  • I need a 29er.

  • you can now get a ticket to riding on the side walk. thats some wild bushbaby BS

  • Can someone explain to me why BMX riders these days have their seats so low? You see these big lanky kids riding so low their knees are almost hitting them in the face!

  • 3 dislikes?!?! that must be a joke

  • Guy goes wrong way up bike lanbe at 1:50

  • it's great that they put in bike lanes but damn, they took away half the street's parking and really will affect business, especially where in a city where parking is already limited...

  • All the taxi drivers in all countries you re the same. You are always right and the others are wrong. We have the bike revolution now and we like it.I have also a car but i prefer to ride my bike to do my works.

  • I think to limit the amount of cyclist laws broken there should be an essential license for any cyclists using major routes. That way, if they get caught breaking the law and they have a license then they can be fined without busting through a legal loophole like most of them do. Obviously it would be a simple license to get, written test most likely and cheap with a possible tax benefit to give people more initiative to get it.

  • My cousin was a real annoying ‘guerrilla cyclist’, always shouting at motorists who didn’t give him enough space & damaging their car bodywork with a small hammer he carried around. But he stopped riding last year after a dreadful incident in Central London.

He ‘hammered’ a car containing three bodybuilders, who promptly knocked him over, got out & held him down on the pavement. They then proceeded to smash his kneecaps & feet with his own hammer!

A bit sick maybe, but funny nonetheless!

  • @SuperTruth77 Stop spamming and why would you think thats funny? Its barbaric if anything and unfortunate.

  • Many of the bike lanes are terrific, but some (such as Broadway's, south of Times Square) are just horrible.

  • try riding in my city where the speed limits are 40, everyone drives 50, and there aren't even any sidewalks much less bike lanes. i don't live in the middle of no where either, its the second most populated city in my state.

  • 1:50 Was this guy riding on the wrong lane? lol

  • Aside from walking or jogging, Biking is as green as it gets. Great way to save money on commuting, stay fit and get people outside enjoying themselves.

  • 10 bucks says that taxi drivers angry because he doesnt know how to bike

  • I especially like the portion of this video where Mr. Thomas Justice explained that you can't expect a BICYCLE to obey the law's of a Vehicle when we are not

VE-HI-CLES!!! secondly we are not RESPECTED as Vehicles and everyone is bitching bitching bitching bitching bitching about how bikers are dangerous yet no one stops to realize i have absolutely no chance against a car who drives a thousand miles an hour at 4 in the freaking afternoon! Most of them being TAXIS!!!

  • I listen to the taxi drivers , and wonder how much of their frustration is for bike messengers and not bikers . I walk, ride, and (as little as possible) drive in NY , My experience is bike messengers are a surprisingly dangerous group. I have seen them hit and be hit by all manner of vehicles, also seen them clip pedestrians. I have also seen good bike messengers avoid all of the above problems, they aren't the norm.

Thanks for a thoughtful vid, hope we get more and more bike-ways.

  • Are all the streets in NYC one way only streets ?

  • @steppenwolf95 Most of them are except for a couple of cross streets. They're more prevalent in the outer boroughs.

  • @ahqhue Thank you. Do you know wher I could find a map of NYC with the street flaw indicated?

Are bikers really seen as crazy people ins the US of A ?

  • @RogerDaim That's why I think the taxi driver fits really well. He seems like an honest hard working man who genuinely concerned for his financial well being. And he makes a good points. But he argues for his personal well being. He doesn't want to run someone over because he might lose his job (too funny ;)). I think he's like a metaphor and a perfect representative of the bike lane critics.

  • @KatiePark100 Well, the logic is good: if a bicycle rider doesn't obey the rules of the road, it's mostly on his own risk, consciously. He trades (mostly his) safety for adrenaline, skill or respect, witch I do too, btw - love my bike. So it's human to feel empathy for an injured rider that was to blame for the accident, but in the end it's about ME, the citizen. How that affects ME directly. I lose my licence if I hit a cyclist and it wasn't my decision to do so. I think he's mostly right.

  • A french cab driver would have had the same kind of comment about bikers....not about loosing his job, but about "velib users" (the parisian bike sharing) who drive like dummies....

    see other european bike programs

  • Congrat... great video. Nice to see that the production was supported by a car maker: Renault! Times are evolving!

  • @GermFreeFusion I liked the taxi driver scene because it addresses the self-centeredness apparent in drivers. He is only worried about losing his job, not so much concerned with the concept of taking someone's life.

  • nice one! food delivery guys, not only messengers and commuters, ride safe, respect the cyclist not only on mondays.... hey cabbie, got it!? ride yer bike folks...

  • @EcoMobilityTV

I agree. I think there is already verifiable evidence of QOL improvements as a direct result of these changes.

"Mask" was not the best choice- but the portrayal of the opposition feels bit half-hearted, considering how much of the video included the cab driver, and how available coherent and reasonable opponents of the bike lanes are (or should be).

In any case, I think your message is clear and positive. Just wanted to voice my admittedly minor concern with the piece.

  • Great video Aki! Love the editing and street shots!
