  • People don't like Daphne's weight gain because no one likes overweight women. Well guess what? GIRLS GAIN WEIGHT, AND GIRLS OVEREAT DUE TO STRESS, AND NOT ALL GIRLS ARE A SIZE TWO. This weight gain makes Daphne very human in my eyes. No one appreciates "human" women anymore. Now they are all 5'10", caked with makeup, Photoshopped, and are a size two (four MAXIMUM.) For the love of God, when is this hatred against females going to end?!!!!!

  • I am mad at the writers they should have wrote Daphne's character for a year, her preg and the stupid story line why really hurts this season

  • Rene Auberjonois!

  • WOW

  • roz is lookin fine as hell in that yellow number

  • Eddie's yawn at 2:40 to adorable!

  • @KitsuneAdorable You're adorable. At least, according to yourself (:-Þ)

  • Nice star speech, Fras. :)

  • "Yeah, weenie like a fox..."

  • Odo is a psychiatrist!

  • Tukesberry is such an intelligent guy. I wish I could be a psychiatrist.

  • This the best acting I've ever seen from Kelsey Grammer!

  • 6:43 we all learn how frasier become so bloody awesome!

  • "Daphne" as a character is becoming fat, yes.

Personally, I think that storyline is a bit awkward and weird, but Jane Leeves was pregnant at this time, so they had to do something to deal with that.

It can't really be helped, and once Leeves had her baby, "Daphne" went back to normal (Well ,they said she lost the weight, it's in the episode "Daphen Returns").

  • @thecaronthelawn I myself never really liked how they used the weight gain story-line due to her real life pregnancy. I didn't think it was respectful. They could have just had Daphne exit the show until the birth and then come back. Well that's how I feel about it. But eating is a coping mechanisim so I guess it did work for the show at the time.

  • @KitsuneAdorable I know. But certainly it's more believable than some of crazy things that other shows come up with, or worse--just ignoring it all together and having the actress always sitting or holding a large prop or something. I mean, they had to do SOMETHING, so it was sort of unavoidable. I just sort of try to ignore it.

  • frasier dosnt feel empty, like all beings he just want's his existance to feel important, that it matters that hematters.all humans liek the idea that when they die, the world stands still, because its not a validation that reconises a persons worth, its result.frasiers helps people who call into him, but he never see's them,he never hears their breakthroughs,he can only offer advice. that is his emptyness he thinks he has,its not that he is too comsumed in his work,he just wants to see its success

  • @goth9ever Very interesting take on it, and to a partial extent I agree. It's especially true of his type of help, where he never sees the outcome of his advice AND it's such a short period of time with his patients. Judging from what I've seen though, I would add that many human beings seem to become more "spiritual" as they age ▬ possibly with the realization of the increased chance of death. The afterlife & eternity become more pressing questions than earlier.

  • @HighLover12 Crane's Unplugged

  • Not to put too serious a spin on a comedy show, but any parent, spouse, or human being who has buried themselves so much in their work and career that they have neglected their relationships with people should watch this. You'll find yourself mirroring Frasier's moment of clarity at 18:52.

  • Those psychiatrists sure love their hypotheticals, eh?

  • @KinduVborrd Yes. My friend always does that to me...

  • this was my 1st time seeing this episode, when Frasier and the professor were talking, that was really deep, there is usually so much witty banter, but this episode makes one think, and i see Frasier's character in a different light now..

  • @softsandz totally, I loved so much what they said about art!

  • Man Fraiser first aired on TV When I was in 1st grade and finished my senior year. It followed me and it was awesome :D

  • This show has such great arcs and psychological banter. Unlike virtually all shows "Frasier" has compelling and fairly consistent backstories that wring the real meaning out of the characters' personalities. Tewkesbury (Odo, Rene Auberjonois) accurately uncovers Frasier's fear and his life-long defense mechanism. And Martin knows his son's habits all too well (05:15-05:22).

Gill passed out in his plate is a scream.

  • Quark disliked this.

  • Frasier gets all the attention... but Niles really has a much better life.. He finally achieved financial security and has the woman of his dreams.

  • @TheScaletIbisNW Yes, but Niles achieved financial security because he divorced a very rich woman and he and Daphne are together due to Frasier. And I tend to believe that Frasier would be married too if he didn't live for 11 years with his father and Daphne (and Niles 70% of the time).

  • @potocatepetl may be, but Frasier sabatashed himself a lot of the time. He was in some positive relationships then he'd do something stupid.

  • @TheScaletIbisNW HAHAHAHA! "Sabatashed"?¿? I love it!¡!

  • this and Don Juan in hell are the best episodes where Frasier talks about that psychology stuff and doesn't dumb it down and makes us think

  • One of my favourite episodes.

  • Martin is the best in this!

  • I was too young when they have broadcast it..

  • "Hello Dr. Crane... I love your show, I'm a big fan :)"

  • is daphne just fat ??? or is she pregnent in this episode too ??

  • @NIghtRider805 daphne's fat. the actress was pregnant so the writers adapted the plot to accomodate her

  • I actually liked Frasier's speech. It was sad, but honest. It was the only time he expressed what he really feels and not what he read or what he thinks it would sound smart.

  • Poorly _ooze oo

  • what's a DSM?

  • @hbanana7 Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders

  • Well, duh!

hahahahahahaha saying that to your mentor - priceless xD

  • René Auberjonois <3

  • There has been like a dozen guests and cast members who were also on Star trek episodes. Good to see Odo.

  • I adore the way Marty makes a big of Niles just in case he feels left out! ^_^ <3

  • One of the best episodes.

  • Odo!!!! You shapeshifting son of a bitch.

  • I LOVE this episode because I'm currently a student and I love seeing Frasier and his prof banter and bounce ideas off each other.

  • beautiful episode. I love how the proffessor goes right through all of Frasier's crap :)

  • "Sometimes it helps to write yourself a letter..."

"He's already got himself on the phone!"

  • "What the hell is wrong with me???"

"Yes, dear, I know we have reservations but one of my former students is having a minor crisis. I'll be there in half an hour."

    "WHAT DOES IT ALL MEEEAAAAN?????"

    "Make it an hour..."

    Frasier is way too good.
