charismatic rockstars miming with instruments, not a bunch of idiots miming cricket and clog dancing.

  • @SuperNevile I wish you could see it too mate, but YouTube in all their wisdom won't let me have it up :(

  • @KissTheSky321 I know, I wasn't getting at you, I was trying to be humoursly rhetorical, tho' interestingly your reply seems to indicate you have a copy, you lucky person. I'll leave it at that ~ cheers.

  • @KissTheSky321 youve got be shitting me

  • @KissTheSky321 why not? :(

  • @SuperNevile Who really wants to see David Gilmour anyway?

Oh yeah and the rest of it too :p

  • @SuperNevile I think you're forgetting that BOTH Pink Floyds have been profound in their influence and contribution to popular culture. Why is it so bad if this is Gilmour instead of Barret in this video?

Nothing can be done to change what happened to Barrett's mental health. This was the transitional period of Pink Floyd, so why not just embrace that? The song is still just as good.

  • @DavePerry2012 Nowt against Dave ~ Think he's brilliant ~ in fact listen to him all the time. It's just that I bought a vhs video tape 23 years ago ~ 'Rock 'N' Roll The Greatest Years 1967', including ~ Pink Floyd. See Emily Play (R.Barrett) expecting to see the TOTP performance with Syd and the lads, and got this instead. Never recovered from the trauma! Cheers

  • Is the taking a picture place of this video understood?I want to go to see once now though it doesn't know how to become it.

  • They must have known how silly this video was going to look. Love Nick Mason's choreography!

  • Pink Floyd/See Emily Play 1967年にプロモーション用のミュージック・ビデオを作っているのが凄いね。斬新だったのかな?

  • blur were very influences by early floyd so much that they even had a song with the same chorus but dont get me wrong I love blur and pink floyd

  • great song

  • where was it filmed?

    does anybody know.

  • So little film of my favorites exist but there's plenty of high def stuff around now of people that suck.

  • @emily1995x in a way so was my babe...shes 11...emily was among names we chose...i chose it for this song...others were olivia...no guesses there...and amy jane..my two nans names...emily got the vote...CLASSIC

  • I remember when the older brother of a friend of mine brought this home to their house in 1967, while I was over there. I was HOOKED! Even living in New York, I had never heard ahything like this!

  • They were so great. "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is right up there with Pepper and Pet Sounds. And now Syd and Richard are both gone. Come on, Roger and Dave-- bury the hatchet already.

  • I agree completely . . . please make peace between yourselves!

  • Excellent album. I have an original release of it. Maybe we could get Nick Mason to arbitrate the issues between David and Roger.

If Syd had stayed a bit healthier can you imagine how the 5 of them would have sounded?

  • @robdowell1 Pepper, Pet and Piper... I agree with you :D they even sound good together lol

  • this is awesome

  • There was a little girl on our street who was a year younger than me and was mentally challenged. The other children, myself included, were not allowed to play with her.Our parents found her "odd". I used to spy her playing alone on the swings. This song always reminds me of her. It has become my fave Pink Floyd track. Take care Emily, where ever you may be. I hope you've made some friends.

  • Sounds like autism

  • @Saggitarian2December Od man ,you almost made me cry :|

  • @Saggitarian2December Lovely story.

  • @Saggitarian2December i love when music connects with life... it's awesome

  • @Saggitarian2December That's exactly the state Syd ended up himself...

  • I CAN DIG THAT NOSE

  • R.I.P. Syd Barrett

    <3

  • Imagine what Floyd would have been if Syd had stayed.

  • Would get out of fashion soon because the psych pop was very out in 1969 already.

  • i wonder, but they were still soooo successful even without him

  • unique

  • my name is emily :] thts why i like this song lol. heard it from vh1 classic, they talked about the original singer and the beginnings of the band ^^

  • Thank You so much for that

  • very nice at 0:49 !!!!!!!!

  • Cool.:) I love this Song:) I still wonder if this is about a real person. LOL

  • great song makes me feel relax

  • It's from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn

  • It was in the U.S. It was a stand-alone in England.

  • Wrong.

It's thier second single. It's not on any studio album.

It is on the Piper at the gates of dawn 40th anniversary edition though.

  • well Wikipedia is wrong then.

  • I have it on Relics. I had to look it up for someone else on here.

  • no it wasnt included in the 40th anniversary edition,I wonder why :/

  • what cd is this from? its great

  • i think you can find it on relics also a number of other early barrett floyd collections, hunt around you will find it

  • Which one is Syd? And which ones are the others - film is old so I can't really tell...

    xxx

  • I can tell which one is roger and mason, but not sure about wright or barrett...he's one of them wearing dark colors...the drummer is mason and the gutairist wearing light colors is waters. i would say the guy in what looks to be a dark suit and a hat is syd.

  • Wright has the hat on. Barrett isn't in this video unfortunately, even though he wrote the song. David Gilmour appears in the video as the guitarist.

  • aww I dont care man I loved Barrett Floyd - ever hear Bike? And I loved Gilmour, I loved Wright, Mason Waters ..wait guess I just feckin' love Floyd! There was no one quite like them and noone ever will be - odd vid but very cool, The 4 of them dancing as if around an imaginary maypole is bittersweet. they were all so different yet they pulled off playing music in such a tight, long running band perfectly! SHINE ON FLOYD!

  • this video is definitely better than any modern video

  • Does anybody make videos anymore? All I see are reality shows on MTV and VH1.

  • sweet song

  • This was filmed somewhere in Belgium in 1968!

  • I like this video but I'm dying to find the other version (the one with the girl, the psychedelic lights and gorgeous shots of syd barrett performing)

  • d guy in d hat is syd, innit?

  • Rick Wright, RIP

  • I'm sorry, Rick Wright, the keyboard player left us?

I just looked it up. Just didn't notice this on September 15, 2008. Thanks for the mention.

  • OOOOOOh this amazing song!!!I love it!!!thanks

  • Iloved the video..so classic and rare these thing really get me to the floor out of shock..I slave over he 60s.Period.

  • this is the "re-recorded" video that was done some time later after Dave Gilmour had replaced Syd.

  • Awesome vid, i'm glad someone appreciates these musical historical moments in time. 5 stars and added to faves.
