  • thses actually dont ahve a falt frequency response, well it does until it reaches the 70 hz region where it is bumped up slightly, but then thats british sonic signature for u.

  • ... TOO BIG, TOO HEAVY

    just get Bose

  • @ArayKuu You moron ! You cant even compare any Bose speakers to B&W 802D. That is like comparing nascar to F1.

  • @Warrantti BOSE===Buy Other Sound Equipment

  • @ArayKuu Bose?!? Sorry...but comparing Bose to 802D is like comparing a wooden 19th century bicycle with a new Rolls Royce.

  • lucky man

  • Oh I wished, i could own some of these one time!!

So Beautifull and they have to sound so good!!

  • The B&W's are all great. I have the Matrix 802 and love them. Backed with a massive Classe' DR-25. 250w/ch

the real nautilus can bring me to tears on some moments so real sound it.

  • this is amazing. how much those go for?

  • HI

Curious if you feel that they are better after breaking in?OR if you feel they stayed the same?

  • I have the 604 S3 and sounds excellent. The 802D probably are the most great sound experience.

  • I wonder how much that shipping cost him? But i bet they sound wonderfull and warm sounding :)

  • WOW !!!

  • How are your speakers sounding now you've had them for a while, even better than when you first got them I imagine now they are run in. I have a pair of B&W Md14's which are getting repaired and am running a pair of Mordaunt Short speaker's at the moment, Ilove the sound of hi end sound gear and can only imagine how your speakers sound, thanks for the video I enjoyed it and happy listening.

  • Very, very well; thank you.

  • magnificent, good on ya i am envious

  • Thank you, sir.

  • OMFG! wonderfull presents ;)!!

  • :) :)

  • Hey, gselsman, are you using Transparent power cables as well? I recently upgraded the power cables on my dCS digital equipment with transparent cables and it made a huge difference. Using the old N802 with dCS Purcell/Delius, Levinson amp, all transparent cabling, Squeezebox 3 with updated power supply, ect.

  • I get all my stuff from Audio Consultants in Evanston. Great store. I figured you got your stuff there because of the combination of B&W and Transparent Cables. Excellent my friend. You should really hear the new Wilson Sasha's at the Evanston store. They are hooked up to the Ayre mono blocks and preamp, and the dCS Puccini with wordclock. Outrageous!

  • i'll have to listen to Bryston see if they match my old threshold SA-12e amps....or maybe sound better

  • Yes, please so inform us. Thank you.

  • Curious are your Bryston Amps the squared version?Curious about your impression of Bryston amps compared to the other amps i assume you tried before buying?

  • They are the Bryston 7B SST"s; auditioned the Arye monoblocks at 18,000 a pair - same.

  • Hi

Bryston have released the 7B sst Squared version since Jan this year. Was curious if you had the squared version which by the way have a different transformer that is supposed to change the power curve of the amp.

I went with the 7B sst squared version. But still haven't heard it yet.

  • it's like audio porn no ?

  • Oui.

  • Magnapan speakers are not electrostatic

  • Yes. sir - magnetic ribbon.

  • i find electrostatic speakers alittle harsh for my taste....B&W's are as close to perfection i've heard....so far....last year i bought a pair of B&W 801D's and i'm in heaven....rediscovering music is what i've been doing alot of.

  • Hey gselsman did you get this stuff from Audio Consultants? The installer looks familiar. I am also using Transparent Audio cables, power cords, power conditioning, and reference digital link and the system is terrific.

  • Yes sir - the Hinsdale store.

  • those are so sweet speakers!

I have the dm303 speakers with asw300 subwoofer -the cheapest ones- and love them!!!

I hope some day I'll have Your setup :)

  • You'll have it someday. Thanks for viewing it.

  • oh what a happy day!

  • Yes indeed! Thanks for viewing it.

  • At 1:46 leave your balls alone.

  • I'm a fan of electrostatic speakers but for box speakers these are hard to beat at their (not inexpensive) price. The Nautilus Diamond series produce some of the best sound I've heard from cones and domes.

  • Magnapan?

    Thank you for your comment.

  • 800 series is better, the Nautilus is perfect sound, that doesn't really mean the best, they don't have character!

  • Great choice of speakers. What amps are you using to run them?

Just out of curiosity, do you find the sound to be overpowering in your apartment? I would love to own these speakers, but I wonder if they would be too big for my residence. They are HUGE speakers. What are your thoughts?

Have you also considered any of the other 800 series for surrounds? Or do you just listen to stereo music?

  • Thank you.

Two Bryston 7B SST Monoblock amplifiers and an Ayre K5XE preamp. All the cables and interconnects are Transparent Audio (Super models) and also a Transparent Audio Reference Powerisolator.

Our living room is over 20 feet in length, so no reveberation difficulties.

We listen to only stereo, hence, no other speakers.

    Kindest regards

  • Isn't that the best time? When you get the goods moved out of the store and into your livingroom. Im currently designing a 13.2 home theater with the 802's as stand-in's. But after seeing this, im gonna make the 802's permanent! Thanks gselman for blessing us audiophiles with your georgeous speaker short film!...

  • Yes, it is; and thank you.

We believe that you will be quite pleased with the 802D's.

If we may offer a suggestion - spend at least approximatly 70% of the cost of the speakers on interconnects, speaker cables, and power conditioning equipment. We are using Transparent Audio wires and equipment.

    Kindest regards.

  • Wow! nice speaker! That model cost an arm and leg right?

  • Thank you.

Cost was $13,000 (US) plus sales tax.

  • i have the 803s and its smooth speakers.. fits well with the lyngdorf room perfect amp

  • Yes; very good; we agree.

  • I am thinking I may go with Mctintosh monoblocks.the 501's look real nice.

  • Yes, good.

  • Thanks for showing this.....It's nice to know so much care goes not only goes into the speakers but that they are very well protected.

2 Weeks till I get mine...Only thing is I have to decide in a couple of hours which colour I want. All good though.

  • Thanks for the good comment, please show your speakers on youtube so we will view it. About the colors, just pick the one that you are comfortable, which all fit into your music room.

  • Nice ;)

  • Just a matter of priorities.

Most people think it's normal to own a 20000 dollar car.

When you tell them you own 20000 dollar worth off speakers they look at you if you're crazy.

Any man can afford thes speakers.

    Just ride a bicycle lol.

    Anyways.

You just bought what some people consider to be the best speakers in the world.

    Enjoy.

  • Thanks for your good comment ralfielutser, anyways, we are all going to the sky,so why not to enjoy life, atleast, these speakers, you're not going to waste gasoline,no air polution, and no car insurance and the most important is, no accidents. Everybody says, speakers??? Why not to buy BMW? right? I think, all people have different opinions, likes, beliefs and treasures. How muchsalt do you like on your french fries? Have a great day!

  • i hope you and your future generations enjoy these!!

  • Thank you.

    Kindest regards.

  • Must of been a fun event to get speakers that high of level delivered brand new. I own B&W speakers myself, but only the lower end 600 series model. Kinda cool to see how the higher end ones are packed. Thanks for the video.

  • I'm glad you had fun....Thanks for viewing it.

  • Who the hell wants to see speakers getting unpacked.

    CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Maybe you...don't view it, if you don't want to...thanks anyway for your good comment. I appreciate it.

  • I do for one.....

  • Nice speakers I wish I could afford them.

  • raymondleelegs,

I think you can, just save more money, but it's good for you.

    regards,

    gselsman
