actually averit, the nazi regime used muslims in north africa because of their mutual hatred for the jews. and if it happened again, i think they'd go the same way. they also did many gun trades with the IRA, both because they both hated the english, and because the IRA supported the palestinians and still do, who want the israelis out of israel, and hate jews. not to say that the IRA hates jews, but it all seemed to work out for everyone equally.

Im Dritten Reich wurde nur noch die erste Strophe gesungen, direkt gefolgt vom Horst-Wessel-Lied, die zusammen anstelle einer einheitlichen Hymne genutzt wurden. Es gab also eine sogenannte "Doppel-Hymne"

It started with the first stanza of this wonderful song, the Song of the Germans, written in 1842, but the "Horst Wessel Lied" followed then.
Today our beautiful anthem officially consists out of the third Stanza of this song =)

Danach folgt die (weniger bekannte) zweite Strophe von "Das Lied der Deutschen" (heute singen die Deutschen die dritte).
Du hast recht es wurde im 3ten Reich erst die erste Strophe vom "Lied der Deutschen" gesungen und dann die ersten 3 Strophen des Horst Wessels Lied, welches wegen seiner ersten Strophe den Beinamen "Die Fahne hoch" trägt.
Nur um das zu verdeutlichen was du bereits gesagt hast.

Ähäm "Third Reich" ??? Das Deutschlandlied wurde von Reichspräsident Ebert (SPD) 1923, also in der Weimarer Republik zur Nationalhymne erhoben !!! ;-)
